Too many variables, can't measure so hard to say. You can't critisise someone for their opinion. Yes, throwing 19 perfect darts in a row is extremely difficult , 4 players hitting 9 darters is so unlikely to ever happen again, but so is a player winning the world's 8 years in a row. In one day, technically any of the other records could be broken, it'd take 8 years to break that one.
John Part’s 18 missed match is insane, I really don’t think anyone will ever break that 😂 not kidding.. Phil Taylor’s 8 titles in a row is definitely the hardest to break. The level of competition now is just ridiculous, it’s night and day. I don’t think either record will ever be broken, but I definitely agree Taylor’s record is the greatest achievement in the sport’s history.
In Scholtens defence he had a shoulder injury which he was waiting for surgery on. He had to play that match so he’d get his prize money as he had qualified for it.
I think one record even more unattainable than Taylors 8 championships in a row, is his feat of reaching 14 consecutive world championship finals (1994-2007). Its almost impossible to even imagine someone achieving that amount of dominance in the modern era of the game.
Hahaha the Dutch commentators at the end (first treble goes in) "no....no?" (second treble goes in) "no...no?..ok" (Hamilton wins the game) "PAHAHAA" that's great
Great video mate. I think mvg’s record could MAYBE be broken but if he had it at 130+ like he should’ve, definitely would stand for a long time if not forever.
Ryan M I believe it‘s good that mvg fucked it up a vit to 123 130+ on tv could only be broken by mvg himself. Now it‘s difficult, but not impossible for other players as well 😄
123 average, means you have to throw at least 2 tripples every turn. Also you are not allowed to miss any doubles the whole match. I allready get dizzy to think about that. Averages go down so fast and so easely. Only an overpowered MVG could sniff on an average like that. But beat that, man i hope so, but i have to see it, to believe it.
@@makkie211175 nah peter wright beat it with an average of 123.50 which is 0.10 more than mvg but it wasnt in a televised match unfortunately. ill link the match ruclips.net/video/RdVCk6kkhzY/видео.html
Luke Littler not only broke MVG's record, he OBLITERATED it. He broke the record for the youngest ever player to hit a televised nine-darter in 2021 at age 14, but it wasn't live. He broke the record for the youngest ever player to hit a LIVE televised nine-darter in Bahrain at age 16.
He actually broke the record in 2021, aged just 14, but it wasn't live. In Bahrain, he broke the record for the youngest player to hit a LIVE televised nine-darter.
Van Gerwens TV high average is a bit misleading as it was only 8 legs Taylors best average which wasnt much lower was over a longer match , not sure how long but it was over 10 at least
Well... if the most missed match darts was 18 by Part v Hamilton - and Hamilton won at the end... logic would dictate this is the most survived match darts.
You and i know in what era phil made the most titles, they called it Phils darts competition for a reason. Because there was no real opponents in his early days. So most titles came way easier then now a days where the game became a professional sport and the darters became trained atletes. Also when you compare the early averages where 100 was almost impossible, you need at least a 100 now, you fit in the big league. Also winning a tournement also needs some factors, luck is one of them ( not all !!.) 1 mm above the iron and its a miss, the sport is very precisely. How is your form of that day. how is the form of your opponent. Do you roll the right opponents or not. All of that needs a bit luck and to win a tournement luck is indeed a small factor always. Averages on the otherhand has nothing to do with luck, you need to throw strong the whole match and we know that a match is not just one leg. So yeah, maybe it sounds weird, but a average of 123 on a whole game impresses me more then 8 titles in a row. But that is just my opinion.
Tim Gößling im convinced (mvg) the darting dutchman isnt human, hes litterally a super god of a dart player, his younger vids of him looked extremely lethal!
if every professional darts player would focus on not throwing a 9-darter the record of 5 years and 1 day between two 9-darters can be broken. it's just a matter of will
Im 24 years old and phil Taylor's world title amount will never be matched in my lifetime my children's grand children great grand children so on... he is the greatest of all time, will never ever be another Phil Taylor he lifted his game progressed as the years went on special player, gift from a higher power.

It has never been the highest average ever, even before it was done we had higher averages in floor tournaments. It's the highest ever in TV matches though and it probably will be in a long time
the most amazing thing about r. scholten´s average is: he still managed to win some legs

MVG was 17 when he did the 9 om tv. Youngest player to do a 9 darter in an open tournament was Only 12.
that 123 average, that one really impressed me. Because there are no luck factors there.
