Tearing it down on the side of the highway and fixing it and making the show was epic 👍
You find out who your REAL friends are when you go thru something like this. When YOU help out your friends, you come full circle. I can honestly say helping my friends get back running is as gratifying as getting my own. Thanks, Craig
When Craig posts Foxbody and F100 content, I watches
Craig! There is a reason engine builds should not be rushed. Preferably with a "second pair of eyes" looking over each phase of the build.
Top fuel teams do this. They can tear down and rebuild an engine, but often they complete a phase then rotate. The next guy looks over the previous work, then continues. Engine building, and engine assembling are NOT the same thing. You have your friends who support you, it doesn't take too long to have one of them check things. A fresh pair of eyes can often catch something you may have been "seeing " for an hour or two. JS
YES!!!!100% I got ADHD and some short term memory issues and I always have to triple check my own work when I’m doing things alone, I found that things get done properly and faster if I got a 2nd pair of eyes on what I’m doing.
Also…He noticed that the pushrods were a bit short…He needed a 2nd opinion on running on those…a voice of reason so to speak.
@@Blackinterceptor999 Agreed, valve train geometry is not just for power, poor valvetrain geometry wears valve guides prematurely. If the springs are not matched to the cam, valve float causes damage to the valve stems. You can put together an engine on paper, buy all the parts, BUT pushrods should be the last purchase. Even a variation in head gasket thickness, with MLS gaskets, can throw off geometry.
I've seen guys build big expensive engines, then play with different thicknesses to get the compression ratio they want. But that should all be done in the paper phase, before checking the length of pushrod they need.
Nothing motivates like having a deadline to do something you really care about. Good job!
" Sounds damn good...... Today". I know THAT feeling, Craig. Thanks
Well sir gotta love learning how to do things the hard way.
The GT40p heads have a tiny bit longer pushrods than the stock 302 heads.
Not to expensive and will save you a lot of time and headaches
And remember Professor Speed says
"Racecar spelled backwards is still Racecar" 👍😎
I have a fox body thunderbird with the 302 sitting at a family member's house. Ive already learned a lot about it just by watching your videos, and I can't wait until I can finally go get it to start reviving it!
This car sounds so good. One of the best sounding V8’s I’ve ever heard.
Amen to the message at the end of the video, I’m 18, last week my 1979 Ford F-150 blew its 460, pulled the clip pulled the motor, no hate I just want to daily it so sourced an LS to build NA carb stroker it’s getting do e this month, give deadline to your self and be viscous to knock them out, it takes those 3 am nights and bloodshot days at work, your project deserves it
A rushed engine rebuild always creates future content! 😂 love it! 🤙
U should invest in pushrod length tools just to check length
Sometimes it’s not how you start but how you finish. You remained calm and took care of it soldiered on to the show. Great job. What are you taking in school?
Awesome, waiting for more Crewcab content
Awesome dude! Its the reality of turning wrenches, you want it to be what you envisioned you have to go out and make it happen. Then once its "done" then you get to flush it out. I'm still doing minor suspension tweaks on my truck and some future custom air intake mods I'm designing up to 3D print. Seeing what other parts need replacing, fixing, making it better etc
Wow I thought the people in the comments in the last video were being harsh but looks like they were right
Why would you do it right in the shop when working on the side of the road is so fun?
So everyone in the comments is a master mechanic with hundreds of rebuilds under their belt?
@@brandonknight7240
We watch the videos of his work, Brandon.
Craig knows enough when a problem pops up during assembly.
But that dosen't stop him from bulling on ahead and not fixing the problem that he encountered.
Bad assembly habits and cutting corners, like he is doing, is a expensive and time consuming thing, as his f100 engine is proof of.
If you are going to smoke 3-5 thousand dollars on a engine, you need to learn from your mistakes, so it dosen't happen again
He doesn't seem to be learning anything.
Because he is still cutting corners and hoping for the best.
Which, I might add, generally doesn't work out.
Dude blows more engines up than anyone I know.
It’s for the content 😂
Or because he's stupid
Thank you for the inspiration! Part of what pushed me to start my channel and modify. Awesome vid and now I want to rebuild my sn95 5.0...
I love the statement of “work ethic” . That is so true, there is not a lot of people that have that. You will help me finally get my 1970 dodge superbee and make it a reality. Keep the great content coming.
If everything was perfect, I wouldn't be a new sub just having fun watching the mayhem😂. I really enjoy the breakdowns on the side of the road, the clutch getting stuck, the antifreeze making a mess, and the stripper glitter in the oil. I'll be here for all the blown engines and rebuilds. 😂😅
Bro you didn’t lash the rockers, who does that 😢😢😢😢😢😢
2am craig
he also ignored the fact that he needed longer pushrods and rushed it instead of waiting
This^^^
@@TylerDuysen but will he learn from this experience or does he just ignore RUclips comments?
@@Adrianzx no he ignores the comments always has ive been asking for updates on projects from years ago and he never answers hes got too much going on in life i guess
The boomers don’t seem to understand, but Craig literally knew every issue with this motor by the time he had it together. Couple things were found out in the process, but he put it together because he can just fix it later and he made it to the venue as was the goal.
The Boomers..... Lol
That Model T pickup is amazing, I saw it in Detroit a couple years ago, it’s a engineering marvel. Pretty low turnout, for a Goodguys show.
Tough break young man but you will get it right!
Idling, it is your IAC fighting your idle screw. KOEO unplug IAC, back off your idle screw and set your TPS to .99 volts . Turn key off plug IAC back in, then start
Love the channel amd watch it all. Bro. Don't skimp out on the work. Check it all!
Love your content man. Keep it up!!
Love your channel sir. My favorite Ford is Mad Max's Falcon which if I'm correct is the Australian version of yours. Keep up the sick content.
Great job buddy!!!
I love we’re you broke down lol.I broke down there last week just around the ben. Bouquet Canyon.
Great update! Don't EVER so an LS swap. I'd rather push my shit than drive GM garbage!
I’m gonna do an engine swap in my project ranger this weekend, hope it works out well
V8?
Use the explorer/mountaineer 5.0 as a donor.
@@Blackinterceptor999 I have another parts truck ranger, with the same 3.0 v6. Keeping it simple, because my actual daily blew the transmission and I have the parts to get the ranger up and running
Already?😂😂😂
I think it’s time to let someone else work on your motors or you need to slow down… good podcast!
he does a good job building his engine its his right foot and lack of thinking that breaks them his f100 engine broke because he didnt adjust the carb got ahead of himself and went and beat the snot out of it cuz it sounded cool this one broke because instead of waiting for the right parts he rushed it together and then didnt even drive it decent your right he does need to slow down once hes out of college he needs to plan his builds in advance and then do them like this engine before he rebuilt it he ignored the problem with it for a long time till he couldnt no more
You took the time to do Brand new machine work & everything. #1 mistake was re using old parts… already had it completely apart should’ve just took the time to make it right
Look at his video content.
Car shows are cheap content to produce.
His money is going to other things.
Probably the f100 motor.
How much are custom billet pistons?
Which he has ordered, by the way.
Just the pistons?
$1,500? $1,600? or more for the set?
Then connecting rods, wrist pins, rings and then let's not forget the forged-steel
crankshaft necessary to spin the engine to his desired 8,000 rpm and hold together.
That 8,000 rpm engine for his f100 is a expensive build.
So, he cuts corners.
@@jaynecobb6711 and obviously pays the price for it!
@@brando7655
Yup.
Though it makes content for him.
Always a good thing I suppose.
It takes 20 minutes to lash the rockers. SMH🤯
At 16:00 start up, your idle is acting that way because your idle control valve needs replaced… you can try cleaning it but it’s cheap enough to get a new one to get a new idle :)
Now you gotta build it right.
The Black Widow definitely has the right tone. 👍🤙
Sucks that I didn’t get to see you on Saturday, I did get to see the car and it looked good
Kick ass mustang sounds wicked !!!
Foxbody never came with a GT40 intake. It was OEM on the Gen 1 lightning.
I have a black widow on my falcon (408Windor) … sounds soooo good!
I go by my Ford big block rebuild book. I can't believe you walked right past that bad ass red '50 Ford coupe.
Some DEPO dark cherry tail lights would look sweet in that fox 🤌
I switched the engine out in my 65 mustang gt in an hour and a half one time and drove it away. I blew up several engines in that car and got really good at it.
Love your show keep up the great work, go Fords
Good job man it’s sounds good too
great stuff thanks
Need to have it tuned. Rebuilding the engine and going 20 over makes a change.
So you marked the valves and found out she needed .250 longer push rods but decided to go ahead and bypass that?
Yes, why? Because it's his car why do you watch his channel like a hawk😂😂
13:30 the seats are from a 1965 thunderbird. So is the center console
back in the 90's when i was stationed in camp pendleton in ocean side i had a 93 gt with that teal green and silver bottom sitten on chrome ponies i found out about you threw terra crew keep the fox bodies alive bro ur aewrsome
Great video
It's time to put coyote engine in it.
Send Craig the 15-20 thousand dollars to do it and Iam sure he would give it a go.
It would make great content for his channel.
You are learning the hard way, first sign of trouble.... shut the fnkin thing down.... dont start it until you know wtf happened. Cars always sh1t themselves.. its what you do immediately following the noise that counts. You did well in the end. Good effort.
You must do it nice because you do it twice, or three times.
I know where there is a 1964 galaxy wagon, it has been sitting since i moved here. Not sure on condition but body looks good. It is hidden so unless you know where to look it is not seen. If interested let me know. Colorado is a fairly dry state so cars rust very slow.
I think you should double check and retorque all your stuff it would be a shame to go down again its a great build
Love the look of the merch I'm looking to getting some merch done aswwell where can I go to getting something done.
Plus your car is sick looking
Thank you , wait till you see my fox, capri wagon onley one .
Who pulls off their upper intake on the side of the road. This guy is a beast.
Love it!
I feel a lot of the guys criticizing Craig for jamming the thing back together while knowing some stuff isn’t perfect, are the same type of guys that will have some sort of failure on their own vehicle and then that’s it, it sits for months or maybe even years before they make it “perfect”. I think David Freiburger said it best when he said, “Don’t get it right, get it running”. Obviously I don’t mean that Craig should leave all the problems unattended, but hell I find it weird that a lot of you guys don’t have that fuck it we ride mentality when it comes to making a deadline/event.
Most guys don’t have a made up “deadline”. When it’s done, then you decide where to take it.
Nah most of us don’t have a mentality of a 24 year old that still lives with his mommy and daddy
Hey craig you still running the f-cam? I saw you posted a n91 on your story a while back👀
The Ford pickup engine build on the three-year plan what's going on with the Oregon motorhome
The Mustang on the hoodie looks almost identical to my first car!
Are the intake and exhaust push rods different lengths?
The gas door is actually original on that 64 ford wagon
What is your exhaust setup, the sound is music to my ears 🔥🔥🔥🔥
17:04 I watched to the end.👍
How does the oil drain from the bottom head in that cammer even remotely properly. I really hope they figured it out because that’s a beautiful build
rebuilding a Engine too fast is asking for mistakes to happen, the smallist things lie say Valve adjusting can kill a fresh rebuild. I bent push rods for this same reasson, lmao. I run my 289/ 306 arond 13.5 ARF at cruise & 12.5ish @ WOT. is the Cam your running a solid Lift Cam?
Galaxy wagon those are Thunderbird seats 64-66.
Фоксбоди всё таки вид имеет. Молодец мужик.
Will you get any more shirts on the website?
I need a black widow exhaust for my f150 now
Rad - loved the last 5:00. Perfect message to share. I went through the windowed block thing only to mope around and have it sit for a year for no legitimate reason other than to be a bitch and piss and moan about it. Get into it, tear it apart and learn along the way. You'll be that much further ahead. Great episode - keep it up man.
Blue 64 wagon has T-bird buckets.
10/10
Hey brother dying and then not starting unless you let it cool off for a few minutes can be a fuel pump relay problem it’s underneath the driver seat. It happened to me on the way to work. It was an hour long drive normally for city traffic my boss listened to the radio and knew everywhere I died because of the traffic report. I couldn’t get 5 miles before the relay would overheat and crap out and I couldn’t figure out what it was until I got to work where I could hear the fuel pump not running
Nice fox , color , an rims are perfect , put a 5.0 badge are 302 badge on both fenders an a badge on rear hatch above tailgate , an put a fire e in car cause it'll such it a fire broke ou t an u can't do nothing but watch..
I don't kn ow where you find the time, between school and still get content out. when do you sleep. and study... Regards
I love my new FOX shirt. Could we maybe give the GALAXIE a little love now and give it a shirt.
Need to take Your time. Do it right the1st time. No one wants to waste time doing it again.
DOUBLE BOBBLE DUEL COCKPIT

I, for one, am shocked.
A rebuild takes me somewhere between a month and a year.
Bro what’s the name of your shop? You work on fox bodies at your shop?
Any guesses on how long till he blows this one up ???
A week
Less. Dude likes to
Talk like he knows what he’s doing, video proof he does not.

👍
W kid for trying to move
Finish the F-100 up and running😢
Does your camera have a stabilization function? You tend to move quickly and it is a little difficult to focus on what you see. Just an observation. Carry on!
It doesn't have to sit for 3 years to do it right the first time. You were so close
