Phil. Never do another scratch "tutorial", like ever. You can't do it yourself, so how can you teach somebody? It's like me walking into a math class and pulling out a calculator and doing 2x2 and showing them 4 on the screen, then dropping the calculator on the floor and shouting "math" on the way out the door.
YOU ALSO NEED TO PROGRAM THE CROSS FADER TO INSTANTLY CROSS OVER WITHOUT SLOWLY GAINING VOLUME. SO WHEN YOU MOVE THAT CROSS FADER EVEN A LITTLE YOU GET THE SONG ON THE OTHER DECK AT FULL VOLUME EVEN IF YOU DIDNT MOVE THE FADER TO THE MIDDLE.
How do you program your cross fader cause mine is works but does not pick it up 100% it’s like a second volume button instead of going straight to track the cross fader is on.. if anyone could help pls & thank you 🙏
How you really do it is with your thumb and pointer finger . And you tap the pointer to the fader while using the thumb to bounce it back to shut now add the rest of your fingers in a smooth motion. Don t worry bout speed just get use to using all your fingers on the crossfader. Rotate between one finger two three and four . Mix it up and you get that exact sound from any sample.
I learned to transform when it was first invented on numark 2-channel mixer I bought from RadioShack for like $80 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Oh and Pumpin Pete taught me 🤯😎 before his first DMC
@@dabaddestdj2010 Not as in able to handle with being used too much, but in the sense of when applying pressure on a turntable vs cdj it is definitely not the same smooth brain.
@@porkchopexpr3ss don’t know what you’re talking about. nobody said anything about the platter design of cdjs the topic is about if they can physically hold up to scratching which they can. scratch as much as you want on them.
@@porkchopexpr3ss That’s a lie. CDJs are actually more resilient and stronger than traditional turntables. Over 25 years, and I’ve broken more Technics 1200s on tours than CDJs.
Quick question on the crossfader do you set it to gradually fade out when I get to the end or only just a fade all the way out when I get to the other side?
Still cheating tho. To really get that sound you are actually crabbing with the crossfader and scratching . You are still relying on a already scratch sample. Try crabbing the crossfader
Try crabbing instead . This dude is relying on a particular sample to achieve that sound without actually knowing how to crab scratch. Practice crabbing the crossfader . It takes a bunch of practice tho. This dude is still cheating.

How do you put it on trans effect to make your Dj wheel sound like that

You are training your thumb to act as a spring, keep that in mind, the better your thumb springs, the better you’ll be with the fader. Hope this helps

Lol yea because no one will hear u lol, I almost forgot that, nice catch

Go to settings , type fader .. change it to scratch
You put your crossfader in Scratch Mode. Like you said, when the fader is at 1% open the other deck’s volume is heard at 100%
Wow....I'm now a pro after a 30 second vid.
😆

very good at explaining!
THANK YOU‼️everybody else just says the obvious things like stay on beat , you actually answer my question
This is the best tip ever. Thanks man
Thank you so much for the video now I’m scratching like dj jazzy Jeff😊
Great tips Phil thanks!
Good stuff Phil.
Wtf?!? That’s dope and looks easier than it is lol 😂
It's not as hard as it is in your head. You just gotta practice
It's all about finding a rythem and practice makes perfect
How do you put it on trans effect to make your Dj wheel sound like that
Ty for the tip. Lemme go and try
Try "twiddling" it with two fingers, it cuts/transforms much quicker 👍
Thanks 💖💖🥰🥰 simple and catchy
Sounds even better
Am always learning every day 😊
Thanks phil!
Sound easy but difficult to do. 😀
Think u just taught me how to stracth
U can also use more fingers to do a crab scratch
That kinda sounds like something Tom Morello would do.
Can you do, How to scratch during a tech house mix?
Thanks alot man
Very useful thank u🤣
Very nice bro
Eyyy finally learned a new skill!!! Thanks G ^-^!!!
can i use any finger or it must be thumb only
I learned to transform when it was first invented on numark 2-channel mixer I bought from RadioShack for like $80 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Oh and Pumpin Pete taught me 🤯😎 before his first DMC
It all started with d.j. focus building the hamster switch
Got yourself a new sub
U saved my dj career lmao
This is great
thx mate
Thanks!!
Whattttt👀🔥🔥🔥
This makes me feel unwell.
How or where can I obtain that sample for scratch?
❤❤❤❤❤ ty
This is how I first learned to dj, I'm a turntablist, the platter on the cdj is not built for scratching so make sure not to scratch on it too often
That’s the craziest thing I’ve ever heard lol…scratching too much has no effect on cdjs they are made with that in mind…

A CDJ platter is just fine for scratching. Been doing it for over a decade.

"Legit scratch" starts with vinyl
Find the snare then scratch it it’s easy lmao no need for this but this works too
That's what you do with the beat not the sample learn heaps of different cuts and go nuts on the sample
Quick question on the crossfader do you set it to gradually fade out when I get to the end or only just a fade all the way out when I get to the other side?
Where can I get the scratch sample?
Fab five freddy change the beat
What is that sample and where can i get it?
Smart
wow gnarly.... did you know, when you press the play button, it plays the track? crazy i know
It's so hard to do that without a good cross fader😂
First of all to scratch like a professional you should start by doing it on two real turntables preferably two Technics sl1200MK2.
Toooop

My Crossfader only reacts if i Push it to Limit.. (I‘m german.. Sorry for my bad english) I hope You know what i mean..
How can help me?
I thought its for specific reason but the thing is this scratch called "Transformer" bcs its sound like Transformers when they transforming lmao
No 😂 It’s called a transformer because you’re transforming the sound.
@@TargetAcquisition its because of the cartoon bro
Pretty much every scratch with n the last 25 years is a transform scratch
Ooooohhhhhhhhhh
How to scratch like a pro? Just work hard everyday
❤
I needed this
seen thanks
The gate at ¼: 😔
*blink* omg that’s brilliant, lol
❤❤❤❤
😲😲
that's useful!
Now try to become a pro with an analogic console.
"like a pro"
Tom morello
I DIDNT WANT DJ ONE I WANT GAME ONE
Cheat??? That's the problem with the newer generations 🤣...
Jamming😅😅
Glad you're teaching the proper way!
It’s not
I hear noise, not any form of ligitimate scratching
😂😂😂
Transformer cuz it makes women think of how good i am with my ummm fingers?😅

That’s not how Professional DJs scratch. You constantly put out bad advice and terrible techniques.
Professional djs use transforms all the time. Watch jazzy jeff and tell me this technique isn't a professional scratch.
This is not working for me at all
Try crabbing instead . This dude is relying on a particular sample to achieve that sound without actually knowing how to crab scratch. Practice crabbing the crossfader . It takes a bunch of practice tho. This dude is still cheating.
This is why everybody is a DJ now days
🤓
Yes bro support love dj ❤️❤️❤️❤️💘💘💘
That's fucken worse
i bent my crossfader thank you 😢👍
Another stupid investment. 10000$ for mixer & cd player to generate the same stupid scratching sound 30 years old!
im pretty sure he does alot more with it than just scratching
Dont cheat and little plate controllers suck get a rane twelve or a real turntable
Wait a second thats not a game engine
