I am glad U are taking a very positive attitude and showing the wonders of Maui. I was really looking forward to spending some quality time at Airport Beach and doing lots of diving. I guess we will have to until next year to have that beer together! If we should decide to make a spring visit next year, I believe early March or late April would be the best time to miss the big crowds for spring break and still catch the whales? All the best...

Great video and sure was glad to hear that Douglas didn't do much damage to the islands. I have been over that side of the island but not stopped at this place or most of the ones you are going to next. I love Makawao and loved the Hali'imaile restaurant. Looking forward to your next video
Aloha and thank you Judith. Yea, while we are happy Douglas did not do much damage, most of us wish we'd gotten a bit more rain. Last year about this time, the fires (we are so dry) we horrific and devastating. So we'd love a good "soaking" but didn't really get that much rain. I'm heading upcountry again Saturday to try and get the places that are open. They all are open different days of the week. Thanks for watching and I hope you stay safe and sane!! The hurricance has come and gone and did not turn into Maui, thus all we got here on the west side of Maui was some light rain and wind. Nothing serious but it sure could've been worse. This is "Fire Season" when we are very dry along the Pali and here on West Maui and we wanted a good "soaking rain" so we can get through August without any major fires. Last year we had a really bad fire that you can still see the effects along the Pali and Papalaua Wayside Beach Park. Be safe and we'll see you soon!!

Who doesn't love upcountry Maui?! I know I do! So happy the hurricane left you alone. I remember years ago Hurricane Iniki and the destruction it rendered was heartbreaking. All of us on the mainland are relieved for you and for your Thirsty Turtle establishment. We certainly didn't want you to have to deal with property damages even before you opened! Last time we were on Maui we spent the day at Papalau swimming with the locals. Hands down best day ever, everyone was so gracious and kind and we learned so much about Maui and local culture:).

When I open I will use the exact same Eisenberg all-beef hot dog and the exact same toppings -- all from Chicago. Just not sure when I will open. The son had numerous operational problems, but "Oh Well" it's all good. I hate seeing the empty building sitting there on the corner for so long. I did a video of the Shops of Wailea, and I don't remember it.

Aloha Dave and Thanks for watching and commenting. Wowszie! Not that's a tough question. The meaning of life is an easier question than that question. I love them both. I admit, we tend to eat at Paia Fish Market here on Front Street a lot more because, mostly, it's a 5 minute walk for us to get there on West Maui. But when I'm down in Kihei and I want fish and chips, I definately go to Coconuts. I also tend to get takeout at Coconuts a lot more. Love them Both. Yes, I will head up to the Honolua Store (now an ABC store) in Kapalua and try that burger. For some reason, I think I've had the Reuben. I love the Reuben at CJ's Deli & Diner at the Fairway Shops, but Christian has closed for good and it's now vacant. Really, really sad to see that. Who doesn't love upcountry Maui?! I know I do! So happy the hurricane left you alone. I remember years ago Hurricane Iniki and the destruction it rendered was heartbreaking. All of us on the mainland are relieved for you and for your Thirsty Turtle establishment. We certainly didn't want you to have to deal with property damages even before you opened! Last time we were on Maui we spent the day at Papalau swimming with the locals. Hands down best day ever, everyone was so gracious and kind and we learned so much about Maui and local culture:).

When I open I will use the exact same Eisenberg all-beef hot dog and the exact same toppings -- all from Chicago. Just not sure when I will open. @@davearlen3362 Aloha Dave. Yea, the Longhi's on Front Street has been closed for a long time. After Bob passed away, the son and daughter just weren't up to the task. Tough shoes to fill, I guess. The son had numerous operational problems, but "Oh Well" it's all good. I hate seeing the empty building sitting there on the corner for so long. I did a video of the Shops of Wailea, and I don't remember it.

I always end up going to Paia fish market for fish and chips because of the cold Maui brew on tap.... Which one do you like better...? Aloha Dave and Thanks for watching and commenting. Wowszie! Not that's a tough question. The meaning of life is an easier question than that question. I love them both. I admit, we tend to eat at Paia Fish Market here on Front Street a lot more because, mostly, it's a 5 minute walk for us to get there on West Maui. But when I'm down in Kihei and I want fish and chips, I definately go to Coconuts. I also tend to get takeout at Coconuts a lot more. Love them Both. Yes, I will head up to the Honolua Store (now an ABC store) in Kapalua and try that burger. For some reason, I think I've had the Reuben. I love the Reuben at CJ's Deli & Diner at the Fairway Shops, but Christian has closed for good and it's now vacant. Really, really sad to see that. I'll go get that burger and take it to DT Fleming Beach and sit at the picnic table and watch sunset. Good Idea! Take care and stay safe and sound and sane. Best Aloha Wishes.

I had 20 sandbags in front of my Thirsty Turtle for nothing. But we always are over-prepared, as you never know which way it might turn. Thanks for your concern, all is good, and we sure didn't need any more bad news going out about Hawaii. Geeez. We need tourists to come here!!
