It’s largely an issue with the development scene. American players often take large jumps in volleyball ability when they get to university. Plus, not all of these players are expected to move on to the professional ranks.

Stanford just needs a good setter and they're gonna be competitive. Long Beach needs to work on their floor defense. UCLA will surely exploit that.
