My biggest recommendation is people take advantage of the PTS server, basically a free chance to explore the different ship lines before fully committing to a line on the live server, that you may or may not like as the tiers get higher
Destroyers - shimakaze and gearing Cruisers - petropavlotsky and desmoines Battleship - Yamato and montana Aircraft carrier - midway and nakhimov Submarine - i dont recomend to use cancer
The thing I don't like about Yamato line being advertised consistently as "hitting hard" and due to vertical shell grouping you end up hitting very few shells fired at broad sides
Goliath heavy British line plays similar to German one just worse AP and better HE and super heal armor isn’t as good as the German why it has super heal
I remember when I first started when the German line had 5 or 6 ships in the total line up, with FDG being the highest at the time(if I recall)...I was grinding the American BB line then...now I'm under 100k away from North Carolina(I've been playing since 2015). Though, some ideas on good non-competitive ships would be nice. No premiums, got some already, however employment situations says no new premium ships...Right now I'm focusing on the the afor mentioned US BB line, US cruiser line, IJN DD, cruiser, and CV lines, and nothing at the moment on the German side (due to unlocking Bismarck). Current premiums are Prinz Eugen, Hyuga, Ashitka, and Charlston(I don't remember unlocking Ashitaka or Charleston, I just have them). Also note I have NOTHING for the other navies, not even the starter ships.
i'd say that british bb is also worth recommending, the heal is great, especially since the super heal has now been added to the monarch, it's he is good for new players to fall back to, the armor isn't that bad, really, and well, the ap is actually quite good on broad side cruisers, which wouldn't over pin that much, just make sure not to get addicted to the he and do nothing but spamming, cause that's not how other bbs should be played, but well, if for building confidence and surviving, it's good.
Great video, thanks. That was the same question that i struggled at the beggining. Just to add two things: 1. This is just an indication, new players choose a line and go watch few vids to about each ship to know it better. 2. Also maybe more important question is do you wonna be a DD player or BB or what ever, also go check the playstyle, but would recommend go with BB then everything you want. Cheers for you and your guest 😂
Started off with the French CL and Bri’ish BB’s, Got to Algerie on one acc and didn’t like it. Started up another one, and went down the brit BB line, was basically CBT until I got to KGV. That slow turret traverse + gimmicky short fuze AP is rough imo.
As a new player should I just start with one line (meaning BB, DDs or CA)? Cause I just play Japanese line with all of these and going up with tiers (currently at 4-5). Just trying to understand the mechanics of the game.
can if you want, the jap ships are pretty good and fun to play, have longer ranges decent torps and good conceal, the only problem is they cant take sustained fire, in jap battleship case, I have Nagato working towards Yamato after doing mostly of the US line, kiting and firing he is your best bet as they have high shell arcs ap you kinda have to be super close range like under 10km which is not where you want to be but you'll make another battleship regret getting that close in a 1v1. Stay on Jap line for now I don't think you'll come across a bad ship throughout the lines, French are pretty solid aswell for cruisers and Battleships, cant say much about the DDs as i haven't played them.
Great vid. As a filthy sub main, I agree, German line allows you learn subs at long range so you stay alive long enough to learn a thing or two. I rank them in effectiveness per ease of use/learning 1 german, 2 Japanese (no sub in the game puts as much pressure on a flank as I-56. She's still a f***ing menace), 3 American, 4 Brit (sorry, but IMO they're trash)
There doesn't seem to be perfect BB line for me at all :( I like huge alpha damage and being hard to kill. I like to watch my team pick the enemies one by one while they try to kill me. Have had some epic flank defenses with 2+ mil potential damage taken (and survived the battle) in P.Heinrick. Had great time with New Mexico and 4x3 turrets. UK super heal sounds nice, but I'm not sure if it's false tankiness. And if their AP sucks against other BBs (everyone spamming HE with them), it's not a line for me. France seem to have lots of guns (not sure if that translates into high alpha), but on paper seem squishy.
To many things I disagree with these "experts": - German subs don't get any better homing torpedoes (British do) and after all the nerfs I feel like due to homing cut off torpedo speed is the most important fact making USN SUBs easiest to land torpedo hits with (did not play RN SUBs comparing German vs US) - Yamato line "hits hard" is false, the vertical grouping of whole IJN BBs means you don't land that many hits per salvo on broad side targets (the saving grace is due to this sort of grouping is that enemies trying to turn in our out of your salvo still get slapped by some of your shells), you need to be able to overmatch enemy ships then the vertical grouping becomes powerful against enemies sailing away from you.
In order to have the most fun, the only line you should consider taking is one of cocaine because that's what's necessary to make you enjoy playing this idiotic cesspit of a game. These back to back events coming up such as Might and Magic, Metallica and Popeye are all vain attempts to get people to open up their wallets once again and it is so goddamn scummy.
I basically started of with Chakalov B (and hence the Nachimov) line as my first CV because I just couldn't handle Kaga's paper planes (it was so bad I sometimes ran out of planes in Kaga 😵) and need to do 2 runs for good damage.😂 With the rest I mostly argee but as a Torp DD main I do miss my Shimakaze as starter recommendation.

4k exp on Montana.... :/ You should play it more often. Really good and fun ship
i do on my other accounts
Which Cruiser line would you recommend to someone that enjoys Mainz/Weimar alot besides the German line?

I started the cv grind with British cv but finished nakimov first
good choice

Good point!
IJN BBs
Save yourself the credits, the line peaks at Fuso
thats not true...it peaks at Kongo

I started with german subs

Bou, I can't figure out what ship is that on the thumbnail, can you tell us
I think it is the Hindenburg

is hindenburg

Obviously, you should be playing the Italian battleships first. Then go the Commonwealth cruisers.
yeah, recommended phsycopath route
"Best Beginner Ship Lines" and starts off talking about Tier 10.
Yes cause that is the end goal and the lines recommended are the easiest to go down ☝️

Best thing what you can do as beginer is just play a game, You just need skill for game😅
