I am a big fan of your videos as they are so informative. After watching your videos I started consuming raw pumpkin seeds from true elements. I have also started using it in different recipes and it turned out to be super yum.
Thank you for this! Your video gave me a good laugh when I first saw what you were doing... but I cooked a buttercup squash and it had super thick, tough seeds. I didn't want to cook them and this was perfect 😂

That is a great idea. I'm going to do this. Here is a good idea for cutting the very hard shell off of black walnut and hickory nuts. Use diagonal cutters. Diagonal cutters work great for cutting away very hard shelled nuts.
And you can put the whole pumpkin seed in a electric blade grinder and grind them into powder and add some vegetable or coconut oil to make a paste to eat or spread it on bread.
why not just roast them and eat the shells? This worked though. I gave it a shot to see if it'd be worth it. If you really don't like the shells it works. I guess the preference is similar to how some people eat shrimp tails. Probably not that important in retrospect.
I eat these so much that my teeth are literally trained to use just the right amount of pressure to crack 1 perfectly, each time. I guess you can say I'm a pro now 😂🤷♀️

I had stopped eating them as a snack because the hulled ones are so expensive and it took me 10 minutes to hull just a handful myself! 👏👏👏👏🧍♀️(standing ovation)
Hahaha or you could just boil them for 10 minutes, cool them down, use scissors to cut a few millimeters off the fat end and use your fingers to squeeze the seeds out. I was actually looking to see if I could find an even easier way.
I hope to provide you all with a simpler way. Place all seeds on a flat surface after they have been washed and air dried. Roll with a rolling pin just hard enough to fracture the shell but not the seed. Boil for 5 minutes and the shells will separate themselves.

The paste is good with chicken, the homeless shelter i was staying at in Austin made a mexican pepita chicken dish it was very savory.
Don't forget to soak overnight,then dry in sun before grinding in powder

Hmmm. 5 weeks years later I’ve eaten 100 pumpkin seeds. There need to be a better way. Food processing plants are able to shell them.
