Me too. She has the same type of humour as Selena Gomez, watch "vogue 73 questions with Selena Gomez" and they have the same humour which is what i love
probably because their upset comments were about the color of a shirt and not wearing gloves, not hugely important in the grande scheme of things plus they aren't her so why should they care?
That ship has sailed?? Girl, I'm 47 years old and I have sandy blonde hair with PURPLE roots! In this day and age you gotta be you no matter what your age
You’re definitely never too old to do whatever you want with your hair or body! I pierced my nose when I was almost 40. I’m 44 now and I’ve had crazy colored hair since I was 11. Currently it’s purple. I’ve never had anyone say it was ridiculous or that I’m too old. I get genuine compliments about it all the time though. 😊 It always makes me sad when friends say they wish they could do it, I always tell them YOU CAN! Just do it! As long as you don’t have a job that would fire you for unnatural colored hair, why not?😃 Life is too short to not go for it!
I'm 42 and rocking dark brown hair with blue streaks right now. Started with bright red, then, went to purple, and now blue. I'll be an old old woman and I will still rock whatever color hair I want to. F*ck "beauty standards". I have my own. 💖
Oh my gosh, you are freaking hilarious. I absolutely LOVE how real you are! Thanks for clarifying that you weren’t worried about ruining your white top in that other video because, whew, that was stressful ;-)
I recommend using a clarifying shampoo first and then your purple or blue shampoo so the pigment can get into your hair shaft instead of applying it in dirty hair
I have the fanola one and LOVE IT despite the one less star haha. The Joico is okay. But the fanola is superrrrr saturated with blue omg it looks almost black in your hand! Give it a try! I also find personally you get a better result if you apply to damp/ almost dry hair and let it sit for some time maybe 15 minutes under a cap! My hair was a yellow bleach blonde and after some patience and a few uses it's close to silvery platinum!
Hooray for trying the BLUE shampoo! I had recommended the Fanola No Orange, and after you run out of this one you may still want to try it. It is VERY PIGMENTED, and really gives great results, especially when used over time. I think this shampoo will work well too, the key is to use it several times, just using it every once in a while doesn’t work. Great job❤️
The rule of thumb with toning in general is to cancle out undertones. If you look at the color wheel the opposite of orange is blue and the opposite of yellow is purple. Your hair for ie in this video has a warmer undertone that looks orange when brazzy. Which is why the blue toning shampoo is more noticeable then the purple. So blue for orange brass and purple for yellow brass.
I use Joico. Girl... use half that bottle on your entire head... dry hair... put a plastic shower cap or tie a plastic bag or whatever. I use the shower caps from the Dollar Tree. So bag your soppy wet blue hair and wait 30 minutes. Then shower it all out. You will be amazed at the results! It will give you the prettiest natural highlights... light and bright blonde no brassiness. I love doing this in between salon appts
I wonder if applying the blue conditioner to damp hair would allow for more color correcting. Having myself and kids dampen our hair before swimming seems to have reduced a lot of the chlorine uptake into the hair shaft.
You have lovely hair. I love the colour of the shampoo when you squeezed a bit for it to pop out the top, so pretty. How long did it take for your hands to go back to normal colour? Xxxx
If you want it then you are never too old to have fun colored hair!!! I had hot pink hair from age 29 to almost 36 & I got compliments on it almost every time I left the house. It is a lot more maintenance though, that's why I don't still have the pink.
Thanks Lou, I have similar blonde-hair-turned-brassy issues with my hair and I did't even know that blue shampoo existed. Do you think the blue shampoo would have a more intense effect if you used it regularly like once a week or something? Have a great weekend! Also, if you want rainbow coloured hair, I think you should go for it! I tried purple streaks in my hair when I was in my 30s. I did them myself with some purple dye I got at Sally's Beauty Supply. They were very temporary, they faded to pastel pink and then they completely washed out after a couple of washes, but it was so much fun to try! p.s. I will love your videos even if your hands are always blue and all your white shirts have purple splotches. ;)
Just got ultas mailer, and they’re getting ready to have a huge sail on the jumbos. Purple, blue shampoo, etc.. I believe it’s for most of the month of July
Hey, Skippy! Hello from Arizona! Just wanted to recommend "Shimmer Lights" Shampoo and conditioner (sold at Walmart too). It looks like an indigo color. It tones many shades of brassy levels. It is not to expensive too, and you can even sleep in the conditioner as well. Take care, and thank you for your sharing on RUclips. :-)
You should’ve gone with the Fanola. I just bought it off Amazon and love it, but I can’t use too often or I’ll get slight blue tones in my very platinum hair.
I agree with everyone saying the ship has not sailed! If you don’t want to do a “crazy/wild” rainbow color maybe something pastel instead? Or rose gold?
You are my new best friend, just thought I'd let you know. I don't make videos, but when a "professional" to tells me I should or shouldn't be doing something I just laugh on the inside and do what I want. Loved the two videos so far that I've watched.
I think if you use the blue shampoo once or twice a week and a good conditioner, you will start to notice a difference. I lather up my hair, then wash all my other bits (face/body) then rinse out the shampoo (so it’s probably on my wet hair for 4 minutes). I do it regularly (purple - as I’m a cooler blonde) and it makes a difference. 👍 Good Stuff - you are quite entertaining 😉💕
I LOVE LOVE your sense of humor 😂😂👏🏼 You’re great. My hair is very blonde. Leave purple OR blue shampoo in your DRY hair for an HOUR. It’ll work a lot better.❤️
Your awesome. I leave them both at the same time and I leave for 10 min. Sometimes I put coconut oil and then out that in as well and leave 20. You can also add peroxide and that will amp it up.
I have “blonde” hair now, and I use purple shampoo once a week to keep the yellows away. I’ve been wondering if I should try blue, because I was brunette for 48 years... it worked so well for you!!
I’ve thought about using blue because I have natural red I want to get rid of. Thanks for the video! I can definitely see a change with the blue. Good to know, I’ll experiment ☺️
Can I just say, this is the first video of yours I have watched (trying to figure out if I need blue or purple), you are so likeable! I feel like you’re really talking to me like a good friend. Even made me laugh a couple times. Anyway, thanks for the info and comparison. I think I need to try blue.
You've saved a lot of my time trying all of these color fixes. My hair's super brassy -- it's always skewed toward red. Today I'm using toner for the first time evah! But this shampoo looks so much easier that I'll likely try that when the toner doesn't work for me. Yes, I said 'when'. Because I'm a defeatist. Perhaps I'll be surprised!
@@lala_bee Thank you, Lala! I did get my Wella toner at Sally's. It definitely made a difference! But I think I'll try blue shampoo next. Because, easier!
@@lala_bee Don't think I don't appreciate your advice, Lala because I really do! Now a week later, my hair is still pretty brassy even after the toner. Although I only got one bottle of toner and one of developer and I had a feeling it wouldn't be enough. Trying L'Oreal Purple Conditioner next!
Thank you thank you thank YOU. I've been doing research on whether to use blue or purple. I also have the same colors in my hair as you do (I've recently had my hair highlighted and the salon did not met my expectations). I will be buying the blue 💙 thanks to you. You're a life saver, money saver & time saver. Loves ya dollface
How often do you use it on dry hair? It’s a great result because it still kept the warmth vs I think a purple shampoo would make it more neutral and ashy.
I just ordered the oVertone blue toning conditioner. And I was starting to worry if it wouldn't work on my hair, I have been using purple shampoo for many years anytime I have went blonde. But this is the first time my hair has been more orange and brassy. So thank you for this video and you're awesome . I subscribed and will be watching more videos.
Can you make a video on its use after week 1, week 4, week 8... to show differences? And for bright brown to white, would you recommend blue after dyeing/bleaching - or purple?
I've been using fanola blue, and it really does a good job. My hair was about the same color of yours. I've found that the fanola is super pigmented, and does a great job. The one you're using is just too light, and has green in it! Try fanola!
Omg this is again the video I needed. Girl you are way too much in my head lol we have similar hair color and I can’t get any results from purple. Well, I’m off to buy blue shampoo!
We have a brand of shampoo here in Australia called Fudge. They make both purple and blue shampoos and the pigments in these shampoos are very strong and I’ve found they work better than any other brand I’ve used. I highly recommend the Fudge shampoos if you can go online and see if you can get your hands on some. Another thing, the Fudge blue shampoo doesn’t turn turquoise or green when you put it in your hair. It stays true to colour.
Maybe if you used the blue shampoo once every two weeks, it would keep your hair brighter all over??!!? Is that what you’re supposed to do with the tone correcting shampoos?? Great video, love ya Lou!! How’s Ava doing, are you loving the teenage years yet?
I am actually a cosmetology student and if your hair has brassy tones you have to cancel it out with blue toner or a blue shampoo. If you have more of a yellow tone then you cancel it out with purple.
Your personality and humor reminds me of me! And well I like it! My teens friends say I’m the cool mom, and I think cuz of my humor! Oh I sooo want to do some purple in my hair, um because I AM the cool mom!!! 50+ momma here! We should just do what we want and forget the judgments don’t ya think?? Glad I stumbled across you, I will be subscribing. Btw love how you do your eye makeup!
I have been binge-watching people's experiments with toning or coloring blondish tones because I am growing out my white/gray roots and wanted to find an easier way to transition with a silver tone. I keep coming back to your videos because you crack me up! lol I bought Overtone's pastel silver to try in a couple of days and fear using it now. I don't want to dye my hair white to get the silver tone, but that seems to be what people are saying....I might try the purple conditioner to see if it helps with my color since I don't have the blue right now. Or I might just go ahead and try the purple pastel silver...I don't know...I'm scared! I don't want green hair!!! I'll settle down now.... Thank you for trying out these products for us.....I guess, we won't know unless we try, right? I really don't want green hair...
You can get joico for cheaper at marshalls! My hairdresser told me to get the purple shampoo and I’m not fully back to blonde. I’m more orange toned idk....it does make more sense to do the blue. I’m so confused
💜 your personality your videos are great 😊👍my hair is lighter I've always went with the purple to ward off the yellowness that creeps in uggg! Thanks for your review!😊
Some day if you don't see a difference you don't really have Brad it's just a yellow tone of blonde and purple shampoo, conditioners, or masks won't give you a visual difference. I have highlighted hair between a level 8-10 and I guess the level 8 just looks yellow next to me level 10 highlights 🤷🏼♀️
Correct, blue cancels out red tones in brown hair but can be used on blonde. Purple shampoo cancels out yellow tones in blonde hair. You can use the blue on your blonde hair, because it tones it lighter too. If you had platinum hair and you added a designer color of baby blue your hair will wash out a cool blonde color after so many shampoos. Artic fox designer colors because if you use a blue in manic panic or other brands you'll get green tones when it washes out. Artic fox is the only color I know about that doesn't wash out green.
Your dry sense of humor and dead-pan delivery give me life. 😂
Taters Precious ikr and some people don’t understand it then get upset. Lol

Purple is to remove gold and blue is to remove brassy reddish looking blonde

💜 your personality your videos are great 😊👍my hair is lighter I've always went with the purple to ward off the yellowness that creeps in uggg! Thanks for your review!😊
Some day if you don't see a difference you don't really have Brad it's just a yellow tone of blonde and purple shampoo, conditioners, or masks won't give you a visual difference. I have highlighted hair between a level 8-10 and I guess the level 8 just looks yellow next to me level 10 highlights 🤷🏼♀️
I absolutely noticed a big difference! With more usage your hair will lighten more. I know mine did with the purple! 😀
I washed my hair with a blue shampoo once and so many people have said how much blonder it looks! Xxxx
Excellent Video you hair looks great! I love the color chart
Thx Lou 💙 I definitely see a difference it just adds to your beauty!!
Try the HASK BLUE SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER, IT WIRK REALLY GOOD NO STAINS AND IT SMELLS GREAT
