  • This video is the first video that I have done regarding PC build or repairs and I loved doing it. Its about 20 minutes longer than it should be and I apologize for that. I will get better at editing for future videos. I make a few mistakes here and there, but its a bit hilarious at times. Let me know what you think in the comments. Enjoy and thanks for watching.

    One Small discrepancy... The Graphics card is a Nvidia GTX 960...... NOT a 970... I apologize if I said it wrong.

      @@WhiplashHell Question for you. I was reading that the R2 can get pretty warm during heavy gaming. Do you have any mods you recommend like putting taller rubber feet? The CPU and GPU fans are tight together and I think its custom fitting so I dont think I can put a custom fan and heat sink inside. I modified an older Predator 2.1 case to fit a 360mm radiator but think I hit the wall with this small case.

      Luke G I think it draws air from bottom.... vents all the way around... I would love to put a better heatsink and fan on it... but I know of none that fits... the case would have to be modified... I was thinking of looking around for something but I have not had the opportunity... sorry I couldn’t be of more help

    Its the case. Take off the case and you will see about 10-20 degrees cooler. And the jet sound goes away only when you play high demand games. Watch.

      Thanks for tip but I would never leave the case off… when I was using it I got used to the sound and wasn’t that big of deal… I re paste the gpu and cpu because the original paste was dried up and causing over heating.. and the re paste worked… no more issues since… thanks for watching 😎

    I bought one of those for my daughter a few years back, she still has it and no clue if she has ever opened it up if she needs to at least have a ref video for it

      They are good starter gaming computers.... I used mine for a year to record videos off of and play games before I decided to upgrade to the R8... Granted it was mainly 7 days to die, but I really like that computer... thanks for the reference though... yeah that GPU needed some new thermal paste pretty bad... thanks so much for watching.

    Do you know what's the better CPU that Alienware Alpha R2 can have?

    • @WhiplashHell
      @WhiplashHell  3 года назад +1

      Not sure... but if I remember right at the time that I purchased this computer the best cpu was an i7 ... I think a 6700 series... which is what is in this computer..

    you can buy an "Alienware Graphics Amplifier" and plug it in the back of your R2 and put almost any graphics card in it. Best way to upgrade your system mine is running any game out there, most in 4k at over 30fps. It all depends on the graphics card you pick but that system has a lot of life left in it.
    If you don't have the hole you can cut it in the plastic, the plug is there on the motherboard. There are videos on youtube that show you how.

      Benoit Tremblay that’s a great tip... I actually thought of doing this on many occasions but I opted to purchase a new aurora R8 instead... and I love it... I use the R2 for the grandkids... they play games on it... mainly Fortnite but they have a lot of fun with it... and mine does have the appropriate plug in for the amplifier.....thanks for watching 😎

      kenneth mason maybe go to dell website and support and see what you can find there.... find specs for the computer you own or contact dell yourself and see what they say... I wouldn’t pay for support but that’s up to you
