I had no clue Daenan Gyimah stopped playing volleyball to pursue music. Good for him that he gets to pursue a career that he wants though! But he will be missed!
He and Sharone Vernon-Evans are two of Canada's greatest treasures lol! Was so fun to watch them play volleyball from club to this level!
gyimah was a monster
UCLA lived and died by the serve in that match. UCLA was up 17-13 in the fourth set and their service errors piled up and Long Beach ended up winning the set 26-24.
TJ and Josh played at Huntington Beach High School and all through their club years on The HBC.
You could say the same about Long Beach. They had way too many service errors in set 1&2
Can you please do LBSU vs. Hawaii 2019 Men's NCAA Final?
Hi Erik, I’m so glad that there is someone who loves volleyball so much. Its so great to watch your videos. Keep up the great work!
Thanks so much for watching!
@@ErikShojivolleyball Appreciate it man!❤️
What a match OMG!!!!!! Now I understand why USA has such great players! They have such great school championships!👏👏👏👏👍👍👍Great video Erik!
Really enjoyed your reaction this this 5th set. Its always nice to see what a player is thinking as they watch a match.
So many good moments the “JOsH” at 10:35 and the “GO” at 7:26
yass i asked for this match a while back, and the commentary and reaction certainly loved up to the expectations!! loved hearing you opinions on these young guys who might end up growing into starting positions on the usa national team!
I love to see your passion even just watching a game! These ones are so suspenseful!!
You can tell the players were nervous with all those errors made on both teams.
josh and tj played club with long beach states libero as well
3:15 Kofi Gyimah. One of the most insane reaches in college volleyball. Played for the Canadian national team in the 2019 VNL but then quit to do music. Loved this match and love your videos!!
He also holds the NCAA men's volleyball record for career hitting percentage with .483!!!
Yessss, more NCAA matches!!!
sounds like your high school is a different breed
Your look when you say "This also shows how old I am...which is great." LOL.
I agree with you that players should let the libero get first touch when it's in their area. There was that one net error where both middle and setter (I think it was the setter?) who went for the second ball - such a no no
AWESOME VOD ERIK 🤩
I always feel like i learn so much when I watch your videos! Thank you!
wow thank you so much for the kind words!
Hope you’ll make a reaction video to Dawn “Miss Everywhere “ Macandili
I agree, libero reacts to a libero. That would be a great idea right?😘
Up
@@christianejaymodumo553 looking forward 😉😉
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH
3:29 This player's name is Daenan Gyimah, he plays for a Canadian national team, but I don't think it's the senior one. He's only in his senior year at UCLA now, meaning in this match was in his sophomore year!
He played in the Senior's team during VNL 2019
Love watching Long Beach State been a fan for years.
Thank you for another cool reaction video! As always, very detailed and educational analysis of the plays. Thank you!
Oh yessss!! ive been waiting for this reaction with micah and josh
sheesh this set was just full of errors lmao, playing in it was tough xD
lol what u mean
@@cameroacameron6424 he is the libero for long beach lmao
man, you gotta stay in tune the entire time
respect
not sure what that means but if its something nice then thanks??!!
@@ErikShojivolleyball i meant for the game of volleyball you have to be in tune mentally all the time, because of the speed
On the note of letting your libero take a pretty easy ball, I appreciate when hitters do the same thing and get out of the way if they can. Better for everyone.
it all depends on the scenario...but in a perfect world the setter wouldn't take the first ball if another player can get it so they can set the second ball.
Long beach vs. Hawaii pleease
@6:43, #19 from LBSU, Siegfried - he uses that wrist away shot on his serve quite often. I’ve seen it on the RUclips matches he’s in. He gets a surprising amount of aces and bad passes off of it. It has a deceptive action.
Those Punahou players know how to serve! ;)
What is a wrist away?
@@Irfan-sh4lc for a right handed player, it’s when the hitter’s hand snaps slightly to the right.

7:23 ahahaha the Libero instincts coming out there Erik
I was there! This match was so exciting! I love watching both teams! Met players on both sides of the net. Love watching them play on the national team too!❤
Always looking forward to your videos, please dont ever stop making videos.
Yes !!!! React more to NCAA volleyball ‼️
Love you videos!! You should do an evolution of the player video, analysing the players from the Nation Team from college, to pro to NT!
thank you so much for watching!
Have you seen the Japanese collegiate volleybal plays yet? They are insane, can only imagine your reactions to that!
I still wonder why Kofi quit volleyball...
He wanted to pursue his music career!
Yoyoyoyoyo, love your vids!!! can you please make a reaction video on Japan High school volleyball!!!
Can you react on 5th set of China vs Brazil semifinal round women volleyball rio olympics??? Pleasee huhu that was really intense
9:05 thats my coach right there
should do byu highlights cause they got 4 all americans and some great players
This was such a great video!!
#16 is from Toronto and doing Music. He's a rapper and doesn't identify with ball at all. Sad really.
Speraw ruined his career.....
I was at this game and while it was memorable, at times it felt like a volleyball match breaking out in the middle of a clinic on how to miss serves. I love men's volleyball, but the game right now, especially Speraw's teams are almost unwatchable. The Men's game needs to change.
I agree that it can be difficult to watch sometimes as a spectator due to service errors. Funny you mention that because Speraw would actually like to create a service errors limit per player! That being said, in mens vb today you have to be aggressive or the other team will sideout at too high of a rate.
@@ErikShojivolleyball What do you think about eliminating setting the ball on serve receive? Float serves are an underrated tool and art.
Awesome video!!!
OMG YOU DID IT :)))) thank you
Im still here to challenge you someday on the international level
NO.16‘s jumping ability is very impressive!why he quit volleyball???!!!
Kofi - he got a deal with Red Bull to make music.
Hope to see u react to Ur own college matches
i want to but i need to get my hands on some video from early 2010s hahaha
@@ErikShojivolleyball might be hard but it’s part of that new self loving erik of 2021
3:27 lol
a litle sad that Simon Anderson didn't play but still a great video
you should watch some japanese highschool players they are really good!
can you react to Japan vs Canada
Awesome video, waiting for reaction on Serbia vs France 2019 Men European Championship Finale 😁
Wait he retired? I thought he played for Canada against Iran in vnl or something?
thought so too.
I am big fan from Iran❤❤❤💖
I am coming late❤️❤️That's a good video
can you make videos about helping out liberos, like tips and tricks, please?
my videos tend to focus a lot of libero stuff like passing and defense....so hope you keep watching and learning! I’ve also made 2 videos on passing. idk if I’ll make a video specifically on liberos but hope you keep watching! 😀
Please analyze Ivan Zaitsev destroying team USA.
hahahaha ouch....
Hi sir big fan from India 🇮🇳
Yo shoji did you know that ensing is playing at macabi tel aviv in israel this season? (My country)
Yes i did know that! A couple of Americans right? I hope they are doing well! Greetings to Isreal!
@@ErikShojivolleyball :)

if You have it could you react to you as a young player video of you before and after would be sick
Can you react to zaytzev please!!!!!
hope you can make a video about malaysian volleyball:) much love from malaysia all of us love you heree
We want Pyu vs ucla
it sucks daenan gyimah quit volleyball :((
don't answer if you don't want to upset anyone lol, but who do you think is the better setter, micha or tuiniga? or if thats too spicy a question, how do their setting styles differ?
That’s a great question lmao now I’m curious
thats a tough question! its a little too spicy to answer, but they are very different. Josh is more of a classic setter and Micah is more of a physical setter.
can you react to UCSB
what annoys me is the camera shutters, why the hell u have flash on, right when the spiker is hitting too
Please show the reaction to the Iranian team, Erik
Does that frustrate you when a blocker drifts the way DeFalco does? Does it change the way you read and react?
It depends...some blockers you just know they’re going to do some crazy things so you have to read around them. In this case TJ saw the hitter and trusted what he saw.
@@ErikShojivolleyball And I'm sure you get a ton of scouting reports to know hitter tendency that blocking strategy and playing behind them is already planned out within system.
Do you guys call for the ball?
we try to as much as possible!
Hi Erik! You mentioned you dont have the End Zone angle for this match. What do you guys call this camera view?
im not sure! tv view?
Can you react on UAAP VOLLEYBALL MATCH
Hi Erik!
hi!
How would you stack up against top college spikers? I’ve noticed that pro setters are much more consistent but the spikes seem just as hard to the untrained eye.
The spikes at the professional level come with more velocity and accuracy. It’s hard to tell on camera but person you wouldn’t be able to tell.
@@ErikShojivolleyball interesting! I’ve been waiting for your to post a college video so I could ask this question.
So Nice 💘💘💘💘💘💘
