Thanks for recognizing the very detailed nature of this video. It might look silly with the gun slinging, but it is very well researched and evidence based
I got prescribed Lantus as my first insulin. my diabetes doctor raised an eye brown at this, since it's practically something prescriped to old people, and you can't change the dose on the fly so easily, as with something like levemir, which i might get in the future. Even my grandmother's mom had Lantus in her later years 😂
Great 👏👏 this means if I have pt who was using insulin glargine 100 units , when starting insulin glargine 300 units , it should be in higher doses to achieve better results , right?? Thank you in advance
Thanks for watching! Check in with your mother's doctor. There are two types of insulin. A long acting like glargine but also more rapid acting insulins taken with food that can be helpful when the glucose is high on the longer acting insulin alone
thanks for watching! it could be the way the doctor wrote the script. Do you know which Toujeo pen he takes (there is a MAX version as well) and the number of units per day?

The information in the video is exactly what I was looking for when I searched RUclips. Very easy to understand and fun to watch, too!

>is humallog instilling low or fast acting
Humalog is a short acting insulin
No it’s fast acting insulin
Can i inject less volumes of togeo instead i was taking lantus 24 in 24 hrs
The Toujeo pens will automatically provide less volume at the same dose!
My mom try both insulin 40 units per day but sugar still 350
Can i answer ur question? I think you are not keeping insulin in fridge, that's why it's not working
@@V5844_ i always keep in fridge
Only rapid acting insulin works in my mom

So my fiancé went from basgalar to toujeo. But the supply is only 23 days. Why?
thanks for watching! it could be the way the doctor wrote the script. Do you know which Toujeo pen he takes (there is a MAX version as well) and the number of units per day?
@@Doctablet 60 Units and it’s the regular 300 not the max.
@@rachelv9927 Each pen has 450 units (1.5 mL). He would need 4 pens per months, so his doctor has to write to dispense 6 mL as a one month supply
