I just found your channel and I love it. I wanted to add to your 18 ways by saying, another easy way to update your home is by changing the hardware on you kitchen cabinets and bathroom ones too, heck, even on your dresser drawers. Another one, is if you don't have the time or money to paint an entire room, how about just painting the trim around the windows or even just paint the door. I love your ideas. And I love your pleasant voice.
Yami, are you ambidextrous? Maybe it was just the camera views , but while you were sewing buttons on those beautiful pillow covers, it appeared at first you were left handed , and then, suddenly , you were sewing with your right hand! I am always admiring anyone who canes both hands like this. I am such a dominant righty! Love this great video! You and your hubby make the perfect pair for these videos. . Thanks so much for sharing with us!
AMAZING IDEAS.. YOU ARE SO CREATIVE IN MANY WAYS.. THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR WISDOM. GOD BLESS YOU.. YOUR HOME LOOKS STUNNING. WHEN WILL YOU MAKE A FULL HOME DECO TOUR ? LOVE ALL YOUR IDEAS.. I HAVE LEARNED QUICK ALOT.. GRACIAS!!
Great ideas! I also want to thank you for sticking true to who you are. Most of the You Tubers I had been watching have watched a video learning service which they promote on their channels and they had Farmhouse day's and furniture and in the past year almost all of them have changed their style to Bohemian style. While being very costly to do, it is also not a style I care for. I love your style, your thriftiness and you positive attitude, and the fact that you keep in real. And your whole family is AWESOME. The Latino Engineer and the Latino children, and Mama and Papa are all wonderful. God bless you. Another good video.
Oh Thank you Yami... you are amazing. I so needed to watch this video bc I’m struggling with making my home look more modern especially on a small budget! Great advice as always! 🤗😘☺️
Thank you! I do have a home tour series playlist for my last home. I will do a tour once I’m closer to being done with this house. 🥰 here is the link to the playlist in case you haven’t seen it. ruclips.net/p/PLl4XrGIDyyz-51deamVOhsVp1ueguY2bu
I'm here for that ! I've been enjoying ya'll for a really long time and have seen the transaction but I'm looking forward to see the totally design. I'm so curious have ya'll done other homes previously to this one & are you planning to flip this one or stay and enjoy the hard work ?
I love painting our home always and buying new bedding as well shower stuff draps so on we love u ! Thank sharing ! Painting and wood has got so expensive these days as well ! Look for sale !
Your home is stunning! I adore your aesthetic. Beautiful! Do you have any temporary ideas for a rental property where your not even permitted to paint walls or cabinets?
That was awsome. I never thought if painting the floors like that. I have the same floors you showed and would like to re do them and painting them seems mire budget friendly. What kind of paint do we use on this and how do we prep it? Would love to see your video on it.
You are amazing, I have to check out home goods. I get upset cause where I live in North Jersey, The Dollar Tree stores never have the beautiful things that I see you buying. But I love you giving us great ideas . Thanking you for sharing
I'm going to have a new home in about two years. My son has purchased a 10 acre piece of property. He is planning on putting manufactured homes for himself, me on 5 of those acres. The other 5 acres will go to his sonand stepson. I'm trying to be patient as I make plans to decorate my future home. I saw a house flipper use pallet boards to make a accent wall. I think it was on HGTV'S Flipping Vagas. It was gourgeous
You need to visit revive consignment store in South Cobb Drive and I believe there another one in Kennesaw ga, u will find everything u need sometimes at 80 percent of, I buy my curtains n pillowcase , house decor
If you said it, I missed it (so sorry). What kind of paint did you use for your tile floors. My bathroom and hallway are a VERY orange-y brown and I do like them slightly better than the unfinished concrete in the kitchen ( and craft room!), but I don’t know how long I can tolerate the color. I thought I would just be stuck, but you have given me hope. My main living room is a grey-beige color that I do like. While I am asking questions, what type of flooring would you recommend for a basement concrete floor. I am told that options other than ceramic tile are rare. Thank you for all this wonderful information and inspiration.
We went thru a dark wood phase for our bedroom. We are going to paint with white chalk and light distressing to look more farmhouse. Should lighten the suite up and make it less heavy.
Yesss!!!! I always love tips and tricks for saving money ❤️👍🤗 I love when Lowe’s does the paint sales once a year and they have gift cards if you spend so much. 😃
I would love your opinion on how I could update these lamps and still make them functional! Ok well I can't see an option to include pictures but they are glass and brown with brown shades. I want to paint them. Which I know isn't an issue but I'm stumped on the shades because I feel if I cover them, the light will not come through if its too thick...
You can definitely paint the shades as well! But if you do wish to cover them, then I would try to use perhaps a pillowcase of a similar fabric that you might have around and wrap it around the shade temporarily (you can hold it in place with clothespins), that way you can see if it will be too dark for your liking before you commit! Hope that helps! 🥰
@@TheLatinaNextDoor thank you so much for your advice! I didn't realize the shades could be painted also, I had thought just recover the shades. Definitely thinking about trying the paint option and see how it turns out!
You didn't mention but where did you take your area rug to clean it? The Garage? I have hardwood floors and would not be able to clean an area rug on them. Unfortunately, my garage is full of stuff also!
And when it comes to inexpensive paint, you can get recycled paint. Some places will take back paint and make huge mixed batches that even out the colors and make sure there’s enough to do large spaces the same color.
Yep, but I just mainly focused on the more inexpensive changes. Not everyone can replace countertops and sometimes it's not necessary if you are happy with what you have.
In Washington state, they banned the use of asbestos in popcorn ceilings in 1978. You might not want to remove any older covering. Asbestos breaks down into such small bits that it CUTS THROUGH the most delicate parts of your lungs. Due to the extra protections, professional removal is expensive, but medical bills are even worse. Intact asbestos isn’t dangerous, but don’t eat it. ;-) If it’s dingy. The actually make spray on stuff you can cover it with, asbestos free.
I liked that you actually showed us a clean part and dirty part so we could really see the difference. Thanks for that!
Awesome ideas! So many people don’t realize how easy it is to change things without buying all new items. 🤗
Great ideas! Now I just need you to look through my house and decide what I need to do! Lol!

My mom used to use flat bed sheets as curtains. Especially when you need a light or white color.
Yes! You definitely can do that! 🙌🏼💕

I don't know about Lowe's but Sherwin Williams has sales every month, just check their site. It's either 30 or 40%!

Have 2 lamps I want to up grade , can I chalk paint them and change shades?
Can you share where you got your small square?
You didn't mention but where did you take your area rug to clean it? The Garage? I have hardwood floors and would not be able to clean an area rug on them. Unfortunately, my garage is full of stuff also!
I did it in the basement. If I didn’t have a basement I probably would do it on a driveway or patio. 🥰
I love that rug, Yami! Can you link it?
What color white did you use to paint the hutch?
What model Hoover carpet cleaner was that you used?

Yes. Our house was built after they changed it here as well. We made sure to check before we did it. 😊
Where was the picture of the grout after painted? I didn't see a difference
