    just a side point, the xt30ii comes with the 26 megapixel sensor not 24. That is important as the 26 megapixel sensor had the better AF. I own two xt-30ii's and love them. I tried the x-t5 and found the 40 megapixel sensor overkill as it is more likely to show lens defects and also shows where focus was missed more when you go pixel peeping.
    I agree with what you said about xt30ii. It is smaller than x100vi also.

      I stand corrected. You are right. Maybe I should script my episodes :) the Xtrans 5 cameras don't do it for me. Seems Fuji is heading into a direction which isn't mine.

    Excellent shortlist. I went through this process a year ago and picked the fuji x70. It's a beauty.and like you say people hardly notice it.

      Thank you for the positive feedback. Highly appreciated! The X70 when I received it, didn't impress me that much, until I started using it and the colour science just blew me away.

    Well done: a great set of options!
    I have a Fujifilm X10. It is a little zoom which has the most beautiful metal body.

    • @PaulTakesPhotos
      @PaulTakesPhotos  26 дней назад

      Awesome camera, considered it but found the X70 better suited my needs. And yes the build and design of older Fuji's is way better than the latest and greatest

    • @Democratiser
      @Democratiser 26 дней назад

      @ yes the X70 is really an orphan camera rather than a follow on from the x10, x20 and x30. As you say it is a Ricoh GRIII equivalent. It is disappointing there are no contemporary versions.
      I do wish Fujifilm and others reverted to metal bodies for their pocketable / semi pocketable cameras. I always felt confident about shoving the X10 in a pocket but not for example my Canon G7x II; in particular the Canon has a flimsy self-closing lens cover which is very fragile.

    A combo of Lumic GX9 + Lumix 20mm f1,7 for 500 euros is what makes me stop looking for a used Fujifilm X100F ot X100V. Saved some money for Christmas Holiday Vacation. The Lumix have a really nice color rendering which is really underated in my opinion.

      I love my GX9. It is an incremental improvement of the GX85. The GX9 has L monochrome D which is my favorite B&W jpeg. Love the exposure compensation on the top plate. The GX85/9 paired with the Panasonic-Leica 15 is a killer street kit.

    My current EDC cameras are either the Fuji X70 or XT10. Both Xtrans II. I got with the X70 for extreme portability and the XT10 when I want thr flexibility of the viewfinder and interchangeable lenses.

    Great review. I have an X70 and a few Micro 4/3 Olympus cameras. I’d say the EP3 is fabulous especially with the Olympus 17mm &45mm f1.8 lenses. Another wort a mention is the Fuji XM1, which when paired with a manual TT Artisans 25mm pancake lens is almost the same size as the X70 but gives options on lenses, so focal lengths are no longer an issue. The only fault with this is that lens is quire heavy so the camera won’t sit flat due to the weight of the lens. I’d say the X70 is always my choice when i want a light camera, especially for travelling around. Once you get it into manual aperture and shutter speed settings, it’s fabulous. It reminds me of an old film camera (like the Olympus trip or Ricoh 800, but with adjustable everything) and even the jpegs are great and you can shoot jpeg and RAW files together.

      Thanks for the recommendations! The X70, of all the cameras I have owned and currently own, has really surprised me, especially the colour rendering. Just ab fab, especially on bright sunny days and one hour before dusk

    I have a Fuji XE3. Love it with the TT artisan 25mm f2. Love the Ricoh GRIII and the Fuji x70 too. GRIII is best to bring everywhere, and transfers raw files to the phone with the app. Very convenient and lovely images.

      XE cameras are great, but somehow they don't agree with the size of my hands 😔. GRIII series are amazing. I do find that the photo app takes ages transfer a few files.

    My X100 alternative is the XM-1 and 18mm f2, and a Lumix GX800 (£80) with 14mm, 20mm or 25mm or the Pana / Leica 15mm f1.7 Summilux.

    Panasonic has about tue best contrast/blacks. Slightly better than Nikon or Pentax, and even brighter colours. The LX series are great pocket cameras, and later models have 4K and EVFs, and all have slightly cropped M43 swnsors.
    I personally prefer to shoot full-frame, and don't mind having my camera on my hip at all times, but you have me almost reconsidering an RX100 series... mk 3 or later. Need that EVF.
    Fun video. Cheers!

    • @PaulTakesPhotos
      @PaulTakesPhotos  26 дней назад

      I do love my Sony a7 III but only use it for all-day music events. The LX series is great but sadly Panasonic has discontinued it. Colour science on Lumix is so good and underrated as for the Sony RX100 series, it is a niche segment, but one which really delivers. And it is light and fun to use. So Id recommend it to anyone to give it a try
