I'm sure this morning there was a word of warning here from a gentleman who purchased a Veiko hinge jig which turned out defective. It reminded me of a Veiko pocket hole jig I purchased about a year ago that was defective. I had bought a couple of other Veiko products and I was quite pleased with them. That faulty jig, however, has tarnished my good opinion of Veiko.
I have some really nice Jarrah Glulam panels to make into cabinet doors and I have never installed cabinet hinges before so the Vieko jig looks more like an insurance policy than a luxury to me! Thank, you review was extremely helpful.
Okay... after watching a bunch of videos in this series, Im gonna take the leap of faith and order from this site. Im confident the tools you reco'd that I order will be high quality. What I dont have faith in is their service delivery, shipping and returns (if necessary). Im in Canada, so for fellow residents I'll report back....

Hi Dennis, I was sitting in our caravan whilst on holiday in Scotland and thought to myself "I haven't seen a video from Dennis for a while". I checked on RUclips and if by magic there it was waiting for me 😁. I've bought a lot of tools from Banggood since I started watching your recommendations, from Squares to clamps to rulers to cabinet drill guides to digital inclinometers etc. etc. The best items which I use all the time are the two squares you reviewed in episode 7 and I wouldn't be without them. Great new video, and if I was fitting lots of cabinet hinges I would definitely buy one of the hinge jigs 😁. The kitchen you have been making looks amazing from what we have seen, is it for yourself and family or a commission for a customer ? Look forward to your next workshop video 😁. I'm really enjoying our Holiday but look forward to getting back in the workshop at the end of next week. Take care and have fun, but don't get too excited again, none of us are getting any younger 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Make video about some tools you use like pencils, which kind, which diameter, etc. By the way sir, to me as a amateur home work this channel is great and I love how tidy your tools are!
I just received my jig and there are a few differences from what was reviewed. The Banggood website product listing looks just like what we saw here. Mine was shipped within the USA. Differences: 1. Product model number is still JL35-A2 but it's labelled "ENJOYWOOD" with "VEIKO SERIES" just below it. 2. The mounting holes now include a set for 32MM. 3. The bracket that holds the Forstner bit is now allowed to rotate slightly (maybe 15 degrees or so) in both directions. Don't know why that is. Quality is excellent and the best part is that the price is now $50.
Hey Dennis! Thanks for the new episode. I thought I would be the only one to loose control like this when everything runs smooth 🤣😂🤣😂. Although my workshop does not come close to your beauty. Keep going and greetings from Germany! Andreas

The hinge jig tool looks very good to me as your testing has shown. I purchased that miter square you showed in Episode 7. The forstnerbit I got with the hingejig is terrible, hopefully it's just bad luck. Also the screws come loose non stop. It's still a very Chinese tool.
You sold me on the Veiko hinge jig. I was impressed at the quality. It looked like a good one. But let me tell you about the experience. When it arrived it bore German writing and was missing the instructions and one essential bolt. I suspect it was sold elsewhere, returned, then sent to me. Ik ben die smaak niet tregengekomen,
My experience with squares from China have been way more miss than hit. The carpenter square from Veiko is not actually square and the adjustment screws are just fake and don't actually allow to adjust the squareness 👎. Maybe they've adjusted the product meanwhile to be of better quality but I remain sceptical especially since it's close to impossible to get bad China products replaced, best case you get a (partial) refund but what good is that for a square which is not square? Also I disagree about the value of the Aluminum "machinist" squares, a good DIN 875/0 lapped steel square with guaranteed accuracy and long time stability delivered from Europe costs around the same as the who-knows-what-to-expect aluminium ones from Veiko, so why even bother?
Dennis, i have bought the hinge jig after i saw your video, but i must say it is not good. It looks very nice, it is good idea but it ends there. The thread in stop collar is joke, was gone after first tightening and the thread is so shallow i could not believe it. Everiting is loose all the time and the bit is terrible. I like your videos, but this was total waste of money.
I agree that I am not fully use to the fact that they start to sell more expansive products. But if I look at the big Square, I find it pretty expansive, the sales price is OK. At the other side, if it is a good quality, and still a lot cheaper than competition, I can not say it is too expansive. But on both the Square and Hinge Jig, It took some time to put it in perspective.
It is no longer worth ordering tools in China. We are forced to pay the completely overpriced moon prices in the usual DIY stores. Mostly even cheapest sheet metal constructions from the back of Asia production cities, which are then sold there at forty times the purchase price. Thus one comes also to the small man purse, which must pay now again instead of 15,33 euro for a small construction unit whole 35,70 with fees and haste not seen. Because the 22 euro exemption limit has just fallen.

I have the 100mm square with the marking holes, it is a very nice and accurate little square.
I like the VEIKO stuff but some of it is overpriced.
You always cost me money, Dennis.
Sorry Magius 😉
@@HookedonWood I don't believe you. LOL.
Seriously, Veiko and Hongdui make some very beautiful yet functional tools at a great price.
THESE KIND OF VIDEOS OF NO USE , AS THE ABOVE CHINA TOOLS ARE NOT SHIPPED TO INDIA ? ONLY SELECTED (COMMON TOOLS) ARE SENT TO INIDA NOT ALL THE CHINA TOOLS
