I have to wonder if the handset is not original.. There was a variant of this that didn't have the base dialpad, and that model didn't have a screen either.. I've never seen the fully-featured base paired with a screen-less handset.. I've always liked these larger Panasonic handsets.. Buttons are easy to use and see.. But the battery--that's awful.. Proprietary as can be.. I doubt there's many other models that take that battery.. Strange to see a 15 hour charge, usually they're 4-8 hours.. But a slow charge is better on the battery, so it sounds nice in theory at least.. Surprised to see something this old bearing the EnergyNonsense label.. NO MESSAGES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For such a big play button, that tiny flashing arrow sure is disappointing.. That is definitely a classic selection of Panasoinc ringtones.. You've got to test the speakerphone for a few hours before you can say the battery is good.. It could have a memory of half its capacity, and work perfectly normal for 1 1/2 hours, providing the battery's life is 3 hours.. Intercoms that go on speaker seem to be a rare breed for some reason.. The Uniden 150s, among many others, do not permit intercom on speaker.. Quite annoying in my opinion, but I suppose it's reasonable to figure most users aren't going to have lengthy discussion on Intercom requiring speaker.. The recording feature is nice, that's not a common feature either.. Changing the base ringer is another feature that's not too common.. Perhaps this phone isn't so bad after all, at least in terms of features.. The answer quality isn't too bad.. You can hear it's definitely a low bit-rate recording, but at least it was easy to understand what was being said..
That's probably true. I believe the majority of programming the features on this base takes place on the screened handset. Plus there's no Caller IQ features on this handset. But I'm surprised that the handsets can be registered and deregistered, since this system does not appear to be expandable. At least it works, I guess... Battery just died this morning, after 4 days in standby off the cradle and about an hour of talk time. Speakerphone still worked all throughout. Not too bad. Another strange thing about the intercom is if you call the base using the handset, the base answers automatically after a few beeps. But not the other way around, you have to manually answer the handset. I consider the Intercom to be similar to the functionality of a 2-way radio, so I definitely prefer them to work on speakerphone.
If it's not expandable, then it probably just works off the security code, that sets when you drop the handset into the cradle.. I've noticed that about some of the Panasonic systems I have.. Quite odd..
I thought only analog phones did the security code. Plus this charging light doesn't flicker when putting the phone on the base. Maybe the Panasanics just don't do that.
Nope, even the DSS models use a security code.. In a sense, the registration process is nothing more than a complex security code.. I've never seen a Panasonic with the flashing light, that seems to be Uniden-specific..
Great video of the Panasonic KX-TG2257 2.4 GHz Cordless Analog Speakerphone with Digital Answering System! I also an answering system that answers the call on that end called the Panasonic KX-TM100B.
@@aarondunn1489 You're not calling the Panasonic digital answering system called the KX-TM100B, you called yourself the Panasonic digital answering system called the KX-TM100B! You may want to recorrect that comment right away otherwise people are going to think you're a nutcase for believe you're a Panasonic digital answering system called the KX-TM100B!
Glad you enjoyed the video. I think Frank here is referring to you saying "I also an answering system." You just called yourself an answering machine LOL. It was kind of funny, sorry about that.
