Another really good video. It would be really great if you could test the new Brainchilde kites. The Reedin Hypermodel 2025 would be really interesting
I rode this kite with a Cabrinha bar for 2-3 hours as well, but if you watch my Nitro reviews, I do find that bar quite heavy, and with such a lighter kite I prefer the lighter weight bars. Also for consistency, it helps to compare different kites with the same bar
Nice vid. Looking forward to the end of year review! What would be your top kite recommendations for someone progressing loops at 9m size? In another vid i saw you like the North Orbit a lot, is that still the case? Cheers
Two kites with a very similar design is harlem peak and the rebel d-lab and sls. It would be nice to compare their performance. Then we could judge which is better value for money kite. Those shapes provide the most hangtime of any kite in the market! Thank you for your reviews!
Happy Xmass Jason great job as always!! With those all alula kites(i have a code NXT myself) a big question arises. Which kite repair shop in Europe is the best for alula repairs. Unfortunately I need one for my NXT. Your knowledge would be must appreciated. Again happy Xmas and thank you for your videos!
This kite is designed for a low V, so you might want to take off the V Splitter if you are using a click bar... you'll probably also need to swap the pigtails around... good luck
@ yes sir. I did remove the splitter. I am also flying it with a small bar 😭. I was only able to fly it in bad wind conditions so far. Haven’t ridden it yet. Also I do think I will need to adjust pig tails bc I just feel like it will stall out if I hold in a bar for too long, so maybe I need to extend my other lines? Wind conditions were really bad when I was flying it
I have no patience for a kite that backstalls when pulling the bar in. A characteristic of kites 6-10 (give or take) years ago. Happened with some of my higher aspect kites.
Ciao guys , I’m a regular user of this kite , it just the bar not set correctly for the kite , back lines are just a 4-6cm to short , Cabrinha bar come on regular lines , north with sk99 , this has a big impact on the trim , I’m using sk99 on my cabrinha bar and I had to adjust the trim quite a lot to make kite fly correctly, for the motox DW on the cabrinha bar I had to move the back line on the 3* knots on the bar sideline , and I fly the kite on the 1* knots ( the farest from the kite ) just because the lines are so stiff in comparison with standard that with out adjustment the kite was unusable .. the idea that you can pick a different bar and use any kite it need to be explained better , it require some trim work most of the times ! And if the line quality are different my alterate the original feeling of the kite , the sk99 lines makes kite turning way faster to the point that if on regular lines to make a loop you need 70* angle on the bar on sk99 you only need 50* to have the same looping radiant . And if you have a slow kite can be a bonus , but if the kite is already fast can be to much if you are not skilled. I hope I explain the point !!
@@criticalslidekitesurf Thanks for the great feedback. I did ride this kite for 2-3 hours with the Cabrinha bar as well, but only got the drone footage of that session sadly due to technical error with my gopro. @@jasonofmontreal interesting. i was gonna say same thing-just trim the bar a bit and then you won't over sheet on loops but sounds like its a bit more intricate than this. why testing kites can be so difficult. lots of variables with bar length, line length, attachments, wingtip adjustments, line type...... fek. cheers man. great review
Definitely a Brain Child Trio Review: F-One trigger, Harlem peak, and the Reedin
@@erincakture5916 thanks for the suggestions
Hi Jason, nice to see this one. Are you planning on reviewing the new f-one trigger brainchild? Cheers and happy holidays
If I can get a hold of one... hopefully a few more comments for it will help!
here´s another comment to go for the new stuff :)

Yeah please test the trigger and also the new bandit 😊
Trigger please!

I can't help noticing you seems to use the North bar, any reason why?

It's still pretty hard to beat a 9m standard orbit for riders progressing into their first kiteloops

Been trying for that one for a year now... probably not too likely unfortunately... but my old XR review would have a similar effect I'd imagine
Hey Jason, from a fellow big kiter. Thanks for the reviews, most informative.

Just got this kite in a 12m using it with a click bar. Let’s see how it goes. I am basic at kitesurfing.

The new 2025 EVO/DLAB will be made with white alula
Aluula 2 will be an interesting update, I have had the luck of trying some Proto's with it while in Cape Town last year.
@@jasonofmontrealcould you be a bit more specific about why it is better? :)
@@Danieldaniel-gz8fe I cannot until I try a production version…. Way too many variables with prototypes

Out of hundreds of loops, we only had it happen to us a few times, so it's hard to say it was a common issue by any means
