My mom had the GE filterflo raising four boys. It did an excellent job of w ashing. I love the yellow Maytag. I love its agitation and smooth sound. I want to find one like that.
You have some of the best older washers I've seen, literally love all of them. Of course the filter flo is my favorite, love the recirc, pump, and love it's action, thing beats those cloths clean, spashes all over, freaking love it. I do auto work, and my cloths are hell for washers. Forget any modern load sensing, I can only do one outfit, unless I want my cloths being pushed through dirty vbalck water for an hour or so.. which doesn't really help... Even a modern machine that fills I doubt would work given the weak action they all seem to feature. Baby 1/4 hp motors with weak agitation. I need alot of water and powaaa.. and multiple rinses is nice. But I'll take a decent one, but never a spray rinse. I'd love any of those fine old girls you got there. Their all great in my book. That orthe Maytag commercial unit that fills all the way , usus heat direct from boiler, and has the double action agitator. Or the whirlpool commercial that I believe is no longer produced, any other modern HARDLY EFFICIEENT, won't serve me, and I fell would likely break quickly. Also modern front loaders are worse with the lack of water. Like I said I don't want my stuff sitting in black break dust and oild filled water with some soap. I refuse to call that. Clean.. as of now I don't have any automatic and I use a Twin tub from amaxon and a laundromat which usus wascomat front loaders, that fill decently.. the twin tub is small and can't do much and god the water gets dirty but at least I can get my work stuff, clean.. well cleaner... It's never quite clean. Car associated filth is very difficult to clean. Hard enough to get off your hands.. you'll never do it with dish soap or bar soap. Not many understand how clingy break dust and oil and who knows what can be. . Literally need special soap to wash my hands, GO JO. And it's still like a doctor scrubbing for surgery, takes me like 10 mins. To wash they day off. But it is what it is.
@@teetar1751 you definitely need a washer that can clean your clothes. I tell you that GE filter flow would get your clothes clean so with the Maytag both of them. I agree with you 1000% the new machines suck. They use 5 cups of water if you're lucky and they don't rinse the clothes. Well don't like new machines. I've tried them. I don't like them. I have a front I have Miele thats the exception it does really well and uses water because there's a setting that you could raise the water .
I'll take the GE Peter, A lot less rubbing of the clothes for me compared to the beating of regular agitation... My clothes always came out great in my GE with no pill balls on the clothing what so ever even after several washings!!! Thanks for the video and have a wonderful Thanksgiving.... Bob
@@petermaz701I love watching the clothes get pinned up against the tub as the spin cycle starts I used to keep the lid open on my moms machine when I was a kid and hold the safety switch down and watch them spin ❤️😂 Looks like a wash race.
No question - with the filter basket in place, the GE Filter-Flo will do the very best job of removing hair and lint. The orbital Maytag will do a great job on sturdy fabrics. The A610 has very adequate turnover, won't beat the clothes to death and will still be washing without repairs 400 years after the GE Basket rusts out. The Norgetag was not a bad washer. Oh, Pardonnez-moi, the Maytag Atlantis. Can't imagine why I wrote that.....Not comparable to the GE Filter-Flo or even the Orbital Maytag or A610, but, yeah, an example of the end of good top load washer design in North America. We have a few Filter-Flos (and a ton of dogs and cats), both styles of Maytag. All wash well, all have real hot water settings and, except for the exceptional Filter-Flo hair and lint removal, they're all equally good at what they do. Maybe not the orbital for delicate clothes which are really dirty.
@@ethelryan257 while you hit the nail on the head, the orbital could be a bit rough. The GE filter flow the whole house could hear it because it's not the most stable machine whereas the orbital is very stable probably the quietest and smoothest of all my machines. I still love the old gold Pittman Maytag. You can't beat them for longevity and they do an excellent job.
Liked the most: All three Maytags. Their agitations are very unique. Liked the least: GE Filter Flo. Gets very splashy on medium and low water level settings.
I like. I'd like to se the GE at small load on normal fast. I'd like to also hear the GE on small level, normal speed, and regular cycle with the lid shut and filter pan. The GE is my favorite.
@@petermaz701 Is it the ramped or straight vane one? I prefer the ramped one. I also like how it sounds with clothes in it during the wash and rinse cycle at normal speed with the lid shut and the pan in place. It brings back many memories of my mom washing.
The yellow one seem the best roll over, although I always loved to own an Atlantis even though I don't like top loaders. I also see you have two miele A1 new generation, not the miele used to be 10 years ago. After the w5000 series that never made it to the US, miele went down a lot. I have 3 of them a w 1986 from the 90,s a w 1215 from the 2000 I believe and a w,5985 made for Italy, but I have adapted to the us, which has like 28 cycles
Atlantis sounds like a Norge. The best agitation of those era machines was the 210-degree, 60 stroke per minute, pre-1979 solid steel tub Speed Queens.
@@LlyleHunter Bruce, I'm really done with whirlpools. I just find these other machines are better. That's just me. I know everyone has their own opinions.
