Have you ever heard of Zebra from Toriko? He's probably one of the strongest sound-users in anime and manga. His abilities range from destructive blasts of sound comparable to missiles, to more absurd abilities like being able to condense soundwaves into solid barriers or focusing sound waves to the point where they can physically cut a target, flying and transporting many people simultaneously using sound, hone in on specific frequencies that agitate the senses of living organisms, creating a resonating sound vibration that echoes inside of the target and dealing more damage, and in an absurd display of OP bullshit can replicate the 'sound of the Grim Reaper's footsteps' to cause weaker creatures to simply drop dead by essentially tricking their bodies on a cellular level into thinking they're already dead and shutting down all biological functions. By the end of the Toriko manga, a character claimed that if Zebra were to ever reach his full potential, nowhere on the planet would be safe from him and the only way to avoid his attacks would be to flee into the vacuum of space where his sound couldn't reach, to which Zebra replied 'I wouldn't be so sure of that...' In short? Toriko is ridiculously bullshit and I love it, and Zebra is one of my personal favorite characters from that series.

I mean you basically just move at 1 mach. There are a lot anime charas using sound-based power who are able to move faster than a sound, not to mention when you reach absurd charas who are able to move faster than light...
To be fair, I think Mash truly has muscle magic. It seems like his magic has been completely internalized turning him into a magic powered muscle man who can't use any of that magic as a side effect.
Think i got a handle on his power. Whenever he snaps he basically piggy backs on the sound waves and traveles in whatever direction he snaps in. I wouldnt say he "becomes sound itself" but more like he latches on to the sound waves and travels with them like a form of teleportation(i actually like this concept) but that doesnt change the fact that he is in deed faster than sound itself.
The fact that Marcaron took so many hits from Mash and still isn't bloodied shows how tough he is.
I think its because they were using sound cushions to dampen the blows.
That makes more sense. From some background ocontext, we know mages are typically very physically weak because they just use magic for everything.
