If you need to look for a Fried Shrimp Recipe, or you want to know how to make Beef Wellington, King Crab or you want to know how to cook Clams, Mongolian Beef, maybe you want to know how to cook asparagus in a pan or even a Swai fish recipe; well, this is the channel for you because I've got it all!
This guy's got the most relaxing voice!
;-)
Made this over the weekend for breakfast. Topped over homemade tortillas, Refried beans, cotija, eggs over easy. No joke: frickin BOMB💣💣💣delish! Thanks! Nothing poor about it❤️
I have had to go through my food pantry. Made this with older stew beef from the freezer, a jar of hatch green chile's, and a jar of Herdez green salsa. Added potatoes. I know its not "fresh" but it came out killer. This of course looks awesome! I have lots of pork in the freezer too that needs using up. Now I get to make the green salsa fresh. I used up my canned jars. I will be moving to Michigan later this year, so using jar/canned salsa will come in handy.
Awesome. Glad it still worked out for you. This is one of my favorite Mexican recipes.
Good luck with your canning! ;-)
I'm a chef and think you did a nice job with cooking and presentation
reading other post some people just love to point out stuff that really doesn't matter .
point is how it looks and tastes that's the bottom line . not who came up with the idea or where it originated from .
Yeah but commentators are relentless too. Not saying you are but for example, my Mongolian Beef recipe is the #1 recipe on RUclips and I always get someone telling me It's not Mongolian or "Mongolians don't cook Beef like that" bla bla bla.... So what! It's an Americanized Chinese dish called Mongolian Beef and if you follow my instruction, you're going to have some really tasty beef! ;-)
man, u must be the best cook on earth! thank you for sharing ur amazing talent!
+Andy Zheng I don't think I'm the best but I can sure shoot a good video! ;-)
Poorman, I can smell the delicious aroma through my screen everytime I watch your videos.
You've got one of those smellavisions, huh? ;-)
I could go for a big bucket of this right now! YUM!
***** I know what you mean. My family polished off every last bit of this! LOL
Making this right now! It looks so good! I used Both recipes! I tweaked it a bit by adding some garlic salt to the enchilada sauce and throwing in some pork neck bones!
Thanks Ashley, This Pork Chili Verde is one of my absolute favorites.
Thank you, great soothing voice.........
I always want to create a good dimension to this by blackening the chilies, and balancing the spices, salt and sugar, as well as oregano and cumin.
All of those ingredients are already in the sauce so, you need to watch the other video. Link is in the description.
I make mine in my pressure cooker and this reduces the cook time to 15-20 minutes, The meat (pork or chicken) is so tender and it's "lick the bowl clean" delicious.
I can appreciate that but reduction is a key factor, in this recipe, and that's not going to happen in a pressure cooker without the allotted time.
After the 15-20 initial minutes of cooking to get the meat to that stage of tenderness you can just simmer and reduce it. Or add a thickening agent (cornstarch, roux..). Either way you'Re still greatly reducing the initial cook time to get the meat that tender.
True, true! 💪
I asked my wife to step aside and made this for dinner. Used your enchilada recipe too. Wow, I eat so much... Still no regrets. At first I did miss not having exact quantities for various items mentioned. However I paused the video a few times, counted them if I could or just guessed the volume and took a gander. Very simple process and simple ingredients though. Thanks!
What? Why, I've got all of the exact ingredients for all of my video recipes on my website!

Poor Man's Gourmet Kitchen Aah! I should've paid attention. Thanks.
That looks really good, I guess I have to check out that sauce. BTW, the "use whatever you have" is a good sell too, and I mean that in a good way. Thanks!
Sometimes that's all we can do; use what we have. ;-)
FYI: Anytime I film a recipe that involves another I will always add the other recipe at the end of the video and in the description below. For example I'm going to film "Ravioli's" soon but before I do, I will be filming a "homemade pasta" tutorial, first, to reference so you can know how to do that too.
This is an amazing recipe! I made it with green New Mexico chilis. It was fabulous.
Wonderful. Thanks for letting me know.
mmm yummy! I'm making a similar version today worth fresh chicharones and pork. Mexican food all day long every day. Blessings and thank you
Thank you for the kind words. I love Mexican food too; anyday and everday! ;-)
'Hey' othat does look delicious, I'll give this ago over the coming weekend.
Theres nothing best than mexican cuisine
😵
Wow no comments on this video? Well this looks great i'm gonna have to try this soon. I'm usually the cook around the house so i'm loving your channel, great food and ideas. Thanks for sharing :)
+LeafWalker32 Thanks again. There are tons of comments on here, however, it's just that youtube has been uploading weird lately. Sometimes it even tries to tell me that certain videos have comments disabled, but they're not. Refreshing the page usually fixes the issue. Thx 4 watching
so glad I found this video was making mine complicated😄
And it's soooo good this way, too!
That green sauce look fantastic. I made a green and white pork chili in the crockpot tonight. My mom is sick and also recovering from shingles and ordinarily I would make food as homemade as possible with my own salsas and variation of a recipe, but she already got all of the ingredients for it, so I made it that way.
I also made some rice on the side thinking maybe it would be good under the chili and I'm glad I came across this video. The chili came out really good, but I'm a weirdo and will watch videos of the same food while I'm eating it or before I eat it when I have the time because I lose my appetite really quickly and now I'm so jealous of your recipe. I will be trying this very soon!
Wow.. I probably just wasted so much of your time with that meaningless comment lol. I hope you have a good night!
It's all good!
Thanks for commenting and watching.
😊👍 i like these dishes with rice alot better
Me too so 😋 🍻
this looks great, I love this stuff. we have it a couple of times a month.
Definitely one of my favorites!
I'm makeing this now and let me just tell you how good my house smells
Oh yeah, its the best! 😎
I buy what ever pork is on sell and has a good amount of fat on it. I trim the fat off then render the fat down making crispies for latter and the grease to brown the pork pieces in. Next I squeeze in a couple oranges along with the peeling, a bay leaf, evaporated milk, salt, and reg coke! The rest is the same as yours! Cheers!
wow I'm impressed your right on the dot just on the jalapeños before you put them in the blender roast them first trust me it will make it even better
I hear ya. I love roasted peppers. Check this out!

Thanks for this. So sick of the white-tablecloth nonsense. Great food that is affordable and can be appreciated by EVERYONE.
Me too and that's exactly why I created this channel. Too much blah, blah, blah out there!
You should make a Mexican E-Cook book, put it on line for sale for a few bucks. Thanks for sharing....
Great recipe! Thank you, Sir!
You're welcome.
Are you going to give this a try?
Thanks for sharing 😊
You're sure welcome 🤗 🍻
Not really carnitas (carnitas consists of all the parts of the pig) but it looks delicious. Very common in my house and that looks so appetizing. What recipe is left to make with the green chili sauce?
Zeldar From Planet Beldar I know what you mean but Carnitas just means "little meats", and I did purchase a 5.5 lbs bag full of different parts labeled "Pork Carnita" that I used in this video. See for yourself. I posted a pic on my blog. poormansgourmetkitchen.com/chili-verde-pork-chili-verde-recipe.html
And to answer your question, I like to make Chicken Enchiladas with my Green Chili Sauce. You can watch that recipe here if you haven't seen it yet: poormansgourmetkitchen.com/chili-verde-pork-chili-verde-recipe.html
***** yeah I understand the whole meat thing. I'm sorry. Btw, I did see the enchilada (it looked delicious) and I'm wondering what other meal can you make with the green chili?
Zeldar From Planet Beldar No worries, I just don't want you to think I'm trying to scam anyone. Anyway, I have several recipes up my sleeve and I'm about to film Stuffed Poblanos, so maybe you want to check that out.
***** Ohoho man. That sounds good. Looking forward to it already
Carnitas can be any meat cut into small pieces, it does not only mean a style of cooking.
i maid this in my crock pot boy was it great
Can't go wrong with slow-cooker's and recipe like this one! ;-)
Looks really good
I promise you this is the BEST Pork Chili Verde.
Doing this in my instant pot to cook faster but taste is great
that would be good to make a Chile Verde carnitas burrito 👍✌
+Carlos Tobar That's what I usually make it for.
Looks yummy 😋
Im making this next week. That is final.
I expect to here about it then!
I'm hungry now
Great video - thanks.
Glad you liked it!
Yes that looks Delicious!!!
Diamond Oh it WAS! LOL, Thx 4 Watching Diamond
good
Looks delicious
If you love Pork Chile Verde, this really is the recipe for you. Especially if you make my fresh homemade Green Enchilada Sauce. It makes all the difference in the world, trust me!
So tasty yummy Recipe lik video
Thanks for coming
Love the video, can't wait to make this!
You're going to love it! Thanks for watching!
Very nice
Thx🍻
Dude this is delicious
I'm tellin' ya!
The meat gets so tender and flavorful, it's UNREAL! ha ha
Smother that on anything ! Colorado ..
For sure 😊🍻
Sorry if I came off like an ass but overall your dish looks very good. I would just make sure to get that maillard reaction on the pork. They say that alone can contain hundreds if flavor compounds.
Yummmm 😁
Puerco is the Spanish word for pork. Carnitas is a method of cooking pork.
while were reducing the sauce do we leave the fire up high or do we turn it back down?
Low heat. In the video I mention to put the lid on and drop it to a simmer.
He said bring it to a boil.
this is really good. however mine wanted to burn real bad on the bottom. anyway to prevent this? thanks.
Lower heat, occasional stirring and maybe a thicker pan.
Thanks!
great video
Glad you like it.
Pork Chili Verde is one of my all time favorite Mexican recipes!
i will make your intro because you are the best
Dario Garcia You will love this recipe!
+Dario Garcia I've had this... It's delicious!
Looks amazing ❤️
I think I meant the green enchilada sauce pot??
What cut of pork is it?
It's Cushion meat which is boneless shoulder so, it's a real tender cut.
With white rice
Wonder can use pork chop meatwith recipe
yes
Is that the Bush’s Baked Beans guy?
Who... where??
Sounded like he said "then add these bitches" when he tossed in the the veggies 🤣🤣
I probably did! 😊
You way overcrowded your pan. Not enough sear.. You should have done it in batches as im sure you would agree in retrospect.
What did you line pot with
buy them in the store. Liners for slow cookers
Can I do this with chicken breast?
Yes
The main lesson iv'e learned from all of these videos is salt and pepper is added to almost every dish.
Any good cook or chef will tell you it is essential.
You're supposed to season almost every aspect of your dish. Salt is the primary seasoning as it magnifies the flavor of whatever youre cooking
Thank you why dont use potatoes delicious thank you
Be my guest!
pork shoulder? I am assuming,,
That would be fine!
poormansgourmetkitchen.com/chili-verde-pork-chili-verde-recipe.html
Can use pork chop
Yes
Looks relish! Thx! 😊
You're Welcome!
Delish!!!
Some beans cheese would be good
That's why this is best served over a burrito!😊
I really hate to rain on your parade but...the wording..is..I don't want to say wrong because that's kinda harsh but I'm gonna use...inaccurate...you used the term "carnitas" which is braised pork native to the state of Michoacán, Mex. Carnitas are cooked for a long time in pork fat and served plain...without any salsa..the pork you cooked is known in Mexico as chile verde..which literally translates to green chile...but all Mexico knows is green tomatillo sauce with pork...how do I know this?..I've been a Mexican for the last 50 years lol...compliments on how well you described the cooking methods and ingredients though 👍
I can clearly see that you're trying to be cool about what you're saying but what I really hate is when someone claims heritage or "expertise" to the things they're saying yet are still ignorant to they're saying
Car·ni·tas
/ˌkärˈnētəs/ noun
(in Mexican cooking) braised or roasted pork served shredded in small pieces, often as a filling in tacos, burritos, etc.
And this video clearly demonstrated Chili Verde(which the video IS titled), using small pieces of braised pork(Carnitas), yet still you confirm yet deny that's what PMGK accomplished? He clearly cooked Carnitas and turned it into Chili Verde... so what!
stupid
😂 yep 👍
I'll take 2500 gallons of it.
To go! 😂🍻
I.used flour in meat cooked it got thick cooked it with pototes dont like cilantro
Its okay if you don't like Cilantro but never use flour for this recipe. Have the patience to let the sauce reduce as the meat softens and tenderizes. That's the proper way. 🍻
I actually prefer it as soup.
Where's tomatillos
You need to watch the other video. You know, the one I mentioned about make the Green Chili sauce... 🙄 Link is in the description!
noice👍
Seriously! thx
I want to be invited to ur house for dinner. Lol
Who the hell put's chile verde over white rice... You lost me as soon as I saw that
My husband does and he's Mexican. I learned to make it that way for him from his mom. Sometimes he likes Spanish rice but he mostly like it on white rice.
Trust me, you were already lost! 😕
I tried and failed lol
Really... what happened?
