I posted that Target never sold anything tuck friendly in children's sizes, only in adult sizes, and a commenter then immediately wrote to me, "Your misinformation has been reported."

im latina so what i understand abt the "bien proud" shirt is that u are like VERY proud, at least in spanish and in that order, "bien" can be used to emphasize something. like, instead of saying "sos/eres alta" (u are tall), you say "sos bieeen alta" (you are sooo/veeery tall). yet i dont like the tshirt even though its readable in spanish lol

@@beniminxz9725As far as I’m aware, a word that has the same functional meaning as “embrace” in English doesn’t exist in Spanish. The equivalent words have other connotations or are more specific. In this case, the Spanish word used was for the action of an embrace, which doesn’t have the connotation of choosing, pulling in, or accepting something like in English. It’s just quirky foreign language marketing.

(Rumor has it- I haven’t fact checked this) In a lot of places they pulled the pride section because a bunch of rich homophobes threaten and complained to target. And target instead of standing up as a big corporation, pulled their pride section and recalled it! Can’t even buy it in their websites in some places. Employees aren’t even allowed to talk about it.

Personally, I think it’s because we’re all just really tired and scared. Everything is getting worse, and everyone is turning on us. It’s just easier to throw in the towel and feel hopeless than try to do anything and risk angering more people. But that might just be me
I’m stationed in Louisiana, and the Targets in my area have had no Pride merch out at all this month. Dead serious. Last year they had a very small section of just a few shirts and kitchen stuff. It’s kind of jarring to see that erasure.

Honestly, the thing that has been bumming me out the most this month has been the lack of pride everywhere and support as I seen in the past years it’s giving me flashbacks to my middle school use when I was closeted and scared and now that I’m open I’m kind of more scared, and fearful than I was before. I hate being a place where I was more scare than 7 years ago. Ngl it’s taken a toll on my mental health seeing all this hate especially when I’m finally out to everybody important to me and have a partner I don’t have to hide
I remember being 13 and train with my closet, friends and allies about gay marriage being legalize and now we’re fighting for those basic rights again with women, queer and poc rights. Seeing those like bud light and politicians turning their backs now that it seems to be less of a “trend” is heart breaking, anyway sorry for the long rant. I think I needed to get that off my chest. I appreciate your videos. They always brighten up my mood.

I love when you make these videos, because I live in a small town in Canada, and the big stores either never carry pride merch, or they only carry an extremely small amount of that cheap dollar tree, basic rainbow landfill. Even their online store either doesn't carry it, or they don't ship to where I live, it makes me feel very alone and isolated

Exactly, I was just about to comment on this. I interpreted this shirt as a Spanglish phrase because of the exclamation point at the beginning of the phrase. And in the Spanish language, "bien" can be used as "really" as @karinam4767 mentioned (Spanish was my first language btw)
Yes, Frederic! The absolutely ridiculous stance people have thinking gender identity and sexual orientation is "not for children" even though puberty is when most people first experience those aspects of their lives. While simultaneously thinking it is normal and morally correct to tell children they are automatically going to hell unless they believe that exact brand of religion... Absolute bullsh*t!
The thing about the tucking underwear or swimsuits is that they were not even in the kids section. A conservative lady just said they were and everyone believed her and freaked out. Other adults went to those stores and tried the smallest sizes on and deduced it would not fit a child.
…Also, the swim suits/underwear were exactly the same as normal swimsuits/underwear but had more fabric in a certain area so that one could have more comfort tucking. Why conservatives would care about have more conservative undergarments, I don’t know 🤷♀️.

Exactly! I told my mom that people use the word "queer" to refer to people in the community (since she's working hard to be more accepting) but I said that before I learned that it was stigmatized. I really does suck cuz I think it sounds really cute, and it refers to everyone under the LGBT umbrella

My son has been talking about how sometimes he wants to be a girl. I wish we all felt comfortable enough for him to leave the house that way. He wont even go to the backyard when he dress up and I can see how it hurts. Thank you for bringing it up. I hope you reach someone.
