I own this lens.... It's an absolute dream to use due to how lightweight it is, and the image quality is just outstanding !! I've used the 200-600mm from Sony and also the canon 500mm f4 MK1 over the years and to have something like this that's so lightweight that produces amazing images is fantastic. Btw I use mine on a Sony a6700 apsc camera so I get 750mm at f5.6 effectively. As you said in your video I find the stabilization the best I've ever used on any lens before. Great job by sigma for sure. 👍
I am trying to decide to get the Sony 200-600 or this lens for my a1. Some argue the versatility of zoom makes those a better choice. What do you guys think.
Cracking video and images Dean, do they do any converters for it and do you think Canon will ever let them make one for the RF series mount - it is exactly what I'm looking for.
Hi David, no TC for the Sony fit but they do one for the leica L mount, pending on Canons customers making there voices heard then maybe they will open the door to sigma, but no doubt Sony Canon Nikon will come back with with a similar lens soon as they will not let Sigma have all the glory within one lens (the race is on) thanks for watching
I got he Sigma 500mm 5.6 DG DN OS Sports Lens in March and I really enjoy it ! It is so compact and light weight, very easy to handle and operate, the optical image quality are excellent. Because the Lens are so compact and Light weight I can carry it in my hands and go hiking for several hours without any problems. I can highly recommend the Sigma DG DN OS Sports Lens.
This lens paired with the 70-200 2.8 mkii with the 1.4tc would be a superb 2 lens combo for anyone with 2 bodies. You'd get practically a 100-300 f4 internal zoom lightweight setup. Then the 500mm 5.6 is a perfect complimentary lens as the difference between 300-500 is justified. Great images pal
a powerful combo in anyone's bag 70-200mm f2.8 mkii + 1.4TC is what i use for Ospreys diving but i will give the sig 500 a go and see how it stands up to low light and fast action, maybe a video showing results to come (if i get time) many thanks for watching
@@dbphotofilm ye man, I often think of rebuying the 200-600 but I already have the 70-200 f2.8 MK2 and 2x TC. Most people will use the 200-600 in the 500-600 range which is why we buy the extra reach Tele lenses. There's not much difference between 500-600 imo and I'd rather have that sigma for that range I imagine. Where the 200-600 really makes sense over the sigma is on an a6700 I think as the focal range is a fair bit different. Look forward to your next upload pal

It looks to be a great lens...But for a savings of $1000...The Sony FE200-600/5.6-6.3 does it for me....Cheers
