- Here we go again. Instead of Wish.com this time I decided to throw myself over the coals and buy a bunch of the "highest-rated" EDC gear from Temu. This was my first time buying anything from Temu but I've heard such good things! (sarcasm intended...)

If you’re not a professional woodworker, some of the woodworking stuff isn’t too bad. They’re probably not 20 year items, but for occasional use they can get the job done for less money. You’ve got to be picky or skeptical though.
I have bought quite a few things from Temu, but they have all been little random odds and ends things that I thought could be useful, but wasn't overly concerned with the quality of, and to be honest I have been pleasantly surprised with a lot of it. Actual EDC tools though? Like you said about the multi-tool or knifes... they would definitely just be for backups to stash in places, and not something I'd carry daily. I will say this about a couple things though. I got a "knock off" heroclip mini off there for like $3, and I cannot tell a difference between it and a real one from Gear Aid in look, feel, and function. Also, I got some molle EDC pouches that feel and function (so far) every bit as nice as Maxpedition at literally 1/8th the price.

You REALLY need to be skeptical when reading the descriptions. I’ve been happy with. 85%ish of the things I’ve gotten.
Try a “gentleman’s” folding knife. Most aren’t too bad. Easy carry too. The blade centering is easily adjusted.
I can adjust the centering up to a point but can never get it perfect

Ive seen some videos about pouches from Temu. And they actuslly seem to have some decent pouches.
The reason that wallet has two areas for cash is supposed to be if you're travelling you can have 2 different currencies. Or to keep receipts.

Have the Work Sharp Professional Precision Adjust showing up in an hour or so. Can’t wait. I have 4-5 other styles like stones, plates etc. But excited to try that out. Hopefully a bit better than the temu. Lol. I got that same multi tool from Ali express for $2 out of curiosity. It’s not bad. I’m sticking with leatherman but to throw in a random edc kit for a car I never use…. Why not.
I never picked up the professional version but I have the V2 and love it.
But I always find myself going back to a traditional whetstone and strop. It just works flawlessly
It says work sharp, not workshop, I was looking at it too the little red and yellow Carrie sharpener tell me how was it? They got the same thing with three different prices with three different names being the more expensive one and I’m sure workshop has them built in China. It’s built in China, then Timu probably has a line on it, but if it’s a Kershaw and says made in USA and you’re buying it from China, I would question that but I wanna see it on video
at min 8.45 you said you cut your thumb with the first knife you reviewed but if you go back to the 7 min mark you are already wearing a band aid on the thumb you cut. 🤔

Years ago (5) I bought a small folder and multi tool combo set from Northwest trail. It is the exact as your temu multi tool. I have carried and used them for the last five years and have held up. So...I am thinking northwest trail has a China company making them. ✔️
I really just have this notion that Temu and Wish are likely involved with sex trafficking at some level. That's why I stick with tried-and-true companies with sterling reputations, like AliExpress and TikTok. 🤣

I suspect the “steel” on the multitool will bend if you torque it much at all.
If not the tool itself, then the weakest spot between the tool, point of attachment, etc.

I have bought repeatedly from Temu. My through away ratio is about 1 in 20.
Well, when it comes to temu and co… I would recomend to safe money for the real deal. Get a swiss army knife or a leatherman and use it for tge next 3 decades.
Might be cheaper than buying one of wish or temu every other month

my pouch comes from temu, for 3 bucks it does a great job keeping all the tools I have in my pocket organized? its held up for about a year now

Honestly wouldn't buy anything from temu not only is the quality poor, but what from what I've seen the company seems pretty unethical. I will always pay more to get a better product and peace of mind it wasn't made in a some awful sweatshop.
I tried to buy something on temu but it was impossible to tell whether you were just buying an accessory for a product or the entire product so I gave up. If a seller doesn't want to be upfront with information I will never go back.
And that's the trick, "seller". Just like ANY 3rd party site, looking at the SELLER RATINGS is just as important as looking at the product ratings. E-Bay (and everywhere else), is just the same.
Temu accepts returns. Get your money back for goodness sake!

I actually bought the same knife from Temu and did not experience the same issues. The opening was smooth and the centering is great. The sharpness out of the box cut paper. I have been carrying this knife for a couple of months and it has been holding up well. Anything from Temu is a roll of the dice it seems.

When buying from these cheap sites you should stick with simple stuff thats got less moving parts you end up with better stuff. Also keep your expectations lol. Never buy something you need quality on 😂😂

Bro, the knife was $3.98 what were you expecting? It was obviously a crap knife. I actually bought the same one from the dollar store but it actually had a liner lock and was branded by DeWalt I believe.

I get where you're coming from, but there's something that bugs some of us regarding what you brought up.
Sure, the materials, etc., aren't going to be as good in a cheap knife. But it doesn't cost more to design a knife so that it opens completely, or for it to more or less be centered when opened. I don't care that my $9 BassPro SAK mini knock-off has a blade that is barely better than tinfoil. Again, you get what you pay for, and it DOES cut. I care that the freakin' scissors are janky and useless. They have one purpose. If they aren't built for that one purpose, it's no longer a matter of it being my fault for spending less on scissors. It's their fault for not delivering the tool they promised. Perhaps they invented paper and gunpowder centuries ago, but somehow can't pull off a decent pivot point.
Similarly, in clothing, why does the $100 merino wool base layer top fit so much better than the $25 blend one when, again, fit doesn't cost anything to fix that? It's just a matter of spending the same money building a piece of clothing based on a slightly different pattern.
And it's not about trademarks or patents. This is China we're talking about. They do what they want.
So it's really about caring so little that a company doesn't even care to hit the bare minimum design cues that should be able to be achieved regardless of price.
This isn't to attack you or your position. I understand it. I'm just offering a little insight into the minds of those of us who do have a bit of an issue with this sort of thing.
