Thanks for sharing. I am selling my open trailer and going enclosed. I need/want my garage back and I don't want to expose my ride to the harsh Arizona sun. I figure I can also store all of my gear in one spot. A lot more pricey but I get my garage back.
I use an Alpine Design rack on my long bed 3500 Ram with ramps. It takes a little longer to strap all 4 wheels down but I can tow my bumper pull travel trailer and my sea doo behind that legally in Nevada 😱 I have air bags and it handles good
When I made the trip up to cross bar last year we was having snow threat and they salted the roads. By the time I got to the park I was completely covered in salt with my open trailer
Having owned both trailers I would prefer open easier to load and unload SXS ,better gas ⛽️ mileage, also backing up is a lot easier with open trailer for visibility , I love using the enclose trailer for storage when I’m home instead of filling up my garage with helmets, boots, etc. also can’t beat the security aspect when traveling but if I could only own one open, great video.
I'm thinking of a enclosed for my sxs for two reasons. One is the security when traveling. 2nd is for storing my sxs when at home . If I need more deck space for more machines or traveling from home to a destination in one day I'll probably use my open trailer.
I went with an enclosed trailer, I just have one machine and when your at hotel you can actually sleep without worrying about it. Might be different if I had a big family with more machines.
We agree 100%. If we didn't have so many machines, I probably would go the enclosed route myself. I prefer the peace of mind that everything is locked up.
Im currently in between and shopping , one thing about enclosed is you have privacy for changing into riding gear and changing nasty clothes when your done ridin
I’ve gone back and forth with this same issue. I really would want a enclosed but this ole man trying to get in and out of the car is not going to be easy unless you get a side hatch.
Just to change the subject really quick.. people please stop wearing a dirt bike motorcycle helmet!! Ya don't need the visor it looks stupid when ya driving a sxs. It's for the sun glare, don't need it if you're under a roof. It's for 2-3&4/quads wheel guys ..

dang... we've never had that happen but that doesn't sound fun.

We appreciate you sharing the info. We agree 100%.
Needed to add photos of the trailers as you were discribing them for better understanding. Otherwise great info.
We appreciate the feedback. thank you.

Thanks for sharing. I would agree with that.

It's also really nice with an open trailer when the machine gets dirty/muddy. The dirt just flies away versus collecting in an enclosed trailer.
that's a good point, thanks for sharing.
Enclosed for security and dryness, open for day trips so you can pull up to a self car wash place to clean off the mud and dust as easily as possible.

you right about that.

100% agree, we feel the same way.
Added rear window and windshields and roof doing 80 mph expressway enclosed for the win
That’s a good set-up.

That’s a lame comment…sxs has no sun visors and a roof offers no protection riding into the sun
