    Best volleyball tutorial on RUclips. Coach Donny provides extremely detailed "how to" descriptions along with supporting examples, often with slow motion video. Extremely talented coach. Well done series.

How to rotate my body In midair For generating more power in my Spike because When I Am doing Armswing standing On the groud I can Rotate my torso with the help of the axis On my leg but In midair I can't Rotate my body because I have no axis to rotate on an nd generate more power

    • @larvitar2065
      @larvitar2065 3 года назад +1

      @@tommyshelby8119 Make sure you jump facing 90 degrees or almost 90 degrees to the side and the key is your left arm (your right arm if you hit with your left hand). The more force you use to swing it down, the faster your torso will twist. And the more area your left arm is moving through, the more torque you'll generate. So i recommend keeping your left arm fully extended all the way through the swing, from when you're aiming with it to when you swing it down beside you. Tucking it in may feel more normal but wont let you twist as much.

    Thanks for this. I tried spiking a volleyball for the first time and it went horrible. My timing was off with the setter and my spikes were completely inconsistent. Turns out my elbow wasn’t high enough. It was splayed towards the right so it kept guiding my hand into the ball sidewards causing the inconsistencies. It was just out of habit from how I throw a baseball. Good thing you cleared it up for me before trials, thanks!

    If you look at some of the best hitters internationally including Clay Stanley they start their arm swings by swinging behind first then follow through up high connecting with the ball. It almost looks like a windmill. I used to hit like that this in high school then I was corrected to use your technique. Although I can bounce a ball over a backboard I don't seem to hit as heavy now. Great videos btw.

      same here :( But I'm 18 and play an instrument so I get unmotivated a lot just thinking that I can´t learn volleyball properly because of injury risk. haikyuu also got me hooked on volleyball and I reaaaaally wanted to learn play although I'm not sporty and have never been interested in a sport before. Alas, maybe a few years from now... But then it will probably be too late

      Guys I am 25 and I learned how to play volleyball in quarantine. Its been 6 months and I now play indoor volleyball with high level players. I didn't play sports in high school or in college. It is possible. I am not high level but I can keep up and I have so much fun. It truly is a fun sport.

    good video, but the steps are different then the actual game; there is no back/neck touch in real game; it going straight from zeus to ball with elbow high
