    What camera backpack can you recommend for a larger setup like S5 II or EOS R6 with 60-600mm + second body + 24-70mm and maybe 50mm lenses?
    On top batteries, filters and a dji mini 3 drone would be awesome.

    • @JeremyNeipp

      This is probably the one I'd recommend the highest below! I can fit exactly what you said into it and it's really well made. Lots of organizational compartments as well and small attention to detail features I really like for traveling.

    Great video Jeremy. I think the new Sigma lens is a good choice for many of us, even though with some cons, like the weight and the short foot that in some cases can be a little tricky to balance the lens in a tripod.

    Hi Jeremy! Thanks for your in-field review. I've been looking forward to this lens for Z-Mount but Sigma failed to deliver it! I have a 150-600 C Sigma lens which is aging quite fast. It seems that it focuses slower and slower every month. So I was pretty excited about the release. There were rumors that Sigma would release it for the Z-Mount. Maybe later this year?
    By the way, what can you tell about the focusing speed of this new glass? Is it really fast enough for wildlife photographers?

    • @JeremyNeipp
      @JeremyNeipp  Год назад

      Yea it’s a bummer no Z mount yet, but maybe it’s coming! In terms of the focusing speed it’s lighting fast and I you’ll have no problems there if native to the mount type, so just a matter of seeing if they make it Z mount or not

    • @TravelNatureEU
      @TravelNatureEU Год назад

      @@JeremyNeipp That's great news to me about focusing speed. Thanks a lot for the reply. I hope Sigma will finally release it for Z mount, hopefully this spring. Right now I use my old Sigma with FTZ converter which worked pretty stable at first but, as I said, it is getting slower and slower. I think due to tear and wear. I'm missing so many great shots. Another issue is the noise and stabilization for video. Now I never use stabilization while filming as it's too shakey and I can't get rid of the noise of the focus mechanism even if I use external mic. Is this lens quiet enough? What do you think about stabilization? Thanks again!

  • @Jimmiehammarstrom47
    @Jimmiehammarstrom47 Год назад +1

    Great review of the lens! But, what I was thinking trough the video was: Is it too heavy for using it handheld a day? even it has great IBIS, it looks like when you are full zoomed out its very shaky, maybe you can fix that in post. But would you prefer to have it on a tripod or monopod for video? Maybe its better for taking photos handheld rather then video? Would love to hear your thoughts about that! // Jimmie

    • @JeremyNeipp
      @JeremyNeipp  Год назад +1

      Some great questions! I would argue that it depends on your use… for example as you saw in the video I was in a lot of uncomfortable positions holding the lens without proper arm support, so it was more shaky then it should be. If I was in proper arm positioning then the 6 stop stabilization at 600mm would have shown more. So I’d argue it’s not too heavy, but to each person it could be different. Ultimately, image stabilization truly helps with micro jitters more than wider sweeping shakes which this lens handled exceptionally in my opinion. I noticed an improvement from my Sigma 150-600mm Sport with 4 stops on it for sure

    I really want this over the Sony 200-600 but the Sigma sucks in air every time it shows out which will get dust inside, especially when dusty in summer out west. If I could find a way to filter the air going inside I would buy the Sigma.

    Not sure if you've already covered this, but have you used the Sigma 1.4x and 2.0x teleconverters with this lens and/or the Sigma 150-600mm lens?

    • @JeremyNeipp
      @JeremyNeipp  Год назад +2

      I have used both of those, I’m not a huge fan of either teleconverter however. The 2.0 really gave detail loss for me, the 1.4 wasn’t horrible but also wasn’t any better than just cropping on my 50MP sensor

    PLEASE READ- SAVE SOME BUCKS!!!: Several commenters have stated the price of 105mm filters being prohibitive. Simple solution is buy (or may already own) a 95mm CPL, ND...whichever! Then purchase an inexpensive 105mm-95mm step-down ring, screw your 95mm filter onto it and screw that combo onto the front of your 60-600 OR 150-600mm Sport and there you have it! No vignetting whatsoever at any focal length/aperture setting. I even have the Sigma 105mm Protector filter on the front of this lens, then the 95mm combo and still NO VIGNETTING! I have the Canon EF mount version of this adapted to my GH6. Great lens...mostly used for video of wildlife, landscape and the moon.

      Standard 4.5-6.3 for the range. So yes of course it’s not a prime, but no worse than any other super telephoto zoom
