George Noble is my favorite 180 caller, followed closely by Russ Bray. Kirk is my favorite overall in terms of counting, game shot calls and those great 171/74/77 calls
Those 171/177 calls from Kirk are freaking awesome lol. His 180s not so much. It's how darts scores are supposed to be called! The Puppy is right alongside him with his style and the best 180s.

The old BDO ref Martin Fitzmaurice, big bloke with the balding pate... he was my favourite when watching The Lakeside world championships every New Year's in the 90s. Used to joke with mates that he could rest a pint on his huge beer belly! lol. Such a great caller!

Huw Ware reminds me so much of the caller who can be heard on the few surviving recordings of the News Of The Worlds finals at the Ally Pally. I imagine that when he was looking for his own style, he was inspired by that.
It's gotta be Russ Bray. Alot of people are saying Kirk which is fair but he's too inconsistent for me, he'll either do the best call of 140 or the version he does in this vid where he mumbles the 40 part. And often he does the mumble version.
Huw Ware has all it takes to be a professional referee- everything but the voice. The job is like being a radio host. You can be a good host all you want, but if you don't have a pleasant voices, no one will listen to it. Same for Huw unfortunately.
Bruno Vervoort with the help of a vocal teacher there might be improvement possible, but yeah his tone and timbre are awful. Darts is beside a sport also entertainment and you need to hype up the crowd with your calls as well.
I like Huw, he has a bit of, I cannot describe it correctly 100%, but he has an old-fashioned tone in his voice, a bit authoriative. Underrated in my opinion.
Anyone who likes to listen to the sound of hoover's or hairdryers to help them sleep, should appreciate paul hinks 180 calls. It's got that tone in sound for me.

Kirk bevans in my opinion gets involved with the match with how he calls, for example if someone has hit a 177 at a crucial and tense time he will exaggerate the call a lot more than usual.

Great video idea! I like the voice from Russ, but sometimes he takes too long and rarely makes mistakes. But i'm satisfied with the core team in the tournaments. Who is your favourite?
George Noble has always been my favourite, followed by Russ Bray. I’m not as keen on Kirk as some others, I don’t like his 180 much and his “One hundred and four Tay” has always kind of grated on me, though of course his 177 is terrific and he’s got a smooth voice, so I don’t mind him, just not as big a fan as some. Think Paul Hinks is underrated too!
