Sorry I'm late to the show. I'm fascinated with both of your channels, the number one reason that I am a subscriber and follow all your videos is that you give such detail in your evaluation of China tools, jigs, and display exceptional craftsmanship in your projects. I'm new to woodworking so I rely heavily on the advice of seasoned and intellectual influencers. Thank you.
Only found this channel yesterday but I already love it. ❤️
Thanks for a great video Dennis. You are my biggest inspiration to build my first workshop and starting my own RUclips Channel.
And I have bought a lot of the tools you recomend in your China Tools series.
Hi Dennis, thank you for your quick response. Love your channel. Love the way you teach us beginners.
I forgot to say I got those Hold down clamps and I also got the pocket hole jig after watching ur review on the Banggood.. I'm still waiting for them to arrive as yet but I was so very impressed with the hold downs and that really nice pocket hole jig u showed.. The black and red 1 with the dust port on the back of it in red too. The surround u build to hold it inside was stunning too pal. Salute to u Sir for brilliant content as always. I watch ur videos on China tools bcos u understand the best tools and I need that as a newbie to Woodworking.. So I want to thank u sir for so many brilliant reviews..
As always, Dennis, thank you for your hard work in brining us this information - it makes buying products a much easier exercise, and helps us zero in on the good products, and avoid the not-so-good ones :)
What a stunning shop - I most definitely have shop envy!! And I need most of those tools.
Always love to watch your videos. Temptations are piling up in this time of the year. And you are adding greatly to this 😁👍.
I always look forward to your videos. You always seem to have very informative and innovative content.
Thanks for your videos! I finally got around to ordering the veiko rail guide clamps and I’ve just ordered the DRO you used for your mitre saw with 2 meter magnetic strip! Very happy I waited till 11.11 to make these purchases!
Hi Dennis, I’ve been very curious about the Chinese drill guide that you show in the poster key frame for this video (similar to Woodpecker’s), but can’t find any review you’ve done on it! Since you picture it here, I’m hoping you have a review coming. Cheers!
I will think about it. But I did not do a review yet.
Hi Dennis, I thoroughly enjoy your channel and have bought many products on the strength of your critique. However there is one thing you have in your new shop which I would like to know a little more about and that is your "scissor lift bench" which is in background of many of your clips.
Keep up the good work.
That was very interesting Dennis, thank you for sharing this with us! 😀👍👏
Dennis, just checking you got the email I sent to you via your web site regarding ventilation for the AU UK router. Happy to share details what I did to protect the motor!
Yep, I will reply to you!
Thanks a bunch for the list and links, Dennis! 😃
The aluminum set up blocks are really interesting for me! Because here things rusty too fast. 😬
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Bought some tools from Banggood based on your videos. Was sent a defective fonson track square and they wouldn’t take a return. They kept complaining that return shipping would be expensive and offered $8 back, $15, $20 etc despite me repeatedly saying no I would like to return for a full refund per their policy. Could not get that from them so had to do a charge back. Buyer beware if you have any issues you will be stuck with absolutely horrible customer service
I bought the same square and was missing a part. They gave me 4$. I would not take the chance on ordering something expensive
You should try to ring gauge blocks together.
Hi Dennis, Thank you for your help providing an honest review of these China tools. I'm a new subscriber. If I intend to build my own kitchen cabinets (one time major use for the tools, and hardly much use after that), would you honestly recommend these China tools?
It would be great if you can do a price and quality comparison of all the China tools vs. more expensive Western alternatives needed to build kitchen cabinets. I think such a video would help DIY builders like me. Thanks for considering my suggestion.
Dennis, where did you buy the Digital Miter Stop M503, Thanks Richard
11:52 God Bless You. You live somewhere safe and beautiful.
you can find larger gauge block under metal working :) also you will find a variety of 1.2.3 blocks as well. Really cool products. thanks for the info.
Thanks, going to look for it
@@HookedonWood Not sure how useful they will be for woodworkers, but there are also 2-4-6 blocks as well.
So i just checked the price 10 months later and it's exactly the same as the 11.11 pricing mentioned in the video. Seems to be some sort of "flash sale". I'm not very familiar with Banggood but it seems like they have deals pretty often. Maybe it's common that the flash deals later on the next year are matching the 11.11 pricing?
My wallet thanks you Dennis ,looking forward too seeing that ultimate bench build .
I need to tell you that unfortunately the discount for the Dowling jig is only for the basic version and not for the jig that you showed in your video
It is indeed without clamp! The clamp I use is not from the set. But, yes, you need a clamp.
I mean, it's not even the real jig for 55,but only like a metal bar with holes in it :D.. I just checked and wanted to buy it for that price..
Ok, sorry. But in the video I tell it is now 85 dollars. But I agree it is a lot of money. Although worth it in any way. It is not a cheap set and every accessory included is from high quality.
Oh, sorry, my bad, I think I was too excited that I heard what I wanted :)
it's impossible to overstate the value and quality of your videos, Denis,. Thank you! 👏
Hey Dennis can you also make a review of the Hongdui Table Saw Guide. It looks decent but not really cheaper than the original Jessem. I’d like to know your opinion about them. Thanks.
En daar gaat het gespaarde geld weer 😂 again a fantastic video Dennis. Can’t believe 11/11 is again a year ago… groetjes uit Limburg.
Times fly when you are having fun!
Hi. I really get a lot of value from these reviews on china tools. Thank you very much. I am wondering if you have plans to review some cabinet hardware tools? Finding some cost effective alternates to accurately and consistently install cabinet door and drawer hardware would be very appealing to me and I'm guessing others as well. Thanks for all you do!
Hi Dennis
Looking for some good quality flip stops for my Jessem router fence ? Any recomendations ? Do not seem available here in the UK
Thanks
Looks like Banggood do not deliver to Canada anymore :(
love your videos Dennis! Can't believe I missed 11/11, I've put a reminder in my calendar for next year lol. I've previously bought a few items from Banggood that you recommended and they've all been terrific!
I try to by thé N1 doweling but i would liké to by thé complet set and i can't find thé second part !
Can you help me ?
Sorry i don't speak so good english
Thanks
If you click on the different pictures under the price, it changes the products.
Option 1 is the multi-row puncher, option 2 is the doweling jig, and option 3 is the doweling jig with a clamp. In the description, you can read what is includedin those different options.
Hello Dennis, Do you know if China Tools has a jig comparable to Woodpeckers Variable Router Jig? I really like Woodpeckers quality but cannot always justify their pricing for my budget.
Hi, No, I am not aware of that. Maybe in the future. I agree this is a nice accessory
I am looking at buying the Incra style t rule. What is the difference between the "A" and "B" products? Is B, B stock, with known defects at a lower price? Or something else?
The one that is more expensive comes with a pencil. The other only the t ruler
@@HookedonWood thank you!
Hello, i don't know if someone asked this before, but do you have tested spiral/helical cutterhead for planer from china?
Hi, No, I am sorry. I know they are butterhead available, but I do not know how they perform. I also do not have the possibility to test them because I believe they only have them for DeWalt planers at this moment.
hi dennis, im must say i was dissapointed with the veiko t ruler, i got the 400mm version but it isnt square, the t section is too short in my opinion. not up to the ususal standard im afraid. cheers
Sorry to read that. I think the T piece is big enough for good alignment, but of course, it should be square otherwise, nothing will help. All my pieces are good. Of course, I check them for accuracy.
Hello From Dublin, Ireland Dennis. Really enjoy ur content and the channel and ur website in general. Ur new shop is awesome. The dance moves in one of the videos weren't too bad either mate. LOL.
I have used a couple 9f ur affiliate links as well to buy some of these tools. The last one was the mini square with the Din-175/0 on it. It's a piece I'm still waiting for. I also got the minsure i 90 degree corner square and I'm sure U also did that on ur channel. I am thinking of going all out for a CNC ROUTER w the ability to place a laser in the Axis also.
I'm hoping u try Banggood for a decent CNC ROUTER machine someday soon and that u can do another brilliant video on this if u can wrangle one from them.
Again ur channel and workshop are too notch Dennis and as I'm trying to build out my workshop atm but I'm way behind. ;4p(}
Thanks, Man!, I appreciate your comment
Great reviews: there is a lot that I do want include in my workshop early next year. Health reason have reduced my wood working in the last 6 months, but going forward,I’m keen on some updates. And these are on the list
A real shame the edge tool wasn’t made larger into a full No4 Plane. I would pay for a new, modern design that had 4 blades I could sharpen and could take shavings micros thick? Wouldn’t it be brilliant. It’s way, way time the tools industry has the disruption that Tesla is generating around the world. Maybe his idea could start the revolution? We have been held in the 1950’s for far too long? I think you need to speak to then and start the ball rolling👍 I’ll be waiting. . . .
I’m sure China could turn a design around in a month and they are not that tied to Christmas.
Final point. I’m in the UK. Contacting. No problem. Although I have sent something to Matthias about the idea as well. I’m only interested in it if going forward. Everything thing else is between the two of you.
Very NICE.
Had to put it on mute though.😊 JimE
BangGood prices are high right now. In Dennis' Aug 2021 review of the multi-row puncher, he shows a screenshot priced $46.99. A year later and the LOWEST price it will supposedly be offered is $53.99. To be honest, not sure I believe BangGood's marketing this time about prices.
Prices change constantly, and meanwhile, they also include taxes. So, you are right that sometimes prices are more expensive than last year. But, in 90% of the cases, the best price is at double 11.
Hi. What song is it your using that starts at 11:40 min
Awesome!!!
Do you have to pay import taxes for Belgium?
No, But to be sure, do not spend over 150 dollars at once. If so, make two orders.
Please avoid Veiko T rulers! I bought 2 of them at different times (16" & 24"). I just received the 16" and after assembling I checked for square. To my surprise it was off. I then checked the first square (24") I bought previously and it was also out of square. Unfortunately the way they are made there is no adjustment (great if it was square). They were both about 1/16" off over 16". I tried drawing a line on the edge of a board using both sides of the square (making a 1/16" v) and also verified with 2 different machinest squares. Very disappointing, considering it would cost more to ship back then what they are worth. Stay away!
Banggood was good 10 years ago. Now its the same prices as "made in Europe" stuff. Just ad 6 weeks shipping and shit like that.
I get it’s cheaper but what’s going to happen if these rip off tools take out companies that do actual r&d to come up with these products
Heftige muziek eronder Dennis haha
Blijf je een beetje jong bij.
@@HookedonWood precies haha 👍
I love your channel, Dennis..but…Banggood prices is very manipulative. They show you an item for the price..say 53.99 but when you actually select the item it is more like double that price. The price of the item you’re demonstrating is actually $83.99 and not the 53.99 your video says. Please be careful to check the prices as Banggood has deceptive pricing.
I thought he said right now it is 83.99, but on Nov 11, (11.11) it would be 53.99?
I just checked, price comes up at $53.99. I have purchased several tools from Banggood with no issues. If you are referring to price increases after selecting an item, many sellers have that practice. The price shown is for the smallest version but when you select the item it pulls up a default size setting. You then have the option to choose which one you want.
Stated now through 11.11 so pricing is as shown…for the multi row puncher, not the pictured doweling jig. Just be careful with Banggood’s deceptive pricing practices.
Not to mention that items often fail to even get delivered, once you’ve navigated the misleading pricing.
Hi Jeff,
In my video, I tell that the doweling jig is 84 and the multi-row puncher 54. I do not tell the doweling jig is 53. I agree that on the site of Banggood, it could be more clear, but you can select the small pictures that change the price setting. In the text, it is written what you get for the different options.
Three words that make this woodworker pause; Made in China. The most notable issue that I have repetitively observed is the lack of quality control . In the end, you get what you pay for.
Do love your channel Dennis but not sure who you're appealing to with the music choice?
That caliber probably has way worse tolerances than what you are measuring. Need a micrometer.
I bought one product from banggood and it arrived with a crucial part missing. Never got the part or my money back! Scammers!
You are checking gauge blocks with a caliper? Really? What you are really checking is your caliper accuracy...
That is what I said in the video. But it is the best I can do. At least my caliper is accurate according to the gauge blocks. And I measured differences in the first setup block set. So, I am
Pretty convinces there is a small deviation here, which is also within tolerances
@@HookedonWood OK, but what about a micrometer?
That is a better tool to control.
@@HookedonWood I take it those red blocks are aluminium- which has a much higher thermal coefficient of expansion than steel (your calipers). Have you allowed for that?
What is your point? I spend more than average time to review these products. Again, you are right, but I am no TNO institute who certified products. I do reviews as good as I can and with the equipment I have. What is most important that the conclusion I make, or my viewers can make based on what I show does not differ significantly bases on my measurement methods. I do not think they do, because the amount of difference your suggestions will make are not significantly for woodworking.
Alaaaf
Deviation annoys me as well, but I don’t know why when we are talking of amounts this small. Maybe I’m just expecting too much. After all, if it’s off by a few hundredths of a millimetre… that is less than the thickness of a human hair lol.
If we were making fine watches then yes, that would be a big deal. But with woodworking it’s irrelevant honestly.
Hi Dennis, I love your tool reviews and have been watching you for years. I have bought from Banggood on your recommendation but have now found out why Banggood has such an appalling reputation! I bought a dowelling jig that arrived with one part missing. A very simple thing to put right but they have given me the run-around for months and clearly have no intention of sorting out such a simple matter. I know you benefit personally from a mountain of free tools but if your channel is to survive you need to stop promoting such a dreadful company. Will
Sorry to hear that Will, can you please try one more time but using that you bought on my recommendation. Use my name Dennis, from hooked on wood. I had contact with them recently because of how they responded when something is broken or missing. They promised to do better.
@@HookedonWood Hi Dennis, thanks for the prompt reply. I did just that last time I wrote to them but they still didn't sort it out. I have lost count of the emails to them and have now told them that I intend to spread the word as far and as thoroughly as I can to hopefully stop people buying from them. Their rating of Trustpilot is one of the worst I have ever seen! This is such a shame because the tools you review are often very good quality (when shipped complete!) and your assessments of functionality are accurate and fair. Thank you. Will
Can you please do one last thing and mail me at hookedonwood@hotmail.com with the order number. I do need some real examples. I do not know how long it is ago. But maybe I can make a difference although it should not be that way🤨
Just seems to be a little paradox that we are seeing the benefits and beauty og China Tools (Some really nice ones at that) while you keep showing us your overpriced Festool toys
Bangood will not take my card...
people who think that everything from china is trash dont know much...open up ANY electric tool or machine, and you will find parts in it from china- allmost all brands and manufacturers have their own factories,or buy from factories in china - dosnt matter if it says millwaukee, makita, dewalt or whatever on the brand, most parts are made in china or india
Yeah ain't it funny a lot of Milwaukee tools are made in China.
@@DK-bm5rg and it's nothing wrong whit that - china makes unbranded tools that are completely crap-but also makes very good ones..if you go to aliexpress and search for a 15 mm wrench...the cheapest one for 1$ is something you most likely would stay away from - but the "expensive one" for 10$ will most likely work excellent for a very long time
1 inch thick Baltic birch plywood? That’s how I know you have made it. 💰 😝 Congrats Dennis on another great informative video - 5 star
I actually got it from a friend of mine. Friends with benefits😝😝
Dennis you have the best looking shop I think i've ever seen! You are a super talented woodworker, and RUclipsr too! Thanks for all your hard work that goes into every video and project you show us. Keep up the GREAT work man!!!
Thanks Jerry, appreciate your commend
Great as always. Yes the dwelling jig I'd fantastic! I used mine to be able to drill some allaminium to make a new work bench. As it was able to take 8mm guides. I have purchased all those items in this review and looking for the router with speed control. Hope for St Pete to look kindly on me. Enjoy the season ahead.
Amazing content - thank you so much! Can you share the black material you are using for the tops of your counters, worktable, etc. I have never seen anything like this!
How do you know your calipers are not the problem? Is it warm in your shop? Cold? Are you sure the jaws of you calipers are flush to the face or the setup bloc? Give me a break.
Just bought the Veiko T marking ruler 600 for £23, great deal. 😄
Hello can I have more info about your digital stop block? Do you have a video or a link? Thanks
would have been hilarious if this video was just a black screen that said "NONE"
I was interested in those set up blocks for a friend but can’t seem to find them in your description.
hi is that MDF the black material youre using as template?
This is awesome and so timely, Dennis! I am going to shop on behalf of my wife & sons for some of my Christmas presents this year off this list.😀
Placed an order a month ago, paid for it, not received as yet.
unfortunately in australia when you order from bangood they employ dodgy courier companies who dont have very accurate tracking and just leave packages outside of your address for anybody walking by to steal.. theres so many products on your channel id love to buy but after a few bad experiences i can only watch and wish some of these companies would start ebay channels which i would feel more comfortable buying from
that is indeed a shame!
Thank you for sharing the best of the best, love the new shop and how you are going about setting it up. Stay safe happy and healthy, from Henrico County Virginia
Is there an alternative to the festool domino video ?
shame that most of these products are invented and designed by european companys and china copies them and you dont even know that they are invented by someone else. advertiseing this as chinese quality tools is crazy. i like your vidoes but this one is poo
I do not know everything, of course. If one of these tools already exists, I am unfamiliar with that. And I even tried to search a bit for that. Of course, woodpeckers do also have an edge trimmer, as you mean that they probably invented it, but that does not mean that this one is much more advanced and designed from a completely different angle. There is nothing wrong with that. The doweling jig I have never seen before.
Great video, I really like the attention to detail in your videos and designs. Your China Tools recommendations have been spot on and have enjoyed every purchase I made, thank you Dennis.
Again a really nice review. Thanks. Love your videos👍
Another great video Dennis, I have been reluctant to purchase tools from China but a quick check of your back catalogue tells me all I need to know before a purchase, just recieved the dowel jig that you recommended for cabinet making and it’s a thing of beauty..😁💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Hi Dennis
It is really interesting how some of the tools from China are better made and mre pleasurable to use that some of the big brand names like Kreg
Here is one such product from " Ruby Store" W-new 2x1.4m Circular Saw Guide Rails Tracks + Universal Base for Circular Saw, Track Saw, Plunge Saw, Woodworking
I am sure a review from you would benefit your subscribers
I bought a set of the Fonson setup bars and a 0.5mm slip. It gives me all the 0.5mm dims I could want. They are accurate and easy to use, so I would personally disagree with your rating of them.
Stumbled across your channel..... Outstanding content.
New sub earned
Hello Dennis.
In this video thumbnail I can see the Chinese replica for Woodpecker Auto Line Drill Guide (which I am interested in buying). However can't find anything about it in this video nor your other videos or even in the website.
Would you recommend it for precision plumb holes?
Thanks for all your time and effort.
I thought about to buy the original version to compare. I think it helps to make more accurate cuts, but if you look at the construction, which looks similar to Woodpeckers, you can not expect it to bee very stable. There is some flex. But for light drill work and especially for repeatable drills, or placing it exactly on a certain spot. This product is useful. But do not expect it to be a drill stand like a pillar drill, it is just not stable enough for that. I see they have a new, what they call an upgraded version. I do not know on which fronts it is better. Maybe that is a good alternative. But again, it is more a piece to accurate make a series of drill holes rather than an drill pillar alternative, but I am afraid, this same counts for the woodpeckers version.
@@HookedonWood
Thanks Dennis for the feedback. I'm planning to use it for some plumb holes on large surfaces or big pieces that's hard to take to the drill press. A good examples of that are bench dog holes or holes for locks in an entry door.
Looking forward for more reviews of these gems you find in Banggood and other hidden places. Thanks.
Great video, In regard to dog hole clamps, my bench to is only 18mm thick ply with supports for rigidity, so generaly very happy with it, but the dog hole clamps need a thicker bench top to work well. It is to easy stretch dog holes with these clamps with just 18mm thickness, and in my case they do not hold well. I am sure if i used another layer of wood on top or under it that would be better for these clamps. Its My fault, not clamps Fault, just I thought people should be aware!
Dennis, I have the same AUKTools motor and Incra Mast-R-Lift II in my router table. I added connectors in two places on the power/control cable. Once is just inside the router enclosure and the other is just inside the CleanSweep box under the table top. This allows me to remove the router lift and motor or the router table top without having to remove the remote control box.
@Hooked on Wood - finally got my dowel jig as per your recommendation. VERY impressed with the quality of results. Thanks so much for your review / time. 10x better than my previous jig.
G’day Denis, i would be interested in your opinion of the Hongdui half gauge. Perhaps you could compare it to the micro jig version. Looks like a very useful tool
Dennis, FYI the Doweling Jig is $83.99 NOT $53.99 The extension rail is $53.99
Thanks for the heads up. I bought some of the specials I had my eye on. Love your videos, you channel is a gem is an otherwise slurry of mediocracy.
Great video. Very informative. One question. Where did you buy that Veiko T-ruler holder?
I made that one myself😀
Wow. Great job. I thought you purchased it because it had the name engraved in the holder. Do you have a video of that when you made it?
Dank je wel dennis!! Mooi moment om wat goede spullen te kopen en wat geld te besparen. Nu nog even wachten wat je met je werkbank gedaan hebt... kijken of ik voor mijn nieuwe nog wat goede ideeën kan opdoen.
Thanks Dennis, great stuff and I look forward to your vids. Keep it up great work.
How does the dowel jig compare to dowel max?
Are there limitations?
running out of content eh? lol just kidding Thanks for the reviews
Do you have the link to the digital measure you have on your miter saw station please?
I am always excited to watch your new videos! Thanks!
Have you done wheel marking gauges?
Thanks Dennis! Workshop looks amazing 👍
the veiko t-rulers are really good and sturdy.
always love to see a video from you pop up in my feed
when you follow the channel for so long that most of the items shown in this video you already bought !😂
It was indeed a recap, although the fonson bars were new. It is more that I think the products I showed are all a good deal at double 11
Thanks Dennis. Your new workshop is looking fabulous! 👍
