- Hey everyone! This video answers a question submitted by Veronica: She'd asked me about gifts that guests had given me at Disneyworld, rules about giving Disney cast members gifts, etc.

The Stephanie you mention is my daughter! We visited in 2005 with friends, and Stephanie's friend's name is Holly! Stephanie gave pictures of herself dressed as each princess to the princesses we met in Epcot. I recognize my daughter's photo a little later in the video! We are so excited that you kept it!

I love giving characters little gifts, it's so much fun to see their reactions! I always give it to the character, but then some will hand it to the attendant to hold on to. A few of them have little places to put things, Anna and Elsa and Ariel have little boxes they will put stuff in, the girls in Fairytale hall have a little cubby they can prop stuff. But I love to see that it's fun for the characters to get things too!
I remember the first time I went to Disney, one of the Cinderella's told me that I was her daughter (or best friend. One of the two) and also told me that I could own the castle when I got older. It made me feel so special for the longest time. Because of that one Cinderella, I want to work as a Disney character when I get older and make other little girls and boys happy. I love watching your videos so I can see what working as a Disney princess is really like and so far, it sounds fun! Thanks for these amazing videos!!
I don't think too many people would hand the gift to the attendant as they usually want to see the reaction of the character but perhaps if it's a fur character who's hands may not be very flexible for holding something, then it would be a good idea to hand it to the attendant.. I have seen some adults meeting Characters and giving little gifts to them, nothing extravagant. It must be nice to receive little gifts and very cute to receive them from little kids too :) You must have gotten so many pictures, drawings and colouring in pages....so sweet :)
I didn't know anything about you before watching this video, I was just on a Disney binge and I was like "I bet she's Jasmine." Lol You really look like her.

Such good questions these were as I was wanting to ask that for myself, as when I go to Disneyland soon, was wondering if Characters do get to keep their gifts. now I know. yay. I was wondering about if I use gifts as a conversation piece with Characters/Cast Members, or if we were wanting to spend a little time with them by talking, would they be ok with that? (sorry Im rambling but hope you know what I mean haha). When I go there, I hope for a lot of Character experiences. hehe. :) You are looking great by the way, Jennifer. aw when I was three and I went to Disney I gave the princesses all drawings I made of them :) one of my first memories

i make friendship bracelets and i wanted to make each character a customized keychain of their character. i thought that would be cute if i could pull it off.

I'm not sure if you still check in here, but that Holly is my daughter! Back when they were little, she was best friends with the Stephanie you mentioned. We were there in 2004 at Akershus and I believe it was you that talked to Stephanie on our cell phone (we have photos of it...Holly just insisted that we try!). And we went again in 2005 with Stephanie's family. The 2 photos you hold up are Holly in her Jasmine dress-up at the South Hills Village Mall trick or treat. She is now about to graduate from college with a degree in Music Education, and is going on to get her Master's Degree in Clarinet Performance. You just brought back a beautiful memory for this mamma! She worked so hard coloring those pictures for you!!

We love your videos - and after you showed your headbands that you got at one of the shops at Disney Springs (or whatever it's called!), we jumped in the car and drove over and got my daughter some. She absolutely loves them! BTW, my daughter has disabilities - she's 41 - but her big goal in life is to be the next Disney Princess! :-)
We just watched your video about some of your memories and how you can have a "princess party" so if we ever get lots and lots of extra dollars in our pockets, we'll have a party and invite you and your children and have Disney Princesses there to have a good time with us. [However, please don't hold your breath on that one. lol] But you have lots of wonderful information and we're always happy to spend time with you that way!

I hadn't thought to give my kids coloring pages to the princesses, but they must love that.
Thank you for being sincere, humble, helpful and thankful for being a Disney Character. I've too many Character videos being a bit, well lets just say different. Gosh now we need to go through the family photos and see if we took any with you. A friend of mine played as Dreamfinder in the 80's and sadly non of the photos we have with Dreamfinder are with him. We have a son so we only have a few with the Princesses during our yearly visits. Our 1st visit with him was in January of 2006 so he would of been 2 1/2. It was fun to see him get all shy and blush then. Several years later we still get photos with the princesses. I think he likes it (and Dad) when they really get into conversation as Character. Thank you.

if you give a character a gift.. honestly, that's a great way to get them to spend more time with you if that's something you want. I think that's just human nature, if someone takes time to go out of their way to give you a gift, I personally, at least, would want to make sure that I returned the favor of trying to make things a bit extra special for them also. But that's just me.. if they're especially slammed (holidays, busy weekend, etc) then it might not be as long, but still, I think they will do their best.. the characters are usually being timed by staff to try and get as many people through the line as possible.. thanks so much for the sweet comment! hugs to you! xo

Is there any advice you'd have for someone trying to get hired in that sort of cast member position. Do they have any super crazy requirements?

I actually always wondered that, I gave Princess Jasmine a handmade glass bead bracelet I had made for her when I was 7 and I wondered if Disney had made her throw it out. It is nice to know she could have kept it if she wanted to. :-)

Good vid. A photo pass friend said character performers never keep any gifts. They are all thrown away. But she is new and only worked Disneyland for 1 year.

I hear different things. My friend who plays Belle whose been there for 10 years says she keeps stuff. Everyone had to show the posted manager what they got, and I guess it was up to the whoever is the decision maker.
Reck Yu aww! I kept stuff! It all depends on how frequently you get stuff...I only got coloring pages/drawings so management and attendants never seemed to mind. It was all from the heart, nothing flashy. Yes, whoever is managing has a lot of say. ❤
I worker in an agency for the protection of children, and some of them would get attached to you. I would often get little pictures and gifts and I wasn't supoosed to keep them... What happened is they made the policy after I had packed up my house and found them in a box later, but I still have them and live them. Makes me cry sometimes.
I'm going to Disney again this summer and I think i'd be but if I brought pluto some like little Milk Bone dog treats and maybe chip and dale some peanuts or something i'm guessing that'd be fine right

how do i book or get info on a princess to come to a resort room im planning a trip in 2018 (mickey will be 90) between end of oct and beginning of nov so i can catch all halloween and christmas decor but my girlfriend daughter birthday will fall right in that bracket and her fav is Tiana

I've seen people give princesses food, (Anna and Elsa chocolate, Mulan cookies (all wrapped in original packaging).. is that allowed? Not like thats something I plan on doing, but I'm just curious what they end up doing with gifts like that. Can the princesses keep it if they want?
you know, funny, I don't recall ever getting food?! maybe I did?! I feel like I've gotten food from RUclips mail though! LOL I ate it! hahaha.. it was left in the original packaging, so I imagine the characters would too! :D I'm sure they get to keep it.. xo
Is the $500 gift a rule? What if Kim kardashian came as jasmine? J/k … I would Give princess and mickey the new iPhones and see if they break character… that stinks they would’ve turned it away??

I'm thinking of planning a solo trip to Disney World soon. What I wanted to do was buy all of my favorite Disney characters gifts, and hand them to them in little gift bags, with pretty tags that say: "𝑇𝑜: 𝑃𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑐𝑒𝑠𝑠 𝐽𝑎𝑠𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑒" and such.
So far I have looked up some jewelry to give her, a tiger pendant, or a magic lamp prop, or magic carpet purse. If I were to give these to her, do you think the attendant would let her keep these? I don't want to give characters gifts, only to have them throw them away later, because they violate rules. :(
What about anything glass, liquid, or edible? I was thinking pumpkin candy for Jack, and a glass potion bottle for Sally, from The Nightmare Before Christmas.

yeah, you may have to get in contact with guest relations for that. They are still doing it, as far as I know.

I'm curious that you didn't mention tour guides. I'm going on a private tour in November and I've heard that $10-20 per person in your group is sufficient for a tip for the guide. Any thoughts?
You know, I didn't even think about that! I never worked in that department but I know the lady who was Michael Jackson & Princess Diana's tour guide back when she came with her sons in the 90s.. I'll ask her on Sunday when I see her at church and get back to you.. she probably has a better idea..

Yep I paid about £1800 for one on one we’ll me and my other half to spend 20 mins with him and his cast members ! The most phenomenal experience ever ! Especially when woody burst in and took him away 😍👌🏼
Should people give Disney characters gifts at Walt Disney World?
I know the characters love it and they do remember it. Doesn't have to be anything expensive.. hand made, simple but special. The characters that the people perform usually become that person's favorite character, and so many of them collected items of that character.. my favorite keepsakes have been cards that have jasmine on them or artwork of pocahontas. 💕

oh seriously?! at toga?! I'm thankful to say I almost always was tipped!! it was rare I wasn't tipped... I will say though, I did do facials. I'm betting it might've been different for massage therapists---because they were a dime a dozen.. and they also had to deal w/a lot of other stuff too.. awww, I do recall some getting stiffed now that you mention it.. I always felt so bad too cause it felt to me that they worked harder (physically) than the facialists.. that's rough.

Yes, they can. I'm sure Stitch will love it and show to Lilo. It's a sweet gift after all. The only gifts you can't give to them are the expensive ones and money.
