Hey, you made it this far! Thank you for watching, make sure to come back & say hi before you leave... its not safe to go alone...
Imagine the Warrior is Blizzard and the Soul Gem is Activision....
Perfect analogy.
So at this point we are to assume there is no Warrior left? :P
So where is the barbarian?
@@Yr_218 If we take all analogies into consideration then that would mean that the Barbarians(game devs of Blizzard) abandoned the warrior(Blizzard) and a Rogue(being Activision) because of their incompetence.
@@Yr_218 Grinding Gear Games is Barbarian . Developers Diablo II: Resurrected is Tyrael who try to save Sanctuary(Diablo Game)
And as our grandparents had their B&W movies, we have +20yrs old games and associated lore; quotes and melodies engraved deep in our minds....
"Allll that awaits you is the wrath of my master"
Funny you mentioned "melodies". I can't listen to 80's-90's Metallica without thinking of hours spent dungeon crawling.
@@beaver6d9 Abandon your foolish quest! All that awaits you is the wrath of my master!
God, Diablo I and II were just incredible games.
The ending of Diablo 1 absolutely blew my mind when I was younger, when you realize one of the greatest triumphs for good was actually an ingeniously laid trap by evil. Diablo is patient, so he took his time chipping away at Aidan's sanity, until he finally broke him. No sane man could think he could contain Diablo's essence by himself. Poor man....
I actually liked the old lore. King Leoric being too righteous for Diablo to completely dominate but powerful enough to drive insane. I really hate the new lore "we actively plan to fail." I prefered whek Diablo adapted to bad situations.
Man, I get such goosebumps every time Marius says "I heard a voice then...like a thousand needles in my heart." Such legendary voice acting...
Right.??
Never fails to put another thousand needles in my heart.
It really makes you feel like, if you were him, that’s how you would feel. The tone in voice the ride and fall of it. Great voice acting.
"He was fighting demons of his own"
His father, mother, bother, even his daughter.
Diablo ruined this guy's ENTIRE family.
not just Diablo also Lazarus
@@tiffanywithers9298 yehnthat prty messed up with mans entire fsmily being cursed
I would die happy if Blizzard did a complete redo of Diablo 1 just like they did with Diablo 2. D1 deserves it imo
I think, largely due to the retcon related to the warrior they're unlikely to, it would be too inconsistent due to the dialogue in game meaning rather than what they did with Diablo 2 with predominantly enhanced visuals they'd also need to rerecord the voice work, at which point they may as well fully remake the whole game which I'd guess would be more costly than Blizzard feels worth it, not to mention with the release of Diablo 3, 2 feels more like the true start of the overarching story and 1 feels more like a prologue in a way (to me personally at least) if that makes sense...but we can live in hope I suppose, if they saw enough to demand for a remake of Diablo 1 it could happen, I'd definitely be on board for that 1 has the best atmosphere and mood for me as well as in my opinion the more memorable NPCs
I know it’s not the same thing but they do a yearly event in Diablo 3 where you get to re run the old games dungeon
I could have accepted that the Warrior was an illegitimate son of the king, born and raised far away from Tristan, and who later went there once the heard of all that had happened. I cannot accept him as the eldest son (and thus heir) because it contradicts too much lore. Diablo I game and manual clearly stated that Albrecht was the only son of the king, which is why it was so important to find him (and maintain the kingdom). The tavern owner mentions that the player (regardless of the class) was an on old friend. Diablo 2 manual stated (in Deckard Cain’s words) that no one knew the name of the Warrior, which I think makes little sense. They couldn’t have known him when he arrived, but after he adventured in the catacombs and there were celebrations no one bothered to ask his name? I’d ignore that passage from the manual. If the developers simply correct the entire Warrior/Aidan debacle by claiming that he was an illegitimate child the entire problem would disappear.
Thats an amazing concept. The bastards attempt at redemption
Exactly my saying
In both games the warrior is was a stranger who no one knew
Many people say in diablo 3 it was said he is the oldest son but I never really played that boring kids game
They should start with making diablo 3 non-canon
@@ChrisAtheist 💯
This RUclips blogger is wrong. The wanderer was not Leoric’s son, but a regular villager.
@@Igorsov Or the bastard son of the king whom never knew his true farther and heritage.
If only someone told Aiden to smash the Soulstone upon the Hellforge that he passed on the way to Hell... Or maybe just borrow the Anvil of Fury back for a moment.
he could at least have town portaled up to Deckard and confer with the Last of the Horadric mages that was tasked with safeguarding the stone ... although I concede Cain did a terrible job at that LOL
@@ditmarvanbelle1061 yea didn't they throw him a party cain didn't mention anything about the stone in his forehead
It would be epic if Aidan has been sent by tyrael and it was a plan for the heavenly forces to delay Diablo and that Aidan's soul leaving his body would have ascended to heaven and become an angel :D That would be cool to see.
The dark wanderer isn't dragging his sword, it's what's left of warrior clinging onto his weapon.
The wanderer's hand shaking with sword before dropping it, is the warrior trying to lift his weapon for the last time.
Once he drops the sword, the warrior is no more. As is symbolized by the wanderer leaving without the sword in hand, leaving it back to perish in fire along with memory of its original owner.
Thats a great take
Huh, so did the Wanderer actually drop that gem?
It can't be the soul stone, but maybe a gem that holds part of Aiden's soul?
Could be a cool plot point for 4.
diablo kept marius alive to see when he was pushing his host body during his travelling to the East
you can tell by your videos that you love Diablo 1 as much as i do? at least it seems so. so many show the same passion for D2. but D1 will always be my fav, admitted tho it was my first.
Yeah, D1s tone & characters really does it for me, personally
D1 is darker, more gritty. Just the way I love it. I have D2 and D1 installed, and it is always D1 that gets booted up for me.
Man Diablo 1 needs a remake! I have fond memories of the game I bought it when it launched for PC! Diablo 1 is a different beast but good!
Could it be that Aiden, the child was too weak to make the journey to Lut Gholein, and Diablo knew this, so the Lord of Terror used Aiden as bait for a stronger, durable host?
I think he wanted that warrior tanking to retake Hell
Anybody else prefer the design of Diablo from Diablo 1 over all other ones?
not particularly but he's not bad at all!
I wonder, what would have happened had the warrior not placed the stone within himself, Diablo would have reincarnated, but weaker as just a demon without a host right? wouldn't he and his party of blood raven and the summoner be able to slay him again without the taint of the implanted soul stone in the Warrior?
All I know is, even if it were possible to contain the demon, stabbing himself in the head with the stone was not the right way to do it. All that did was inflict brain damage on himself, which isn't exactly productive.
The more i heard "retconed by diablo 3", the more haterd built up within me towards D3. I guess i got affected by mephisto corruption lol.
Sublime video!
Enjoyable to the last drop
Thank you!
Me at the ending of diablo 1
But why.....why would you do that. Why would you do any of that?
How soulstones work are confusing as hell.
what other choice did he have?
the concept in this is pretty solid, i just wish blizz didn't rely so heavily on retconning to create their stories, keeping track it feels like you need to look over the entire history for all their products to see if they retconned anything or not whenever something new happens.
They had to retcon since its not the same team that did D2 and D3, besides i dont think they bothered set up anything after D2 and expansion was done, so there wasnt much to go on for a 3rd game. Personally i dont think D3 is cannon since style wise it doesnt fit and it couldnt keep me coming back to the game or care enough for the main characters.
I remember my brother trying to kill the butcher in Diablo 1. He was always and i mean ALWAYS oneshoted. I miss those days
I just want to know how Cain went from being a young white red head to an old gray black man
Desert living
He probably made a pact with Gaia to become a counter guardian
A reminder to always wear sunscreen!
And as the Tristram darkened, so too did Deckard 😂
@8:45 I can tell you what went through Aiden's head...
Plot twist:
"What choice did I have? Iran!"
Marius ends up in Iran and finds a nice house he can live calmly for the rest of his days.
awesome i knew this of course but it slipped my mind for sure. looking to see if u did the rogue and sorc now.
Warriors, fire, and gates what more do we want.great graphics great video lore Dash 😂😂
Thanks marg!
Thanks my lore Dash 😂😇
I love how all the voicelines (and the manual) in Diablo 1 undercut the "Prince Aiden" retcon, yet that's what we're going with anyway. But why? Why was it so important that he was Leoric's son? What was wrong with him just being ..... "The Fighter"?
Adds more tragedy. It fits.
The story in the game doesn't seem to match with him being Leoric's son. Why are they looking for the child so badly if Aidan could be the next heir? Why doesn't he make the proper comment after killing King Leoric? "I'll find your son" does not sound right for his OLDER son to say. You'd think he'd say something more like "Rest well father, I'll find my brother". I guess they kept that other line though so the rogue and sorcerer could use it.
You should do an audiobook for Legacy of Blood 👍
😈
@@DarkLOREDash oh, you tease
I read that book in high school back in 2006. It was a good book honestly. And that Easter egg at the end of the book where Diablo kills Xerxes for not only betrayal but also failing in his task given to him.
Hey Dash! Would you make a video about the Sin War?
JUST SPECULATION...
Also, I think the next class in d4 would be paladin/crusader/warrior.
The shadow figure from the site is a spoiler for a warrior type class. He had a shield, a cape, a hood and looks quite prominent and tall, has a stalky yet proud apearence, like paladins.
Plus, Igor Sidorenko - (an artist who works on d4) made a painting of a warrior(i saw it shared around the internet) woman who hold in her arms a sword and the aureola from above her head (that golden circle saints from christianity have obove their heads) was tainted with shadow, her face like she was going to a despair trip third time that day.
Maybe the d4 paladin would be a tormented individual, who fights wordly demons and inner demons alike?
I take those things as spoilers for the next class paladin, nice but I was hoping for a necro.
I think we will cover the sin war in the future, cheers!
I never liked the retcon in D3 about the warrior it felt unnecessary
I guess Metzen didn't have Blizz North to nix him
Why does Aidan's mouth got sewn ?
Anyone know something about that ?
Was a non canon creepy ass trailer, I'd say... for effect. Him dropping the stone too instead of it being buried in his head doesn't make a lick of sense
Maybe it was one of Aiden's 'nightmares' or 'visions' that Deckard Cain talk about when he said that Aiden woke up late at night talking about something about the East.
Oh yeah put a great evil in your body when your mind nearly broke yeah that would be a great idea😂
First, Hello Dash 👋😊 happy May
Happy May to you too!
The story of Diablo 1 and Diablo 2 is fantastic...the story of Diablo 3? Forgettable...I feel like all it did was rehash Diablo 2, but its execution was sophomoric and dumb. Also, I drew a kick ass picture of a ninja holding 2 swords and doing a karate kick. If you 're not sure how to draw, DM me...
13:32 what is that red crystal left behind on the road? It can't be the soulstone... is it?
An empty blood soaked soulstone that was no longer needed. It had transitioned Diablo to a new host, that's why "Aiden" said he left the good part of him behind, he was beyond salvation now
The retcon was stupid. Warrior should have been just some guy
Why DID Diablo/Aiden make Marius follow him? Surely he could not have planned sooo far ahead to know specifically that he'd remove the soulstone.
Unsure, guess he knew something we didn't
I think he knew that Marius was feeble minded and could manipulated by himself and his brothers whenever they may have need his aid. I don't think he knew exactly how Marius would aid them, only that when the time came, he would.
Because he knew Tyrial would show up to stop him. So he needed someone to sneak in and pull it while it was happening...
Hail to the King!
The Lore is Awesome.
In my headcannon the warrior was Marius, and he failed and ended as broken as Blood Raven or the summoner. Aidan came later and killed Diablo offscreen.
I always had the personal headcanon, until the books spoiled it, that Marius' last name was Farnham.
@@tadakimacun damn the Drunk in Tristram was Marius? Oh would have thought?
@@LagunaShirogane It's been debunked unfortunately, but I thought it would have been a cool link between the original game and the sequel.
Where is that cinematic with horse carriage from?
It's an old E3 trailer, from memory
Another interesting story!
You're amazing bro, are you working for Blizzard?
Thank you! No no, I may have criticized a few to many things to not be on their 'naughty list' for the foreseeable future 😂
What was the addon that allowed you to move about after Diablo got killed?
He became the very thing he swore to destroy…
It makes no sense that the Warrior becomes vulnerable for Diablo only because he is seeing his dead brother... In the new canon the Warrior was part of a war and he may seem alot of death before Tristram. And during Tristram...
Seeing a bunch of randoms dead versus seeing my beloved sibling whom I grew up with slain by essentially my own hands (since he murdered his body possessed by diablo) would have a drastically different impact on my psyche.
Need lore of krabraxis
Also more Ureh #KingdomOfShadows
Did he really contain Diablo only for one day?
Why not just put the Soulstone in your pocket then?
2:23 That's such a Warcraft character design. So unfitting. :-O
SAD we cant play the warrior again.... I would rather have the warrior class than the paladin and barbarian
The warrior said "betrayer" but soundeds like bitch rare

5:00 If it was Aidan than why he says ”I’ll find your son” and not ”I’ll find my brother”…
He wasn't related til a Diablo 3 retcon
Bastard son of the king he may not have even known whom his real farther was.
Poor Aidan
I don't accept the Retcon. You shouldn't either.
I totally get it, and thanks to the retcon, I wonder if some of the dialogue inconsistencies it creates is why Blizzard would remaster Diablo 2 but not Diablo 1, for instance, when you take out the skeleton king the warrior doesn't refer to him as if he was his own father or Albrecht as his brother, and Cain doesn't refer to them as if they're related at all even though he would be fully aware...
@@cptsteele91 Or did he really know whom he real farther was he may very well have being the bastard so of the king .
