    I love the speed of this video! The slower start with wide views of the landscape really helped set the stage :)

    I have had mine Sigma 500mm 5.6 DG DN Sports Lens now for two weeks, it is very easy to carry in my hands for several hours, when I carry it upside down in my left hand with the front of the Lens pointing forward, then it only takes a second to hold the Camera up to my eye and shoot, very nice and easy, I can very highly recommend this Lens !

    I've never seen cormorants portrayed so eloquently! I'm used to everyone viewing them more as a pest. It's nice to see them get some positive light for a change! :)

      So interesting! I guess for me with them being less common where I’m at I always have viewed them as fascinating ☺️ interesting to see how what you’re used to determines how exciting it is to you

      @@JeremyNeipp This is the biggest thing I struggle with on my channel and constantly have to remind myself! What's common for me, could be fascinating for someone else. I need to focus more on recording my common species and not just searching for rare species for my videos.

    Looks like a perfect habitat for White-tailed Kites and Northern Harriers! Love this Lens with my Sony A7rv

      Great to hear you like it to! ☺️ and you would think so! Unfortunately I’ve never seen White-Tailed Kite in the nearly 10 times I’ve been there, but I have seen Northern Harrier, saw one on this particular day just didn’t include it in the video. Coolest thing we get in that area sometimes is Golden Eagle

    Had a go on one recently and it really is a cracking lens. Just a shame there's still not a fast L-mount camera better suited to wildlife action shots. I'm holding out hope for an S1II that finally pulls the L-mount over the 10 FPS w/ continuous AF barrier they seem to have been stuck behind for years 😅 Alongside some tasty phase-detect AF of course!

    Lovely images of the cormorants. Thanks for sharing. On a crop sensor, 500mm is plenty of reach when birding. I wish this was available for the Canon RF mount, as it is 1/3 less weight compared to my RF 100-500.

      Thank you! Yea 500 on a AF-C is plenty for most scenarios, even on a FF it’s great for half the time

      I would love to know a little more, have you used the Sony 200-600mm to compare it to? What is the autofocus speed and wide open sharpness like compared to the 200-600mm? I'm thinking of getting the lens but for the price I would want a noticeable image quality improvement, and no compromise in autofocus speed to the sony lens.

    • @Shawns_snapshots
      @Shawns_snapshots 4 месяца назад +2

      @@KurtisPape it’s way sharper, with AF being slightly faster. Sharpness is comparable to the 600 f4

      is 15 fps still good though? Reason i got the A1 was for 30 FPS and its silly it won't let you do 15 fps but thats sony for you.

    Hard to believe how photographers talk about weight, I carry the Tamron 150 to 600, 24 -75, 15-35 and sometimes the 24-105 along with batteries and even a notebook plus the Canon 1dx Mark 3 but now I replaced it with the Canon R5 and I hike at the age of 61.

      It's a convenience to have lighter equipment. Just cause some people like to doomsday prep their camera bags doesn't mean everyone does.

    • @JeremyNeipp
      @JeremyNeipp  4 месяца назад +5

      I do the same David, I carry a backup camera, 24-70, 16-35, 135 often in my bag beyond my super telephoto setup, the weight of the super telephoto being light is not for sake of backpack weight only, but more so for handholding capabilities while shooting. Shooting a 5 lbs super telephoto prime is much more difficult to keep stable than a 2 lbs

    I cannot understand "nature" photographers, totally geared in camouflage....but cannot silent their shutter!?🤔

    • @JeremyNeipp
      @JeremyNeipp  4 месяца назад +3

      Most any camera can’t get a “silent shutter” without electronic, which means image distortion on rolling or movement.
