- In this old-style western, we discuss in detail the differences between Lantus and Toujeo. Although these two products contain the same type of insulin molecule, there are important differences between them. We set these two gunslingers side by side and discuss the strengths and disadvantages each one has and set them up to compete with each other in an old-style brawl. We review the history of the two products, differences in concentration, mode of application, and what is expected when using these two types of insulin glargine. I got prescribed Lantus as my first insulin. my diabetes doctor raised an eye brown at this, since it's practically something prescriped to old people, and you can't change the dose on the fly so easily, as with something like levemir, which i might get in the future. Even my grandmother's mom had Lantus in her later years 😂

Great 👏👏 this means if I have pt who was using insulin glargine 100 units , when starting insulin glargine 300 units , it should be in higher doses to achieve better results , right?? Thank you in advance

I used both but now using lantus
Can i inject less volumes of togeo instead i was taking lantus 24 in 24 hrs
The Toujeo pens will automatically provide less volume at the same dose!

My mom try both insulin 40 units per day but sugar still 350

Thanks for watching! Check in with your mother's doctor. There are two types of insulin. A long acting like glargine but also more rapid acting insulins taken with food that can be helpful when the glucose is high on the longer acting insulin alone

thanks for watching! it could be the way the doctor wrote the script. Do you know which Toujeo pen he takes (there is a MAX version as well) and the number of units per day?
@@Doctablet 60 Units and it’s the regular 300 not the max.
@@rachelv9927 Each pen has 450 units (1.5 mL). He would need 4 pens per months, so his doctor has to write to dispense 6 mL as a one month supply
