Jelle Klaasen is not a one hit wonder. He's a better player now than when he won Lakeside. He also had some very good performances in the PDC like reaching the World semi-final where he beat Phil Taylor on the way. Christian Kist is a proper one hit wonder who you missed out on.

Jelle has always had the potential to dominate darts, IMO he should be up there with MVG. He's definitely not a one hit wonder, I'd just say he's massively underachieved.

TBH I wouldn't have minded Rob Cross being a honorable mention. I understand he is No.4 in the world but when he beat Phil Taylor in the world championships everyone expected him to be the next best thing and he hasn't lived up to that expectation. Don't get me wrong he is an incredible darts player and I have the up most admiration for him, I just believe he has fallen short of expectations

Disagree on Jelle Klaasen I wouldn't call him a one hit wonder former world champion still had many deep runs in TV events was a premier league player, You could have added Christian Kist by that same logic another former world champion a good player but too many injuries have harmed his career since or Corey Cadby who made a UK open final but is still young enough to return to Darts.

I'd argue that Mark McGeeney is another one-hit wonder, he got in the final at Lakeside in 2018 and I don't remember doing anything noteworthy since. Also, it 'd be interesting to do sort of a review of the 2008 worlds, because I think no-one in a zillion years could 've predicted the 4 semifinalists that year.
What about Scott Rand he burst on the scene made semi finals in a major tournament beat both Barneveld and Wade lost a tight one to Painter in the end missing match darts then he went off the scene years after also Barry Lynn is another one plus you could count Adrian Gray aswell bit similar to Shepherd minus reaching a world final ........

Barry Lynn for sure, but is still playing really well in Braintree Super League. Know him very well
Bit harsh to call O'Shea a one-hit wonder, hasn't had much opportunity to do anything since he won the masters, and plays to a fairly high standard.
Graham Hunt who won the masters in 1997 is another one.
René Eidams actually did not disappear, he played on TV just today in the German super league. However, his form has dropped quite a bit.
