the fact that stanford's 5'11 setter is normally the libero and led the team to the team's season best hitting percentage is amazing. justin lui the goat
Jaylen Jasper’s line shot is disgusting. He doesn’t even have that much rotation on his swing, he just whips it with his armspeed and has a high touch. It’s actually amazing
Ohman I wish i had started playing Volleyball earlier. Im now 19 played soccer for 15 years and just now started to Play Volleyball and noticed its way more fun
Puk4s Well, on the bright side, your skills from soccer might be able to transition over to volleyball. I mean, you can kinda use your feet in volleyball. Plus it’s not the hardest sport, just focus on how to play your position, get good at it, and you should be able to do decent. Even if you did start out later than everyone else.
Puk4s i had the same situation but i started earlier. I’m 15 and i played soccer for 6 years and i started a year ago. You got it man! You can do great
The taller tree needs to run the offense quicker. The shorter guy moved the ball around and it looked like the hitters were more comfortable with the quicker tempo sets.
5:09 remind me of haikyuu which they left a bit of open on the side so the attacker dont have a choice to spike it on straight which give the libero a easy job to receive
I’m glad they subbed number 11 out.. I was getting annoyed at his blocking. Feet were never set in the right spot and his arms were too wide most of the time. Way too easy for Stanford’s oppo to score
The stanford setter gives me hope to play in a good uni. Im 15 and just 5’6 and he’s 5’10. I didnt know university teams took people that short as a setter
I’m currently a sophomore in a d4 highschool. It’s my dream to hopefully play for a college like this. I don’t have height to my advantage (5’8)...does this seem unreasonable? Especially since I’m an outside...Either way, I’m gonna work until I’m there.
Bro it's not unreasonable. I'm from the UK but im 5ft6 as an outside. I play in the UK university league for Durham which is the top uni in the league and we also play in the NVL in the UK. We have NCAA starters for D1 schools, a setter who played pro in South America with some of the best outsides in the world, one of the starting outsides for an NCAA championship winning team, players who played pro in germany and france, and I'm on that squad. I'm nowhere near as much of a baller as them but i train with them all the time and I can keep up. The key is reception dont worry about hitting hitting comes easily. I did it the wrong way around i have a solid spike and block but my serve receive is shit and i rely on my reflexes and speed on defence rather than reading the hitter. My setter (who is my coach) told me that the best players in the world make miss-hits sometimes. I myself as a Modena fan have seen Matt Anderson play full matches where he hits the ball like three times without scoring a single point, but modena dominate because he passes well so they can set the middle and the opposite pin. As a shorter player as well everyone expects you to have amazing reception. there's two younger guys on my team as well and what sets me apart from them is that if u slapped any of them as libero the ball would not touch the ground. so yh. reception first my guy.
@@simonlarch673 yh my guy just slap my name into insta and itll be kinda obvious which one i am. Im in my first year so for my first season i played with the second team. Im not good enough to start for the first team and my coach told me that getting practise in with the second team would be fine. We won our league literally only losing the first match of the season where none of us had actually met each other before. But also bare in mind volleyball is not big in the UK. All the footage from my insta has been taken from players setting up their own cameras. A lot of them are quite low quality. But yeah have a look anyway and drop me a message if you want.
Can someone tell me why mens volleyball is so low in popularity and scale rather than women's volleyball? Idk I started following some of the womens and mens players, and the mens always play in smaller halls, etc. One of them told me it's cause men's is too fast and women's has better rallies.. In the UK where I live there are barely any sports to this level, Highschool teams are rare and don't get you a college sponsorship very often.
There’s a lot of drama in women’s game. And yes Men’s style of play is always about power and speed. But in the international level, men are more fun to watch.
Usually who ever is in position 6 I would say. They're so close because Kofi hits so steep that any block is gonna come straight down, the block was a little late meaning it had that deeper loopier flight off the hands. I guess it's the one fall point of having Kofi as a middle, he'll put the ball away more often than not but if you get hands on it it's coming back fast.
周森林 I agree with him (only this game though) because there were a couple moments he got blocked when he should have worked on hitting spots. But yes I think some of it was setter also
As your draw your swing hand back, reach your guide arm forward and really stretch it. This creates a pull push, so once you pull your guide arm back to you, your body will rotate really quickly forcing your swing arm to whip forward.
UCLA's setter Jensen is now playing as opposite for Verona in Italy ruclips.net/video/16B3GrZDxCY/видео.html If he comes back to UCLA, I wonder if he will stick to playing opposite.
If he is playing pro in Italy I don’t think he could go back due to eligibility issues and because he had a successful season I highly doubt he would even want to go back.

It's an absolute crime how empty that place is.
Welcome to Mens Volleyball.
Do the women even sellout? It might just be a Stanford problem
@@philevans6395 Yes, womens volleyball is actually really popular and has far greater attendance.
@@ZoomZip I know it's more popular, but I have seen a lot of the women's matches not be full (albeit on tv)

Perfect timing. I was wondering what to watch
yup
Always hyped for Kofi Kid!
5:27 that cross shot is beautiful
11:12 sick.
The short setter for ucla ran a much better offense than the tall lefty setter
I don't understand why he is still starting. They are throwing away the season focusing on the tall setter.
@@dominiquestubblefield7720 it'll pay off in a few years

micah ma'a is just a monster
madartist2670 thats not mica ma’a
the next Generation of setter. Huge guys that can serve hard, hit hard of the pass on the second ball and block high as well
idk why, but im still surprised that Kofi is still on UCLA. I swear it feels like hes been on the team for like 5 years or something haha.
UCLA #16 jumps are insane
I have a screenshot from a match where he almost got his belly button over the net. I swear his reach is insane.
giorgakis kapsis Is it the one from when they played TWU? I screenshotted one of the serious jumps in that game
@@therealjif Um yeah actually it is :D
or you could go on project pro athlete to see his belly button over the net, and a breakdown of his jump

Great video! Loved the slow mo!! Go to more games and make videos like this!!! ✊🔥

Fantastic game

1:50 Isn't that a screen? Passer had no view on that ball at all.
Who is the #23 of standford?
Will there be a hitting lines video?
#23 is insane
Austin Matautia. Started at Hawaii as a freshman, then red-shirted to ucla and he's only about 6'1-6'2
stanford's number 2 is a beast
no video when they played Hawaii?
The stanford setter gives me hope to play in a good uni. Im 15 and just 5’6 and he’s 5’10. I didnt know university teams took people that short as a setter
yes you can do it just work on your skill and technique, that matters more than height
Great right side

I think its what you said. Girls is easier to watch for the casual viewer and i guess theres also the sex appeal in the short shorts and all.
so all the men have to do is paint their team and number on their chest and back and play in tights! Viewership will skyrocket lol

Your team can do whatever when your setter is 6 10!!!!
That UCLA setter is huge how tall is he

Sad that Stanford is getting rid of there volleyball team 😢
Do people really use flash when taking volleyball photos, thats so distracting wtf

Kofi - uclas middle blocker
He gotta stop thinking about hitting the ball straight down, that's why he keeps getting blocked

As your draw your swing hand back, reach your guide arm forward and really stretch it. This creates a pull push, so once you pull your guide arm back to you, your body will rotate really quickly forcing your swing arm to whip forward.
Kofi needs higher sets again😂
there is a lot of canadians on the court

That tall UCLA setter was like a tree... a big tree.
Yoo
Sure, jump serving does not let you target all zones of the court, but at this level if you don't jump serve WELL, you're in the wrong sport.
The second UCLA setter is miles better than the taller guy. I understand the height, he's young, it'll pay off later, etc., but it's night and day.
This reminds me of Aoba Josei vs Karasu high
