If Draco were already dead, there wasn't much left for her to risk. But he's alive and save, so she's lying hoping to save her family in the long run. She will certainly have taken into account that Harry is then in her debt. It's about a lot more than just getting into the castle, she really didn't have to lie for that. But with Harry alive after such a killing curse, there is long-term hope. So she saves him. And Voldemort is just a narcissist who probably wouldn't even think that a simple trophy-wife would dare lie to him.
To be fair, Voldemort did try and confirm harry's death. He used the cruciatus curse on Harry and nothing happened. He automatically assumed that Harry was dead. Voldemort didn't consider the possibility of the elder wand belonging to Harry. Firstly Voldemort was surprised that he was knocked out or he also went to some limbo like state after performing the Killing curse. Secondly he was afraid that he had again failed to kill Harry, hence he did not check himself whether harry was dead or not. And lastly he felt relief once Narcissa declared that Harry was dead and he did not even think about using Legilimency thinking that Narcissa would lie about such thing.
No, the death spell didn't work the first time because Voldemort destroyed horcrux made by himself. Even the second time, he wouldn't have been able to kill Harry because the wand belonged to Harry and there is no way the wand would have hurt it's own master
But Narcissa doesn't know these things. If it's only about going to the castle for her, she could have just told the truth, without risking her Life. And even if Voldemort couldn't kill Harry with a wand, he could do it with knife or whatever... Risking her life like that, while knowing that the truth would have the same Outcome, means that its more for her. Now she knows that her son is alive and she wants a future for her family without constant threads. Her Family had fallen from grace, so I could Imagine that she saw a better future for her family without Voldemort.
I don't agree that Voldemort was beaten by "motherly" love and just that. I think people around him when they got to know him and his madness realized that he is not just your average "dark" wizard, he is an unpredictable maniac. There is a difference to be dark and powerful and another thing to be a gory sadistic psychopath that's willing to sacrifice any person for his ultimate gain. He didn't kill people who weren't loyal to him, he was killing loyal people too like Snape. The guy didn't had a shred of any honor inside his brain, he was all over the place. Of course some of his followers will turn on him. Harry potter didn't fought against someone dark, he fought against one of the worst clinical cases of psychopathy we have ever seen on TV.
She cared more about Draco than serving Voldemort. Narcissa Malfoy was worried about Draco so she didn't care about Voldemort. She was grateful that Draco is alive.
It would be very interesting to know how the Death Eaters that broke out of Azkaban were able to get their wands back. I thought the ministry snapped them upon sentencing.
Theory.. what if Voldemort returned in Chamber of secrets itself as his 16 year old self?? he wouldn't remember what happened in his life after he made it a horcrux would he?? just like a save game book in earlier HP video games... even if he returned as Tom Riddle he wouldn't be half as dangerous as Voldemort someone please enlighten me
After Voldemort and the deatheaters' extended stay at Malfoy Manor, I'd imagine Narcissa had quite enough of them messing up her cherised home and furniture.
That still makes zero sense, cuz if she said he's alive, she wouldn't have to risk anything, Voldemort would just kill him on the spot and then they'd walk to the castle like they did thinking he's dead.
Tomas Kotrejch I think so too. I think she lied because she wanted to safe Draco and she was knowing that only Harry could defeat Voldemort, so she get her family back together.
Voldemort had sent her son on a suicide mission to kill Dumbledore. He would repeatedly insult her husband because of his incompetent leadership at battle of department of mysteries and even took away his wand. Her house was being used against her will a d she had no authority even in her own home. So she was fed up with voldemort already.
I dunno but maybe after watching your sister, son, husband get tortured every time they see Harry might have something do with it. Maybe Bella and narcissa had a couple of fights about what was good, and uh, snape visit
The first assumption is so wrong. If she wanted to she could just tell him that he is not dead and then Voldemort would just try again to kill him and they would eventually go to the castle anyway...The second part is true she just lost her faith to Voldemort after all the things her family went through because of him
Him failing to kill Harry yet again dissolved what little faith she had. I feel this is a backhanded deal with Harry- I'll let you live if you help my family. I wonder if she knows that Draco lied when Harry was their prisoner and is trying to follow that example.
The Dark Lord is giving Draco the most awkward hug, his wand is positioned at Draco’s neck so it looks like he is trying to curse h8n or something, has Voldemort ever hugged someone again-?
Q: Why did Narcissa lie to Voldemort about Harry’s death? A: She was in Harry’s debt for saving Draco’s life from the Fiendfyre in the Room of Requirement.
I think she lied cause after realizing that Voldemort didn’t kill Harry, she had the hope there was still a chance to stop Voldemort. Plus, like the video argues, she wanted to protect her son. Also think that if for any reason her or her son where to be in danger with Voldemort, Harry and his entire friends would protect them, specially Harry. Despite Harry and Draco having their differences, Harry would still save Draco and also knew Draco was being forced to do something he didn’t want to be part of.
I'm not sure Narcissa was a devoted servant to the dark lord. I believe she agreed with his purification, pureblood status cause. She was not a Death Eater. After Voldy shot his killing curse @ HP he fainted/blacked out. I think that he underestimated Narsissa (assumed she would tell him the truth) and had not fully redeemed of his strength.
because basically Dumbledores only request (besides strictly following his orders while horcrux hunting) was for Harry not to tell a soul besides Ron and Hermoney, and Harry being “Dumbledores man through and through” took the request very seriously
I would really like to know why voldemort didn't kill Hagrid in the forbidden Forrest but had him tied up . And as morbid as it is why he didn't have nagini eat Harry after he thought he was dead . Just for good measure
Hoping you will return to your Mirror of Erised videos soon. If you would like a character suggestion, perhaps someone who couldn’t come across the mirror, like the Dursley’s; or a darker character like Belatrix.
The main reason why is because narcissa cared about her son so much that she wouldve done anything to make sure he is okay, including lying to voldermort, she was never a true death eater, she was just with lucius at the meetung things, shes also an amazing occulenes, like serverus snape. Sorry if i didnt make any sense!
It was obvious why she lied, she just witnessed Voldemort hit him with the killing curse and he was still alive. She knew it was over for Voldemort and had no reason to stay loyal. She knew that if she helped Harry, she would be able to see her son again
I also think Narcissa was an Occlumens as well. The other thing is when Voldemort killed Harry, he too was injured in the action and may not have been fully recovered. Otherwise he wouldn’t have needed for anyone to see if Harry was still alive.
I know not many fans really like "The Cursed Child" but I'm more curious as to how Delphini could have been conceived. Of course Voldemort couldn't feel love due to he himself being conceived under a love potion... But how would Bellatrix have managed to have a child with him? Would she have used a potion too? I'm really curious about this...
Draco was always a kid in the series. He most likely grew up to be a good-hearted person. Both through his mother’s love, and that his father was sent to Azkaban for life. He basically had to fend for himself and he had to write his own future. After a great wizarding war, I doubt he’d go to the dark side. He was forced to take the route of good and put his talents to great use for once.
Can u do how purebloods and halfbloods and mud bloods are classified. As both harries parents a wizards but mud bloods. Does this make Harry pure blood because his parents are wizards or mudblood?
I believe that had Voldemort’s mother lived, as heartbroken as she was would have loved her son Tom Jr (Voldemort) and he would have turned out different.
I think the reason for Narcissa lying to Voldemort is simply plot convenience. JKR tried hard to explain it, but I don't find the explanation convincing.
Before watching this video: I think she lied because she’s a mother and no mother wants their son dead and I know that she isn’t Harry’s mom but she is one
Because Malfoy family actually hated Voldermot. They only yield to him in fear not for respect and was not interested to make him dictator ruler of wizarding world. Even Draco had the same thought so he lied duing identification of harry in Malloy Manor
bang on on the why but here is the how. She only told Voldemort what he already believed strongly to be true. He felt the connection to Harry break and thought it was because Harry died because he didn't know Harry was one of his horcruxes and the severed connection was caused by the death of that Horcrux.
Just thought in philosophers stone harry got the stone when he looked in the mirror and "wanted to get it but not use it" so it appeared in his pocket but that raises the question where was the stone? Because it couldn't have been in the mirror (quirrill actually suggested that but voldemort at once says "use the boy" no doubt realising that motives matter) where was it really?
I hate the plot point of voldermort not being able to feel love doesn't that essentially mean he was less that human from conception, with no option to change? It makes it sound as if it was just his nature to do what he did how could anyone say that was wrong?
Your reasoning makes little sense to me honestly. If Narcissa would have said that Potter lived, they could have killed him again and would have gone to the castle anyway.
Just thought of this while reading another comment, but why didn't the Elder Wand backfire unto Voldemort when he tried to kill Harry in the forest? How did the curse get to him?
It did backfire yet at the same time it didnt. pls watch the scene carefully. Voldemort fell on his bck n got unconscious. His body finally got weak with only one horcrux nagini left at that point. Plus due to the ancient charm of love n sacrifice, the piece of Riddle's soul in harry's body got destroyed by the elder wand thereby keeping the physical body intact. We saw that flesh of Voldemort in Harry's afterlife where he went to the place of In Between n met albus dumbledore. That's why he was suspicious after gaining consciousness if Harry was really dead. There are 2 factors here which kept Harry safe here. First Lily's love protection in his blood n the allegiance of Elder Wand to Harry which clearly voldemort was unaware about.also you r forgetting one major thing here. Harry went to the forbidden forest on his own account of sacrificing himself for others. To keep others safe from harm while he dies. His desire of protection kept him safe again. He cant die basically cos Tom Riddle foolishly bounded Harry to himself to Lily's protection with Harry's blood while resurrecting himself.

If she hadn't lied, wouldn't Voldemort just use avada kedavra again then go into the castle to show off? She would still see Draco then
No, the death spell didn't work the first time because Voldemort destroyed horcrux made by himself.
You are an actual wizard. I saw Deathly Hallows II today and was thinking about this subject.
Rest in peace Helen McRory you will be missed what a great actress she was
I don't agree that Voldemort was beaten by "motherly" love and just that. Harry potter didn't fought against someone dark, he fought against one of the worst clinical cases of psychopathy we have ever seen on TV.
again another welcome to another installment of harry potter
She cared more about Draco than serving Voldemort. Narcissa Malfoy was worried about Draco so she didn't care about Voldemort. She was grateful that Draco is alive.
Harry was saved by a mother's love more than once..he was never alone
It would be very interesting to know how the Death Eaters that broke out of Azkaban were able to get their wands back. I thought the ministry snapped them upon sentencing.
Omg ya
They got out because Voldemort can control dementors
they might have stole from someone. Or Ollivander ,after he was kidnapped, might have been forced to make wand for the death eaters
Lucius had his old wand, and I think Bellatrix had hers too
Theory.. what if Voldemort returned in Chamber of secrets itself as his 16 year old self??
he wouldn't remember what happened in his life after he made it a horcrux would he?? just like a save game book in earlier HP video games...
even if he returned as Tom Riddle he wouldn't be half as dangerous as Voldemort
someone please enlighten me
After Voldemort and the deatheaters' extended stay at Malfoy Manor, I'd imagine Narcissa had quite enough of them messing up her cherised home and furniture.
Totally satisfying theory with all the details. Thank You!
Yeah but Voldemort wont be able to still kill harry cos of two things. The elder wand n Lily's love in Harry's blood.
@@AtulSingh-uu9vt Yup, that sums it up.
I think it's more because she told Voldemort what he already wanted to believe... so he didn't question her assessment.
How would she have known about that, though? And even if she had known, why would she have needed to ask HARRY if Draco was still alive in that case?
I think she lied cause after realizing that Voldemort didn’t kill Harry, she had the hope there was still a chance to stop Voldemort. Plus, like the video argues, she wanted to protect her son. Also think that if for any reason her or her son where to be in danger with Voldemort, Harry and his entire friends would protect them, specially Harry. Despite Harry and Draco having their differences, Harry would still save Draco and also knew Draco was being forced to do something he didn’t want to be part of.
Amazing Video, As usual!
i love this channel SO much!!!!
I think she was influenced by her sister and husband and jut went along with them. She's a trophy wife pacifist.
Video Suggestion: why didn’t Harry tell anyone in the order what he was doing when hunting for horcruxes.
Because he knew they wouldn't let him go
because basically Dumbledores only request (besides strictly following his orders while horcrux hunting) was for Harry not to tell a soul besides Ron and Hermoney, and Harry being “Dumbledores man through and through” took the request very seriously
If many people would have known voldemort would have found out
Because Dumbledore had told him not to.
Probally because she was done being loyal to him too
LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!!!!
Theory: What if Voldemort wasn't concieved with a love potion
Great vid 👍
I would really like to know why voldemort didn't kill Hagrid in the forbidden Forrest but had him tied up . And as morbid as it is why he didn't have nagini eat Harry after he thought he was dead . Just for good measure
She Loves 💚 her son above everything else
Hoping you will return to your Mirror of Erised videos soon. If you would like a character suggestion, perhaps someone who couldn’t come across the mirror, like the Dursley’s; or a darker character like Belatrix.
Bellatrix could be a fun one to do, I will make that one next!
@@HarryPotterTheory Thank you! I feel very honoured and privileged to contribute to your work in this way.
If your reading this, harry potter theory, I really like your videos and they help me understand the harry potter books better.
Great video once again
People don't need to be in love to have sex and have a child. His lack of emotions wouldn't affect the way he functions physically.
Bellatrix is a Vergin Mother.
Viagramusilus spell
Accio cum
Well you know.... they fucked
When harry got up why didn’t Voldemort kill narcisa
Bc she and lucious and draco ran away as soon as Harry woke up and fought Voldemort
Harry was the bigger threat.
He would have done it later.
Draco would have been tortured.
Answer:- Mother's Love
I wonder if the Malfoy 's actually wanted Harry to live?
I'm wondering this too
Great Job i Love your films
This is why you always double tap.... Just to be sure
I think the reason for Narcissa lying to Voldemort is simply plot convenience. JKR tried hard to explain it, but I don't find the explanation convincing.
I disagree. She lied because it was the only way for her to make sure Draco was safe. Despite everything, she loved her son
Great video
Is it the power of love that made Narcissa able to lie to Voldemort (a powerful legilimens) without him reading her thoughts?
Before watching this video: I think she lied because she’s a mother and no mother wants their son dead and I know that she isn’t Harry’s mom but she is one
Did Dumble notice Crouch jr. when Crouch taught at Hogwarts
How would Narcissa verify if Harry Potter is speaking the truth about her son?
harry is dead......by order of the peaky fucking blinders
Can you do a video about why voldemorts wand was kept safe?
amazing video btw
Who else thinks narcissa is so pretty?
great theory!! i just watched the last movie and wondered why she did that but i had my hunch
Why the snow effect?
Because Malfoy family actually hated Voldermot. They only yield to him in fear not for respect and was not interested to make him dictator ruler of wizarding world. Even Draco had the same thought so he lied duing identification of harry in Malloy Manor
Just this Chanel can’t get bettter!
Can you do what would Hagrid see in the mirror of erised.
I love how narcissa and lucius had different love for draco
And all the other people that were standing there didn’t notice her lying either I assume?
bang on on the why but here is the how.
She only told Voldemort what he already believed strongly to be true. He felt the connection to Harry break and thought it was because Harry died because he didn't know Harry was one of his horcruxes and the severed connection was caused by the death of that Horcrux.
Why did they not use "liquid luck" to win the battle against evil?
But they did...?
Because as slughorn said it is almost impossible to make and extremely dangerous if Made wrong.they aren’t the exact words but the the along the lines
Or the opposite
Narcissa did the "Italian switcheroo"
Just thought in philosophers stone harry got the stone when he looked in the mirror and "wanted to get it but not use it" so it appeared in his pocket but that raises the question where was the stone? Because it couldn't have been in the mirror (quirrill actually suggested that but voldemort at once says "use the boy" no doubt realising that motives matter) where was it really?
I hate the plot point of voldermort not being able to feel love doesn't that essentially mean he was less that human from conception, with no option to change? It makes it sound as if it was just his nature to do what he did how could anyone say that was wrong?
R.I.P. Helen McCrory
I really love to see a mothers of the wizarding world
Your reasoning makes little sense to me honestly.
If Narcissa would have said that Potter lived, they could have killed him again and would have gone to the castle anyway.
No, Voldemort wanted to kill Harry himself but he couldn't, and think about the fact that Narcissa only had few seconds to make a decision
Rip Helen Mcrory ❤️
Theory: Sirius loved James?
