If you were wondering, Deadpool is, in all canons, pansexual. However, his main fanbase is cishet men with power fantasies who see his orientation as just "quirky and chaotic and funny" instead of like.. actual queer representation.
or just ignore it :/
I know right it's so strange
deadpool fans on reddit saying he's just joking around or theyre pandering to SJW's when its been a thing for a long time lmao
@@nicothenecromancer not so strange. What do you expect from cishet men
stuff like this always reminds me of cis het white mens fanatical love of queen and freddy mercury, completely ignoring him being indian and bisexual
For clarification, the lesbian flag in the human merch wasn’t upside down, it was the old lipstick lesbian flag that isn’t used anymore because the creator was found saying racist and transphobic things. Also, deadpool is on some of the merch because he canonically likes all genders!
Edit: the flag is just referred to as the pink flag not necessarily the lipstick lesbian flag! The lipstick lesbian flag is the same colours but has a lipstick mark on it. The point still stands either way, people changed the flag because the beliefs of the original flag does not match the beliefs of most lesbians, the new orange flag is used because it’s more inclusive of masculine presenting lesbians and transgender lesbians!
You mean the merch at 16:56 ?
Cuz if so thats not the lipstick lesbian flag its called the pink flag its just easily confused
That’s not the lipstick lesbian flag…
@@alliexcx5576 exactly I’m tired of people confusing them 😭 like it’s called LIPSTICK for a reason
@@alliexcx5576 Sorry that’s my bad! I usually hear it referred to interchangeably because the pink flag is the same colours, just missing the lipstick, but I do understand that the two flags have had different uses! My bad I’ll edit the comment.

Disney doesn’t deserve pride month after all the shit they’ve pulled and continue to pull, completely agree. At least Deadpool is canonically pansexual but ONLY IN THE COMICS. DISNEY DIDN’T LET HIM BE GAY IN THE MOVIES.
Lol really? As a pansexual, can say he seemed 'gay' enough to me
@@jermainechan8477 yeah no, he definetly wasn’t very straight even in the movies
@@jermainechan8477 he was making passes at multiple male characters lol or just being lewd w/ them
I'm raging at Disney for shortening the owl house
@@melimistaken me too! Although I'm pretty sure the main reason it's shortened is less to do with the queer rep and more to do with the target demographics. Like the owl house is signed to Disney channel, which is really focusing towards like 12 and younger, whereas the owl house has a target demographic of mostly older viewers. Still wish we got a full s3 tho!
If I had to summarize the pride section it’s basically just “god may forgive you for being gay but he won’t forgive you for that outfit”
hollering because of this comment
YASS!
IM IN TEARS WHY IS THIS SO FUNNY
LMAOOOOOO REAL
Fun Fact, Deadpol is pansexual and is very much acting like that in the movies. Plus Ryan Reynolds is turning straight men a little less straight apparently...xD
(And I think he also confirmed Deadpol being pansexual)
He was confirmed pansexual in the comics but not in the movies. Same with Loki; in the comics they confirmed him to be genderfluid
@@owentwo982 they confirmed Loki as genderfluid in his series as well! There’s a document about him in the show and in the gender section it says fluid :D
@@owentwo982 I think in his show they show a file of Loki which shows that he's genderfluid! But I don't remember what it said on the file exactly! :D
He in comics is in a lifepartnership with spiderman,i mean an alternate universe, but still. Also yeah he is pan.
@@marocat4749 Oh yeah...Spideypool is a thing. In one of the never ending universes of Marvel... :D
As an bi Disney fan, I completely agree with the Disney statement in regards to their support and values on LGBTQIA+ matters! For years, they queer-coded vllians and while making a bit more of an effort to showcase more complex characters, they somehow managed to put proper representation for multiple communities (lgbtqia+, POC & WOC, disabilities) on the back burner for literal decades; not to mention the creators who desperately WANT to give proper representation for said communities are given so much crap by Disney that sometimes their passion projects are often heavily revised or just scrapped altogether.
It literally took the next heir of Disney coming out as trans airing out of the companies demons and dedouncing their backstage support for Anti-LGBTQIA+ politicians and bills for Disney to actually start making a change. But only time will tell if Disney is wiling to put in the effort in the long run...
...tho with the release of their PRIDE collection, they're off to a pretty rough start.
I 100% agree as a Disney fan. I'd love to support them but well...they're Disney and I can't really ignore all the shit they've done for that long
I don't think Disney cares about LGBT+ people at all it just seems like the creators care and Disney as the company couldn't care less except for money
I roll my eyes whenever I see those rainbow Mickey keychains or whatever. You think sticking a rainbow on your merchandise is gonna make us forget the decades of discrimination?
I support and love the art and the artist behind the Disney content, but hate the company. It’s really sad to think of how much art we were denied because of higher ups who stopped artists from portraying the stories they wanted to.
@@thedestroyasystem I don't really support disney or care for it much, due to the way it is and how it never really shows much representation or even ALLOW representation or passion projects, other than a few queer-coded characters (Which isn't really representation) and there's Princess and the Frog's Tiana for POC and WOC. It's honestly not enough though and there needs to be more. Tbh, I'm more of a Kingdom Hearts fan than a Disney fan. I liked Disney as a kid and I like some of the villains, but other than that, I just feel that some of it is...samey or they stopped the artists from doing more of what they want with it, because the company is anti-LGBTQ+ and I've heard they're racist too, but I don't know about that one for sure, though I have a feeling they are. Yeah, the rainbow mickey merch doesn't sell it for me, they can't fool me. lol
This video is heavily convincing me to quit at Walmart, I have never seen these designs and I don’t want to see them in person
i truly don’t think they actually put them up in stores… like they have on their website but won’t put it up in stores 🤨 sounds sus (still an ugly collection tho)
Most of these aren’t even created by Walmart or Walmart companies
I wish I wasn't so poor, then I'd quit Walmart 😭
If you have the financial resources (cause I understand some ppl don’t) to never shop at Walmart ever again please do, they are horribly anti-LGBTQ (a million dollars+ of donations to alt-right hateful politicians) and treat their workers terribly as well, they have numerous human rights abuses and also spend tons of money union-bashing (dismantling, disrupting and even firing people involved in unions which fight for proper wages and worker rights) so they are a horrible, horrible company, if you can avoid, avoid, avoid!
as someone who quit walmart years ago and still hasnt found a decent job to replace it. do it! everyone deserves better than walmart, and they dont see their employees as humans with lives. quitting that place is self care. especially if you quit right before the holidays and "murder someone for a blender friday"
I went to my local Barnes and Noble recently and I was kinda disappointed. They but the section with the LGBTQIA+ books all the way in the back where no one could see it. Was kinda surprised since it’s Barnes and Noble but hey that’s what I get for hoping.
With my BnN the section was at the front, I think it could be depending on where you live and such-
At my BNB it was close to the back but very easy to find
at the one near my place there's a pride section in the romance area, also the pride stuff/books are in an open area and very easy to find
lgbtq books are mixed with other novels too, so prob depends on where you live like what Unknown said
for me barnes and nobles always has a lgbtq book section even when its not pride month and for june theres pride themed pencil cases and stationery which is nice
Might be your local store, in ours they were front row, center, literally the first thing I saw
where do they even get all of these designs? they're such a huge corporation but they can't afford a graphic designer?
tbh the best one is the pastel pink crop top with cats, the other good ones arent even related to pride lmao
They can…they don’t care
i mean a lot of stuff on the walmart website itself is sold though third party sellers in the business of hideously designed t-shirts, they’re not exactly the people making them. their actual walmart brand made & designed ones aren’t much better though lmao
pls

As a person who works at Walmart, I know for a fact that 90% of those items are online only. My store has like...3 of those shirts and that's it. It's like caskets. We sell them if you look them up, but you aren't gonna find them in person.
I don’t know wether this makes matters better or worse. Pro is, that we won‘t have to see the bad designs in person, contra is that you could take it as „hiding“ the collection.
N̳i̳c̳e̳ hope people buy from your store ❤️

Cats are great. I don't blame you. lol Plus, their purring gives of frequencies which are therapeutic, and don't forget, TOE BEANS! I'm a lesbian, but would rather just be around a cat or two. Fur babies are the best. Though, I also love rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters and rats too. lol In fact, I prefer animals to human babies or kids and human adults tend to annoy me. Animals are far cuter to me, less judgemental and I'd happily just live with fur babies. I don't care for relationships either, anyway, pets are better company. Animals will always win me over!!!

@@ReptilianTeaDrinker same here, humans can be exhausting for me and theres nothing better than a sleepy cat in your lap. instant happiness :) i love all animals but sadly i have a bad hay allergy so i dont think id ever be able to own a bunny or other pets that require hay, but i can still admire them :D
I have a bone to pick with Walmart. I’m temporarily staying in a blue city in Canada, there was a lesbian, bi, trans, non binary flag, and a progress flag outside the shopping center .Walked in, there was nothing. I asked for heartstopper they said it was “out of stock”.There was no pride display except for pink nail polish. I’m a young queer and I wanna be apart of the rainbow capitalism problem and y’all aren’t even gonna help me. Im taking myself and my queer issues to target.
canada doesn't have target
As a Canadian, I apologize for (1) Wal-Mart's idiocy and (2) that Target gave us up a while ago
Yeah it’s always been a little weird to me that the pride flag is treated as the gay, mlm, and queer flag. It makes it feel like mlm is the default queer identity but also like it doesn’t get it’s own distinct identity. I wish companies would stop using the pride flag in contexts where they’re specifically targeting gay men, and just start using the actual mlm flag.
Like that shirt that had love in the lesbian, pride, bisexual, trans, and pan flag. Why is the pride flag there?
As far as I know some people actually think that pride flag is for everyone OR mlm. I used to think that too, tbh, I only discoverd the existence of gay flag much later
@@olisa_hehe yeah, because the concept of there being separate flags only came about later when the rainbow one is a rainbow because it's got all the colors in it...like, it's LITERALLY made to represent everyone, it's not like when the idea of a modern LGBT+ community was being born it was just gay men. the whole "everyone gets a flag because everyone has to have their own merch for some reason" only caught on and became mainstream in recent years
The rainbow was literally the only gay/queer/not-straight, not-cis flag in existence for long enough that most people associate it with the whole movement, as it was originally intended. If you want a specific one, you can have that. But it's not right to pretend the rainbow flag belongs to any one group, or excludes any group. Pretty much the only people NOT included in the rainbow flag, is/was straight, cis folk. I do agree that if you're going to include all the individual ones, it doesn't seem to make sense to include the rainbow all-inclusive pride flag. IDK, though, there's probably a few people who want it there. After all, you can't include EVERYONE'S individual flag, so it makes sense to use it in a "and the rest" sort of way.
i was gay back when the rainbow one was the only pride flag ANYONE had ever seen, and then the lesbian and bi flags gained some popularity next while the MLM flag was basically unheard of. so i remember when everyone cionsidered the rainbow flag to be the one for MLM, and the lesbian and bi flags to be seperate things. and tbh me and most of the queer people i know still see it that way.

Now Walmart as evolved enough to take your money but not actually care about the community and directly fight against it.
Ahhh yes progress...
Don't give these companies money just so the can fight against you and take your rights away. They don't care about anything unless it affects their bottom line.

My biggest issue when people are like “omg queer rep in Disney” pisses me off because in things like adds when their is a family of two moms or two dads or someone who is not abiding to a gender norm no one understands that it’s there to be easily edited out so that they can still market to places like china who are very homophobic. They dint care about you only money. And when real representation is shown by artists in shows or movies they are put on hiatus and silenced because now those shows can’t be shown in certain places in the world and is risking their money. They don’t even put in the bare minimum. Alex Hersh, creator of gravity falls, was only allowed to give hints that characters where queer so that he wouldn’t get in trouble, (The two officers). Think about it. Disney doesn’t give a shit
dipper was supposed to be trans too I think
@@jayd8139 yes! The creators have all but confirmed it. Just think of all the young trans guys that representation would’ve helped.

As for the lesbian flag in the L in the Love-shirt, it was actually the lipstick lesbian flag without the lipstick print, and you were right: there is a lesbian flag, the sunset one, which has orange/red shades at the top :)
I love how you mentioned Barbie bc in one of the movies she is gay (at least the whole Barbie community agrees she is). Check out Barbie in the Diamond Castle it’s about cottage core lesbians who literally ride a rainbow
as a barbie loving , rainbow riding , cottage core lesbian....I confirm
Plus the dresses at the end have both the bi and lesbian colors barbie canonically wore lesbian colors
Also in one of the newest movies she basically gets a girlfriend.
if anyone is actually saying “we fought for this and you guys are shaming these companies,” no. the queer community didn’t fight for merch, they fought for equal rights. capitalism isn’t equal rights, it’s the exploitation of minorities. you can sell gay however you want to, but that’s not the same as being equal. the queer community still doesn’t enjoy equal status with the rest of society, so they’re fair game to exploit. besides which, these companies clearly don’t care about us, not only because they put their money towards anti-lgbt things, but because these designs are telling of how little they think of us. I mean, ‘lez is more’? from the phrase less is more? that’s like saying there’s too many lesbians here, while hiding behind the veneer of, “we put lez on a shirt, we’re supportive, give us money now!” it’s all fake bullshit.

part of pride is literally about being able to look glamorous and gay outside of the bars/clubs without getting hate crimed, so wearing these types of designs is legit disrespectful to our queer heritage
the "they said yes" shirt just feels dissrespectful to the people who actually fought (and who are still fighting) for marriage equality
I'm pretty sure the 6 coloured rainbow was made to symbolize gays (and maybe lesbians?) as in homosexuals only, but then people started making different flags for each letter and we stopped saying "gay pride" but "lgbt pride" while using it, which changed its meaning to the entire community, so the toothpaste was made for the G specifically
The rainbow flag was designed for the whole community; our language/terminology has expanded a lot since then though
and we didn’t think it would get worse 😭😭
These designs are super cringe, because they feel dated almost.
It's easy to see how tacky they are now, but I swear to gods 2016 Tumblr would have eaten this stuff up.

Also! I'll be in the mall and there'll be "love is love" signs and they'll have the nonbinary flag but not the ace flag. Nonbinary isn't a sexuality! Like, yeah, I want it to be on there because it affects your sexuality, but how do you have that and not asexual?

Amity: Lesbian
Lilith: Aroace

I think they put all of the different design elements into a big lottery machine and picked three per item at random. Many of these could have been improved with a little editing. Like, the rainbow fingerprint without any text on a black t-shirt? That, I'd wear. Not with the basic Pride plastered on top. Also, the distressed Human on the rainbow background, I legit read as Roman, and was already thinking about all those (un)intentionally homoerotic films about the Roman empire. The Target stuff looks down tight classy now.
Oh, and Deadpool is claimed to be pansexual, I guess that qualifies him a queer icon.
Was Walmart trying to settle the argument about bisexuals being transphobic (which is a false assumption) by making their flags share a letter, or is it that bi and trans folks only need half the pride everyone else gets? Somebody made that design. On purpose.
And now I have to admit I wore a horrifyingly cheap, not-quite-the-correct-rainbow "love is love" t-shirt today. It's as bad as they come, but it's hella comfy, I'm poor, and I couldn't find the bi pride coloured earrings I handmade for myself anywhere. Happy Pride, no matter how you celebrate it. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
Ty Frederic-san for giving my silver-allergic ass accessibility to jewelry 😭😭😭

“dare to be different; nope not anymore” IM HOWLINGGG
Deadpool is canonically pansexual. That's why he appears in a lot of pride stuff.
I am not as judgey as Frederic, and have a Doctor Who trench coat that violates his "grey with rainbows" rule and I love it!
It probably works if you take care on it, unlik that abominations.
The only person who uses "fierce" is Katya and even she says it as a joke
I saw Brandon Roger’s video where his character Bryce Tanktrust said “ The choice to be gay is the choice to slay”. I bet if the Walmart design team saw that, they would make that into a shirt.
This shit's fascinating because I don't have any of this at my Walmart. I've seen like, maybe three pride shirts at Walmart in the past two years? And even then it's like "love is love" tier
17:13 from the colours alone I'm pretty sure that's the Lipstick Lesbian flag which is the outdated one because for one it was designed specifically for lesbians who are high femme and also I'm pretty sure the creator got outed as transphobic or something along those lines. Not shocking that Walmart would choose to use the version that is specifically meant for *only* feminine lesbians tbh.
17:23 that is the lipstick lesbian flag. the creator of it excluded trans lesbians and was overall not a good person so people have switched to the sunset lesbian flag (the commonly used orange, white, and magenta one). so that was very bad design choice on walmart
Everything screams: " 🌈Graphic design is my passion 🌈"
The gay marriage one feels weird because there isn’t Marriage Equality for disabled people in the USA yet.
It’s like yeah, it’s a victory, but we’re not “there” yet
There’s not? How so? (I’m genuinely curious about how there’s not marriage equality for disabled people in the US)
@@peacefulleopard8016 disabled people lose their benefits when they get married. Meaning that they’re made to be financially dependent on their spouse, as benefits are often disabled people’s main income when they can’t work due to their disability.
@@peacefulleopard8016 we lose our health insurance / social security disability income (it’s already under minimum wage) and become “dependents” of our spouses. In some cases even if you are known to be living with your romantic partner- those things can be taken away.
I have to be careful to only refer to my partner as my “friend” in medical and disability related files
Check out the Supplemental Security Income Restoration Act of 2021 if you want a good compiled list of some things disabled people have been fighting for
That’s awful! Thank you for explaining. Is this just in the US, or do I now need to check the laws in my country, as I would probably be considered disabled legally?
I love that you’re being aware of people still possibly being in the closet and having discreet packaging and wording for your pride item. You get more and more amazing with every video I watch from you. Love me from Fredric Chen! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
“They disbanded it” I DIED
When you're finally, once represented at least on one letter.. and they don't even include the BLACK stripe, which represents asexuality itself. I'm out, bye. 😮💨
I know, right?! Seriously, a basic Google search for "pride flags" would show the accurate stripes, even if they didn't bother looking up the meanings.
(p.s., I love your username and pfp)
@@Alexrandia I'm sure they Google something, I'm 100% positive they wouldn't have a clue about a sexuality otherwise.. Which makes it even worse that I think it was a deliberate choice. 😅
(P. S. A fellow Stay maybe? 👀 Haha. Anyways thank you. 💕)
@@galaktikuspanda I am indeed Stay! Since you like Stray Kids, I recommend checking out A.C.E, who openly support LGBT+! I especially recommend _Goblin (Favorite Boys)_ and _Under Cover._
Complete coincidence on the name; they were my ult group before I came out to myself. 😂

Me who is a bisexual transman and has a last name that starts with V
I am the V. Thats literally me
Tho it's literally true, how often do people use the phrase "women's rights are human rights" versus how often do people use the phrase "trans' rights are human rights"? Like, Walmart, are you out of touch or...
19:16 bruh fingerprints patterns arent even made from dna??? Its made when someone is in the womb, but I forgot exactly how it works, making the slogan not work :/
The like button now shines rainbow too i cant
It took me a HOT MINUTE to process the “they said yes” shirt but once I got it I had THE WORST ASTHMA FLARE FROM LAUGHING MY ARSE OFF THAT WAS HILARIOUS!😂😂😂😂
Off topic but oh my gosh your eyeshadow is so good!! I absolutely adore it!!!
I died when the Lady Gaga reference came up. 😂😂😂
Also, I’m deaf and I’m so thankful that you took the time to caption the video too!!! ❤️🤟🏻
21:50 Trexes are actually specifically a transmasc thing because after top surgery our upper body mobility is very reduced for a while and we can’t reach anything. A reacher is a post op must 😛
Your aesthetic, your look its everything
today marks one year since i've started to watch frederic, and i just want to say, ever since i saw that post on youtube's Instagram about your videos, i haven't missed one since!! i love your videos so much, and i can't believe it's been a whole year! thanks for being such a great content creator.
walmart pride collection: "y'all means all"
fredreic: cut the cameras, deadass
the L on the LOVE that had the lesbian flag, it wasnt inverted or flipped they literally used the wrong one LMFAO its like the lipstick but without the actual kiss sign thing
A friend sent me an image of a mug that says "I’m so gay I can’t even drink straight" and the mug is bent...I kinda love ngl
Netflix has an animation where the main character is a trans boy that’s called ‘dead end: paranormal park’ but the fact that he’s trans is only a small part of the story and isn’t brought up constantly. It’s really cool go watch it!!
Frederic, this is your Best Pride Clothing Roasting video yet! I can't stop laughing, thanks for making my day!
Hope you're having a great day too!
i love these so much! i live in france and we don't get any big companies that try to scam us out of our money here. So sad. Capitalism is truly dead /j
that come out come out wherever you are t-shirt will exist in my nightmares forever. I’m like, 98% sure coming out is my worst fear. you wear that shirt in public, I will run as fast as fkn possible T T
I was wondering what shirt you were wearing and I'm so happy you put in the description. Thank you
Okay off topic but your shirt is to die for!! It’s so good! ✨
I knowww I cant find it anywhere :,(
Just so you know, there is Deadpool stuff cause he is pan and probably the most popular queer superhero
i absolutely agree with your point about newly out queer people, when I was 13 and had just came out I made the stupidest jokes about it because I was too insecure in my identity to take it seriously. Its honestly like the opposite of being proud of your identity.
Your outfits r so amazinggg
and to speak more about disney, raven symone and the the cast of raven’s home did a walk out on set in opposition of the “don’t say gay” law on tv
