For consistency, frame time is even more important than framerate. Epic video!
Thanks for once again highlighting the fixes that myself, and the members of the teams I'm part of, have been working on throughout these past few years. GTA IV deserves to be preserved and restored so it can be experienced the way it was envisioned by the original devs at R* North.

Just as I was falling into temptation to replay this game on the steam deck i was afraid of the hell I'd have to go through modding the game but you made it so simple and now I can go back to the best version of Liberty City on the go. So glad i found this. So often, these steam deck tutorial videos call the process super easy, only to skip over the hardest parts you actually need help with. Leaving you to your own devices to mess everything up. Most tutorials are so vapid and unhelpful, hiding behind fancy editing, while the actual meat of the video is condescending ghat gpt level instructions. Glad you made the video with an actual person in mind. Rarely comment praise like this, but playing an old favourite, the way i remember it, without wanting to rip my hair out in the process is a true blessing.
Thank you for finally making this video! The struggle was real using the last video trying to figure out how to do this on steam deck with zero knowledge of using windows programs on linux.
i dont have a steam deck, i have gta 4 on pc, came here for curiosity, gave the like for the subtitles motive for the disabled people, very cool man, keep the work !
Great video. This might go unnoticed but something I had to change was the right trigger behaviour. The default is a hair trigger which makes driving feel like you are either accelerating or not. I switched the right analog behaviour to “Simple Threshold “ and reduced the threshold point. I also reduced the trigger range start which overall feels much better to drive with.

Then run the installer and copy/paste the path into the box. However this still won’t be recognised. You need to add Z: at the beginning, then change all of the \’s to / (to mimic windows paths).
