Love that he picked Pleased to Meet Me. Hipsters will scream for LIB but PTMM has the best mix of songs and sonics. Can’t Hardly Wait is the perfect blend of energy and arrangement.
Knew Op Ivy would be there. Bowie was a perfect choice. Mike played on Screeching Weasel's 'How to make enemies and irritate people'..another great band and record. Picking a top 5 records would be hard....but Beck would for sure not make my list.
@@MiguelPaulettePerez-bj8ml i just got bored with him after his first big single LOSER way back in 94. Tried a few more cd's and even saw him live, but never could see the mass appeal. Good marketing behind him though for sure. I'd have a RUSH and CHEAP TRICK record in my top 5 for sure.
i was waiting for the mats album :) and lo and behold at no. 5. i was guessing he would go for let it be. i once heard threaten to cover the mats in a london. unfortunately the crowd screamed for another band.
I'm 66 and for years my family said that if Richard sells his albums hell must have frozen over. Well, I did 5 years ago. They take room and have weight. Sticky Fingers is arguably the stones best but my best friend for years was the biggest Stones fan. Sister Morphine was taken "off" the U.S. release because of drug references. In a used record store that I used to peruse I saw an import and bought it for him. Different cover, no zipper, and it had Sister Morphine. John Cusack, (Uh, w/Jack Black) had a movie High Fidelity and he lived where I shopped. No internet kids. So, many of us more artistic, for lack of a better word, spent times in the used record stores. I sold many, many times and got next to nothing for them but music in the vinyl mainly was a great drug. My sister thought Green day was dumb and I retorted that No, they are earthy, street urchins but they have heart and soul and aren't idiots. It's about living in a hopeless world. And then they got really big. Be true in your music even if it's mixing hard rock and punk with show tunes. Ha-ha-ha. Oye-vay!
cant wait to order my one step american idiot and a copy of warning and nimrod. i hope other punk and ska bands repress. Less than jake records are insanely expensive.

Love Mike so much!!! Such a great dude :)
I forgot he wrote JAR!! That is a great tune
_Correct. Thanks for sharing._

Mike with other band mates on a podcast or interview -🤪🤣🥳🤩🤪🤪😏

He mentioned Soul Asylum, respect.
He's a great musician, love Mike ❤
Love the JAR mention

I'd pick all five. I have all five.... I can understand the Beck disconnection. I think I would have picked Odelay, but Mutations is a good album.

Cool man.
He just referred to “Good Riddance” as “Time of Your Life.” 😮
If you're into vinyl spend the $$ and buy a high end needle. They wear out! But when they are new? Nothing like it.
expecting the host to say "I'm Batman.."
and The Ramones?
I noticed this is a different record store from before, does anyone know why that is?
Half of the season was shot in Nashville and the other half was in LA to accommodate the guests
The irst record he bought was from Green Day??? How the fuck old am I??
Mike said " Ya Know", Billie Joe is rubbing off on him ..
Gross
“I recorded it from the radio”… kids, that was how we pirated music back in the day 😛

Good episode but as some others pointed out.. Remove those intros that come back and forth. It only takes up time and are pointless.
I don’t know how much longer I can tolerate the interview guy saying, “Yep.” 🙉
Korek fizikal 😂
Good video but please get rid of this intro in between each album it’s redundant and of waste of time.
AND I CANNOT SPEAK
No

Very cool video. Is Mike anti-American too? It was weird how Green Day played the AMERICAN Music Awards recently, you know?
No one in Green Day is anti-American.
Trump 2024❤
Yup, Trump for prison, 2024!
Hail trump😂
@@TheHuckster100 Did Billie Joe leave America yet? His threats are 20 years strong by now.
Why politicize a music channel? Don’t care if you are for Trump or Harris…. I’m here for the discussion of music…..
