He spends so much time around the adorable monster that is Yor, that it’s easy to forget Loid’s an absolute badass too

Yep! I remember hearing that the mangaka said that on a power scale of 1 to 10, average people are about a 2, Yor is a 8, and Loid is a 6
Well, with some prep time Loid would probably take out Yor in the end but in a fair 1 on 1 not really, but maybe if he uses guns.

0:12 this whole sequence was insane, crazy the animation in a damn one off tennis match is better than a whole tennis dedicated anime 💀

How are you even comparing the animation from an anime that’s currently being aired, to one that aired from 2001-2005?
This is the kind of animation we could always get when the animators are given time and payment.
It’s probably more skill than time and pay

I mean of course you need skilled animators but if you look at the difference between what the same teams can often do working on tv and film work (with film stuff generally having a lot more animation time relative to run time) it's pretty obvious that time generally is the main limiting factor when it comes to animation quality.

@@JohnDoe______ Animations look smoother when the frames per second drawn by the animators increases, if the animators are given more time, more payment to booast morale and have more passion into their work, they can take more time to map out the flow of how they want a scene to be portraited and raise the overall standards in details and art style. So while skillful and experienced animators do play a large role on making good animations, more time to work with and enough pay to encourage work quality also matters alot, especially when the Japanese animation industry are infamous on lacking both of them and overworking to meet deadline is very common for the animators.
Just because someone is paid well does not mean the end product will be good. Just because something ended up looking good does not mean they were paid well. At the end of the day, animation is a job, and creative directors will have the same expectations of you regardless of what you are paid.
There is nothing saying the people who made this animation weren't paid well -- but do not let the end result trick you into thinking it is 'proof' of the opposite.
Honestly, this scene and the dodgeball episode from the first part of the season shows how hard the animators go during sports scenes. Absolutely stunning.
Wait for Yor fight scenes next season.

I think second part of season 1 have best and more animations sequence than the first part.
Loid and Fiona demonstrating the true meaning of "skill issue." If Yor didn't exist, I'm sure this would've activated the shipper's neurons immediately.

These last two episodes have been some of the best and enjoyable of the show. The animation was top tier
it really was great animation, I noticed this as well.
It’s unfortunate that several people in this comment section are overlooking the fact that Loid, especially in this scene, is also a badass by only focusing on what Yor can do instead. Amazing that despite being handicapped by the gas and their opponents were using modified rackets, various traps, and snipers in several corners, Loid and Fiona were still able to beat their opponents! That’s some Mario Tennis s**t right there. And seriously, this animation was freaking insane!
Yeah, but one thing i have to mention, they didn't get affected by the gas.
@@bg8561 They actually did. They just had to reduce its affects after figuring out.
I wouldn't say "effortlessly". Especially with Loid's exhaustion in the aftermath and Fiona hiding her blisters. It's moreso that they took them down without worry of failure.

Those 10 seconds of back and forth felt like a sword fight scene out of the Fate series.
Seeing all these physically impossible achievements done by Nightfall only to be completely defeated by Yor. Just shows how OP Yor is 😂

if you look at the last 2 panels for this chapter, they intentionally display Yor and Fiona's respective relative weaknesses, Yor being mentally and Fiona physically, and ironically enough their strengths are the other's weakness
And Loid _knew_ Yor was way stronger. He _knew_ Nightfall would lose.

It's kind of sweet that after this, Mr. Campbell is proud of his son for learning something from the experience
Now, if Yor were to play, she would have won already by now before the sniper could even fire a shot at her
She would not feel the sniper
Pointing any form of firearm at Yor would probably result in a very short yet VERY unpleasant experience
If Yor were to play, everyone would be killed by a smash to the head
If yor played they would have lost in the first round. Because she hits the ball too hard that it become shredded ball
More like lose, Yor is way too strong to play by Tennis 's rules, she either destroys the ball or destroys the opponents, there's no inbetween with her.
Mad respect for the animation sequence between 0:11 and 0:20. Crazy good stuff.
Honestly, props to the opponents for not instantly losing. If my opponents started doing this while I was cheating, , I'd just give up.
0:12 is on par with like some of the best ODM scenes from aot

And the fact Loid and Fiona were able to beat opponents using various traps, tennis rackets with modifications, multiple snipers in the room despite being inhibited by the gas room chamber? Damn, WISE agents are built different. No wonder, why he’s their best man.

I love Fiona’s casual backflips as she flies all over the court. Cos just a backflip is hard enough. But a traveling back aerial/layout/flip/whatever? Goddamn.

The tennis episodes really only showed me how truly capable Yor must be. We saw her kick people to the point their souls left the stratosphere but we haven’t actually seen her on a mission before. I want to see her in a fight; like a real one. These episodes were so good. I hope we see more Fiona
This scene was insane, I knew this animation studio could pull out some crazy animation but I don't expect it in Spy x Family

As cool as this scene was, my favourite part was seeing Daybreak lose to them. Not only was it funny to see Daybreak return, but, if you look closely, you can see that he's using a *table* tennis racket. That's just hilarious.

@@shinda8068 After they win the first round of the tournament, there's a montage of Twilight and Nightfall beating multiple opponents; Daybreak is seen losing in the first image of that montage (and his table tennis racket is in the top-right corner of the screen, making it easy to miss. I missed it the first time and feared that the anime had cut the cameo).
