Great video of Block Island ! We are lucky enough to live there , the entire year! Never intended to live there, bought a farmhouse on the Island to use as a vacation house and we soon found out that it was difficult to leave. It's really a special place !

I grew up in Rhode Island and always thought Block Island was sort of overrated and touristy, but of course as a kid I had no knowledge of or appreciation for the nature preserve. Anyway seeing the beach roses in bloom in your video made me so homesick I can barely stand it. Next time I'm there I will certainly appreciate Block Island more. Rhode Island really is a magical place.

I have made an attempt to keep up my relationship with my New England relatives. In other parts of the country many people have never known anyone from RI. I can at a moment’s notice give at least an hour discourse on the smallest state with the longest name!

Have fun! I think its one of those things if you live there you really don't see what the tourists see. We recently went to the grand canyon in our home state of Arizona and the last time I was there was when I was 8. Hope you catch some good weather : )
I would also add the parking at Point Judith isn’t so plentiful. They’re all privately owned lots and do fill up pretty early on busy summer days (Fri-Sun). I’ve missed a ferry before being unable to find parking, getting there a half hour early. My fault for assuming it was field of parking lots, but just a heads up
I was there couple year ago. Best place on earth. If you go to the police station and get a fire permit, will cost you little money ,, you can just go to certain part of the island and make your fire, no need to bring wood, you find it very easy on the beach. We dit it , great experience.
Great video of a unique place under the radar.Great for a meditative getaway. I heard there was a nude beach there back in the 1980’s and 1990’s but I don’t know if it’s still there or perhaps it’s in a remote part of the Island. Anyway, very well done video.
Technically, there isn't a designated nude beach, but at the remote end of Mohegan Bluffs beach I have seen a few nude sunbathers over the years while taking a hike around the island.
Researching a book when I discovered your video. Knowing now where the old graveyard is is very helpful. I wonder if you the caves were the original aboriginals lived are visible anywhere?
It seems that way everywhere we travel, we may have hotel points to use and get a good deal on a flight but vacations are still expensive. Thanks for watching we do appreciate it!!!

You can bring your cars on the regular speed ferry! Make sure to make a reservation for it ahead of time. They may have a spot for it if it is not busy, though. (If you ever plan on visiting)

It's the ugliest place you can visit. You land into an ugly parking lot and everything thing is ugly. I've been to many other ferry rides around the world. This one is definitely not one you want to go . Boring

Having grown up on Long Island, I always wondered why there was never any ferry service from Montauk.

Isn't it called Point Judith? You keep calling it Port Judith. Was there many years ago, at both Point Judith, and block Island. Loved it!
