i had always made them in the oven but I appreciate you showing this method on the stovetop! i assume coating them in a bit of oil and adding some spice would also be equally easy on the stovetop.

this is interresting. pepitas look very much like the seeds of the "steyrische oelkuerbis", which dont have huss either, and are used to make the most delicious pumkin seed oil.

How many minutes to toast the seeds?
I've been gutting pumpkins & toasting pumpkin seeds for years but with the shell on. How did you remove the shells or did you buy them like that?

we have no solution nor remedy for your query . . . Manfreed
no problem thanks for replying anyways
Those must be a different type of pumpkin that you got them from.
What a legend XD
you flatter . . . am just a happy cook in the kitchen . . . Manfreed
Are these deseeded?
Yes they are . . . Manfreed
Ok. So does toasting them remove any of the nutritional value you would get from eating them raw ?
. . . toasting removes moisture . . . adding a cripy crunch . . . nutrition remains . . . cheers . . . Manfreed
i like to tast them a little longer, untill most puff up a bit and are a lightly browned. glazing them with soy sauce and some garlic, really takes the flavour to a new level.
take the pan off the stove and let it cool for 2-3 minutes, not to burn the sauce, drizzle on enough to coat them all, back on the stove, and stil for another 1-2 minutes, untill it's all evaporated.
PS: japanese (kikoman) or thin chinese soy sauve wors best for this.
Thanks for this great recipe . . . tried it . . . it is delicious . . . cheers . . . Manfreed

You bite the between your teeth just like you would with sunflower seeds.....I actually prefer to eat them with the shell on. Never had an upset stomach before.
Excuse me chef, is this technique is also applicable to sunflower seeds?
yes you are correct . . . thanks . . . cheers . . . Manfreed
ManfreedintheKitchen it also adds a very nice taste to them when you sprinkle in a little pickling spice
this guy is funny
can you make with the seed shell?
Yeah you can! We usually make them in the oven but we keep the shell on.

. . . good chuckle . . . Manfreed
How much seeds we have to take daily?
1-2 table spoons ..not more than that
I've eaten a lot in a day and been fine...I'm sure it doesn't matter how many you eat unless you're on a specific diet.

Enjoy everything in moderation . . . cheers . . . Manfreed
Fresh out of a pumpkin seeds are white, not that greenish color.
He's using shelled seeds.
@@mpmattson Oh. How do you shell them?
@@GrandmaSezSo Winco - where I live - sells them pre-shelled in bins. Machines do it ridiculously fast. I'd never have the patience. :)
