Dielectric break down for air is roughly 3kv a millimeter. Even if a device can put out up to 20kv, If a gap is 1mm, as the voltage rises, discharging through the gap will discharge the energy through the gap before it can climb any higher than the break down voltage for that gap.
hmm. i have an original redhead from the 50s and it still has the original reed valve ass. it runs excellent. i have run it for as long as 3min straight. guess they deff dont make them like they used to. as a side note the ignition is an original 20s model t ign coil box!
6:55 it takes 30KV to arc across one inch of 'dry' air at sea level air pressure. In humid air at sea level it can be 20KV or less. How well would this engine function at high altitude and high velocity? I think it would quickly overheat..
Wow, picky picky. A few weld bumps won't affect the performance, because that tube portion doesn't have to be perfectly round/smooth etc. *Nothing a GRINDER can't fix!* The anodized aluminum tip (which is flawless) was PERFECT, *and that's the only part that has to be very precise*.
Should've got two for inwings on a massive delta airframe (you'd have to build it yourself though... At least it would be stable with weight so spread out!
Hard rolled, Spring quality stainless would be better that what looks like a carbon Spring steel reed valve, it operates at a higher temperature before beginning to loose modulus.
Is there any current source for these or parts? Hobbyking only supplies the reeds and the ignitor now. I contacted them for sources for parts or manufacturer for delivery in USA, Canada, England The Netherlands or France. This was the reply" I have checked for you and unfortunately, the manufacturer nor the suppliers that we deal with have officially discontinued that item that you are requesting. Please understand that it will no longer be available And we are not a liberty to share the manufacturer nor the suppliers info with customer" January 4 2021
Sweet :) Could you PM me your TBS Discovery gains please? I just did a build, and with the new google plus thing I can't even see if you reply to my comment *Dammit google..* Thanks so much
"Please read instcuctions before use" why did you not you do that in the first place, you seem to not know what anything is and keep refering to reading the manual to find out what it is... just makes sense that you read it along with us... it would make the video less uneducated. I hope you can take productive criticism, as im not trying to be rude. all the best :)
My advice is don't purchase this pulsejet. They have a very limited lifespan and often open up along the welded seam along the side. Basically that's a design flaw. There are far better pulsejets in the marketplace, this is a TOY
Pulsejets are very sensitive to shapes and dimensions, and considering that making your own pulse jet is WAY cheaper than 100 bucks, i would expect more quality!!
It's ridiculous, the life of the reed sheets are just too short, it's a big con in my opinion. And it would be more effective to make a pulse jet like the famous one with 2 tubes...
Do you mean the 'Valveless' Pulsejet Engine? That engine seems to me would never function at high altitude nor high velocity. The atmospheric cavitation behind its air intake/exhaust would cause a flame out at high speed. Don't you agree?
Lol, it can be true , it seems these valved jets are 2x more powerful than the valveless, still, would be nice to see any kind of test with a valveless in a rc airplane.
Looking forward to seeing more video of this!
hey man I can't wait, I just need to find the right RC for it
ThatHPI GUY I will just hook it up to a base plate and use it as a static engine
Nice one mate!

Hello, I am trying to build one myself. Just asking if I could get more detailed pictures and dimensions of the carb
Does this fit on the Phantom?
Will be interesting to see fired up and powering the 4x4 RC Car
yeah I hope it has enough power
well it wont be 4x4 you git fuck!
Why don't you read the instructions BEFORE screwing around with metal rings ad wondering what's what ?
At 3:35, a spare reed valve is inside that small brown envelope. Not mentioned in the instructions.
Nice for the price I guess since at my tig rates that would cost about 3-$400. to fab and make properly from scratch just the metal..

The mixture fires itself once warmed up, remember at speed this will also suck in more cool air and for under £70 right now it's worth finding out.

Si alguien puede ayudarme para saber donde la venden me interesa y le agradecería por la información
Hola donde puedo comprar uno

Really not the best idea, one is probably always to cut out before the other.

Donde puedo comprarla mi compa
Did you have fuel pump in this machine
Please tell what is the use of that red head .....
Does it have any turbine inside ... ???????🤔🤔🤔🤔

The music is louder than the sound of your voice makes it very hard to hear you.

I'm having problems with this new youtube feature too. not happy with it, I will have a look at my gains for you

Yes then you just reweld it🤷🏻♂️
I don't think you could buy this past 2019 and now nobody sells anything like this.
Wtf is w/ the bold font in my last comment..

**if you put asterisks on both ends of a comment, you get BOLD!**
Opened package, delayed shipment, looks like a panzerfaust on an X-Ray....
it's oval exhaust... SO WHAT ? ? ?

Andres Lopez Pulzovan if the shape is smooth then it shouldn't be any prob. and that's 70bucks now.
yea I wouldn't pay money for this. you could go to a scrap yard and get some exhaust tubing and if you know how to weld then you're home free.
you dont really even to know how to weld to make a pulse jet out of metal, though i haven't seen one working
It's ridiculous, the life of the reed sheets are just too short, it's a big con in my opinion. And it would be more effective to make a pulse jet like the famous one with 2 tubes...

How on earth can you make a video about a pulse jet that's sooooooooooooo boring ??
the original redheads were better quality, made in america
junk!!!!
