“Last night I stayed up till 3 in the morning painting plates” I expect nothing less from Tre, but also the interviewers response was perfect lol just “…bruh”
I remember playing Tony Hawks American wasteland and hearing Holiday for the first time. Fast forward 15 years later and I got to finally jam out to it in Vegas. Much love to the guys 💙🤘🏻
Green Day are legends! I first became obsessed with them in 1994 at 8 years old after seeing Basket Case on Much Music and I now watch this interview on MUCH today in 2023... Life is good!
Wasn't really interested in Saviors but these guys just have such a fun and amiable personality they bring as a collective that it's hard not to want to check out anything they do
Saw these guys 6 years ago at Budweiser stage, incredible show, can’t wait for them to come back to Toronto next summer, gonna be another fun show, Green Day is outstanding live
Those pigs Mike has are so cute. And he's multi-talented, doing both field work and cooking. And I like Tre's drawings. His drawings are unique and interesting.
I still remember their first performance (I think it was the first) on the Late Show with David Letterman, when Tré Cool took an impromptu dip in a small pool that was, for whatever reason, on stage.
This guy has no idea about who he's interviewing. Random ass questions. Dude's dropping ramdom words like facts, raad, bruh, fire, yoo, ooooh, oookkayy 😂😂
I was obsessed with green dsy in high school. I had 10 shirts. Every album plus awful quality bootlegs. Saw them at Maple leaf gardens in Toronto Ontario, the the insomniac tour. I still remember the lyrics to every song that came out from insomniac and before. Then i adopted industrial music like kmfdm and skinny puppy. Those bands were prophetic of todays world problems
I seen them in 94 in Toronto, the night before I seen Weezer ahh good times, I hope Green Day covers Teenage Head considering its in Hamilton, That'd be amazing
I liked the questions and style of this interview. It wasn't up its ass like a bunch of the more serious interviews are. It showed in how calm and themselves the guys seemed in this, like how they used to answer and do interviews back in the day. Now, most of the serious common place questions that get asked by them all the time those interviews are boring.
This is why homework is so important in prepping for an interview and not just asking generic questions. I do think they'd probably be as put off with someone fan-boying/girling over them or asking them the same questions they've been asked before (especially about their old stuff) but I do give them props for taking it in stride. They could've easily been jerks.
Mainly just because of the first question, which was kind of dumb and really didn't make any sense, but once they all moved passed that awkward moment the interview seemed to be not too bad, Mike and his pigs was hilarious!
@@MyArtificialNostalgia I actually give major credit to the band here. They made a concious effort not to be jerks about the kind of questions they were getting and kind of saved the interview by adding in sutff like about the anchoives and pigs almost like an attempt to save their interview. With a different artist and band this could've gone sideways quickly. I think this actually shows how egoless they are as a group.
@kiroolioneaver8532 I thought it was so funny how they worked it back into something funny, with Billie Joe being a new ingredient and Mike joking about his pigs as a topping. The interviewer was a bit awkward but I think Green Day get that some of the newer generations are like that. Overall it was very enjoyable!
Not a good interview. Some lame-o questions. They answered them kindly though, took his seemingly lack of knowledge in stride. I will say that Canadians always seem very nice and hospitable, and the interviewer wasn't nasty or anything, just a bit wet behind the ear.
Saying they dont know much about video games like you literally are one of two bands in the world to have their own rockband game, only other band being THE BEATLES. no shit there should be more green day in video games tho, GET ON IT ROCKSTAR. (also just discovered how many other bands were gonna do a rock band game and others were planned but never made it far enought [Pink Floyd and Zep] RIP)
I honestly thought the interviewer was terrible and wasn't matching green day's vibe at all it felt really weird and a bit awkward. Clearly not a fan if he's saying he knows them through video game music then that last question was just death cause they don't game or care about their songs being them. But other than that great job.
Saying he only knows them from video games could've actually been an interesting "in" especially since he's clearly from a younger generation than would be associated with their music. Green Day have probably done countless interviews being asked the same old questions about their older stuff so there was a real opportunity here if dude had tailored the generic questions by doing a bit of background and homework as the band were clearly eager to not be jerks (which they easily could've been). In terms of mainstreaming charting acts they are probably the most political and so even talking about differences in politics and culture between the US and Canada could've been an interesting way to go (I mean, their new single is literally "The American Dream is Killing Me").
Good thing it's not his job to match THEIR vibe. It's his job to have his own unique vibe, and ask unique questions. He nailed both of those things. Green Day just didn't quite get it, and that's fine. They all answered the best they could, and it was entertaining anyways.
This was a good interview was nice to see Tre and especially Mike talk some. Also what's all these video games they're referring too 🤔 last GD track from a game I member was like basket case on Bmx XXX for the ps2 lol
you think that they would do a whole tour across Canada coast to coast. Province the province I don’t understand why they only go to Montreal and Toronto. I get it Big populations yes but if you want to make more money go to more cities. I’m a small town city boy who would love to see Green Day. it’s something I would like to do before I die. And I know that that will never happen. Because they never come to the East Coast. The last time they came to the East Coast was a 1994. And I was 1
apologies man, i’ll try better for next time! but if you have any questions that you think we should ask him, let me know what they are, and if we get a chance to talk to him again, we’ll make sure we get your question in!
@@kwedamandeleted I liked the interview it was fun, but if you get to talk to them again i'd really like to know if they're planning to play the new album in full on the upcoming tour!

MAN, This HAS TO BE the best interview Green Day ever did! Give that man a medal. These are some fxckin unexpected questions! I Love This!
“Last night I stayed up till 3 in the morning painting plates”

Now, imagine this same interview with the 90’s Green Day😂
Tre would have knocked over all the chairs in the room.
Yeah it would have been insane cause they made interviewers feel uncomfortable cause they would act insane
They woulda ate this dude up 😂 He’s clearly winging it.
So cringe. I couldn’t finish it😂
Haha right!? I like how happy and humble the are now, but fuck, that would be aweseome 🤘🤣
I like how these guys are in their fifties, yet they still act like school buddies. And these were some good questions!
I’m impressed with the quality of interviewer. It reminds me that much used to be a legitimate TV channel with pros and everything.
Kwesi is the BOMB! Talk about a guy who just exudes joy! He is basically me if I were to do an interview super high! LOL
Green Day killed on that halftime show. Well done boyz!
Great interview, you nailed the interview, it looked so fun chatting with them
They are seriously the coolest and nicest guys, plus they are hilarious
Shout out to the interviewer for telling Rockstar to put Green Day in GTA 6 🤟‼️
I remember playing Tony Hawks American wasteland and hearing Holiday for the first time. Fast forward 15 years later and I got to finally jam out to it in Vegas. Much love to the guys 💙🤘🏻
Some of the best interview questions I’ve heard in awhile. They were refreshing to the generic things most people ask.

very refreshing combination! love those guys and great interviewer!

Green Day's ALWAYS fun when they're on Much Music💡

Been a die-hard Green Day fan since 1992. YES! Green Day need to be in GTA6 @RockStar
Absolutely agree, Saviours and Green Day classics in GTA 6 PLEASE!

led zeppelin could so carry a rockband game, but it wouldnt happen since bonham isnt around anymore so i doubt they’ll do anything more with their ip

Billie collaborated with the lonely island
Carrying the video game scene umm? Describe the album like you were describing a pizza WHAT? What are these questions lmao😂
Hi Billie 🤗💕
Pigs on a walk 🤣
Yes should have asked about music, milestone's, why not tour Canada coast to coast, when did you first play guitar or drums or your influences...
Why do I keep seeing this same interview setting with different interviewers? Weird. I guess green day is doing a job interview.
Artists do press junkets! We were honoured to be invited among a lot of other great media outlets :)
I like pineapple jalapeno pizza. Istg it's fckn 🔥
❤
Omg this interviewer…who hired him? Brutal.
Clearly Billie Joe has not had Antoninos pizza from Windsor, ON!!!
This interviewer was not the right fit for Green Day lol
But he did a damn good job nonetheless! 🤣

Quiero un chanchito de mascota!🥰

Is it just me or does billie just not age?
I like stuffed crust pizza 🍕

This quality of interview is not representative of the MuchMusic we grew up with. Anyone under 30 doesn''t understand.
