Thanks, it's definitely possible to hide the cables, but need to bend and zip tie cables to do so. I just wouldn't recommend using the passthrough if you plan on adjusting the height often.

Just ordered mine. Aslo just bought a yamaha av receiver, yamaha 5.1 speakers , corsair strafe pad. And a ps5 . Also making my own table mat out of 1.5mm rubber base 1.4m wide 2m length for the thw desk I own. Have a x large overclockers mouse mat . Great review which made me want this 👍
I have this monitor and my only complaint is some backlight bleeding on the edges which I hear is common with VA curved panels. I managed to make it less noticeable by playing around with the colours and contrast

Keeping a strong eye out on this specific monitor for my future PC build which is going to include an RTX 3080! Would you recommend this monitor for that purpose or should I go a little higher with the budget for a 1440p 144 Hz monitor? This review was really good and makes the monitor seem really fantastic!
This really is a good monitor for the money, I was expecting more drawbacks because of the price but it's really done well for me so far. Unless you want an even wider ultrawide (like that new Samsung Odyssey G9 that would break the bank) I'd say this may be the best 3440x1440p for the price. Bud it all depends on your budget! I'll have the full review posted in a few days if you're still trying to make your mind up!

Great video! I watched this after watching your "After 1 Month" video. I am looking to upgrade from a 24", 1080p/60hz display (just snagged a 3080FE). How was the switch from the 27" curved to an ultra wide? I mostly game so I am curious how that transition will be.

I had no intention of getting an ultra wide, I just wanted to upgrade from 1080p to 1440p. When I saw this monitor announced for the price I knew I had to nab one. Going from 27" 1080p to 34" 1440p is truly a game changer. My favorite part is the resolution, but subsequently I've found myself loving the extra width. After using it for about a month and a half now, I have become used to the 21:9 aspect ratio. I gave my Viewsonic to my younger brother, whose setup is right next to mine. Every time I look at my old Viewsonic it just seems too narrow now, even though it's completely normal! When you upgrade, whatever you go with, I'm sure you'll enjoy a higher refresh rate most of all. Cheers!

I got this monitor when it came out when I built my new gaming set up it’s a nice monitor my only complaint is mine is missing the hand screw to tighten it to the stand the hooks keep it in place but I’m still pretty skeptical on it
How this monitor compare to Xiaomi's Mi Curved Gaming Monitor 34"? Xiaomi monitor is cheaper but one can say both are on the same range. I'm aware this monitor has HDR 400, but some people said low HDR sometimes is worse than no HDR. Is this one good? I prefer color accuracy and good contrast more than FPS.
As a content creator and digital artist myself, I agree with you. I'd also rather have color accuracy than FPS. The colors look pretty accurate to me, I have settings to full 0-255 in Nvidia control panel. They also match my drawing tablet well (XP Pen 15.6 Pro). Although when I enabled HDR in Windows settings, the colors at first looked a bit faded to me. I bumped up the saturation by %5 in Nvidia control panel and it seemed to have made it better. Really I can't complain, looks solid to me!
Oh and as far as the Xiaomi Mi 34, I can't say too much bc I don't own one, but specs wise they seem to be almost identical. Who knows, Gigabyte and Xiaomi could be buying the same screen panel to use in both products. But of course, I don't know for sure. I hope this helps!

I really do think that this is a great monitor. I've used it every day since it came in. Generally, IPS panels have a better color accuracy, but this one looks great for a VA. I think the response is just fine, and ghosting is not bad at all IMO, but some seem to think it is. If you're an extremely serious competitive gamer, this probably isn't your best pick, but if you're like me, a casual/competitive gamer who does video editing and Photoshop as well, it performs very well and provides a lot of screen space to work with. I haven't used the LG IPS monitor, so I can't really compare them other than saying it probably has a wider color gammut over the G34WQC. If you want a more in-depth look, you can watch my full review on it.
Hopefully it's just bad luck. While it is annoying, it isn't that noticeable unless I'm looking for it or its a completely flat color screen. It might be enough for RMA but I'm not too bothered by it, just a bit annoyed. If you do get it, do let me know if you can!
Hi, I would like to double confirm if is this monitor stand 16.5" tall at the lowest setting with stand? I would like to get 1 for my self and my desk has 2nd tier which allow me to fits something below 18" tall monitor.
I'm curious about how much ghosting/smearing this monitor may have. I have a sceptre 2560x1080 200hz monitor and the ghosting is atrocious. I was considering replacing it with this monitor assuming the ghosting isn't nearly as bad.

In order to get to 144hrz refreshrate u need to plug in ur laptop to ur monitor via Displayport cable, otherwise it isnt able to generate the 144hrz ! Also you need to go after that to ur Nvidia Settings (asuming you have a GeForce GPU) and set it manually also to 144hrz refreshrate.
I use a 2070 FE and it does really well for most games. Your 3070 will have plenty of power for this resolution and framerate for the vast majority of games.
@@riadyang5582 There's a chance you'd notice a difference coming from 240Hz, but at the same time you would also QHD resolution over the 1080p. Give/take situation I suppose.
At anything 100hz and higher I'm getting really bad screendoor/horizontal scanlines on orange and cyan colors, any colors with no, low or high green intensity does not have this effect.
They both use the same panel from Samsung, but, overall, when this launched in September last year it was just $399, which was cheaper than any other monitor with the same specs. I figured I'd give it a try and turns out it was a good call since they went out of stock for awhile after they initially launched, then came back and the price rose a bit. You'll get the same functionality with this as the AOC, but features in the UI might be a bit different.

@@SachIn-hg9os I can't speak for the AOC, but I use the Gigabyte monitor everyday and have really enjoyed it. Like I said, both use the same panel from Samsung, so the specs will be identical, just different features and UI. Get whichever one is best for your budget!
As far as picture mode I have left it in standard and any color settings I've adjusted through Nvidia Control Panel. I've mostly left stock settings and I've left G-Sync (FreeSync Premium) off. I explain why in my full review coming out very soon.
I use an anamorphic lens on my camera that naturally gives it a wider angle, creating the black bars when recording in a 16:9 format. I like the "cinematic" look lol
I'm thinking refunding my G32QC and get a G34WQC , do you notice ghosting while browsing web? Cuz my G32QC has this issue and I guess this issue is shared by all VA panrls....?
No ghosting that is extremely noticeable. I have a somewhat high DPI on my mouse and moving around at higher speeds it looks normal. About what I saw with the Viewsonic in the video. I'll make sure to do a ghosting test in the follow up vid. I've seen a few reviews of the G32QC and it seems like this panel as well as the overall build quality has improved from that monitor. But I know that's still a pretty good monitor, people seem to love it.
G34WQC also has that PIP PBP feature right? How's it ? Can you use it sorta like having 2 monitors? but without any black space between them? Can you fullscreen each of them? or will there be black space on top and bottom?

@@joyreyes6065 If the videos you are watching have a 16:9 aspect ratio, which the vast majority of youtube videos have, then yes, you will get black bars on the sides in full screen mode. If you search for videos with a 21:9 aspect ratio, then you will not get the black bars in full screen mode.
You can set a separate resolution for this monitor if you want to use it as a second monitor to your laptop. If you mirror your laptop's screen to this monitor, the resolution will be 3560x1440 for both screens. Everything can easily be set up in Windows display settings.
The monitor should just slide up and down on the neck of the stand by pushing up or down on the screen. Watch how I do it in the video, should be really easy to do.
Anyone noticed any flickering with this monitor, suffering bad with my current va panel and wanna choose different within my budget, seems to be game menus loading screens etc that I see it
Do you have G-Sync enables with your current monitor? With this monitor, the only time I get any flickering is *occasionally* when I have G-Sync enabled. It seems to be pretty common side effect of G-Sync with VA panels.
i know this is an old video but when i turn the monitor off there’s a white blinking light at the bottom am i doing something wrong or is that normal. i just recently got the monitor
It's normal. I believe the light means that the monitor is off but on standby. There's no need to physically turn it on or off, as it will automatically come on when it detects a video signal being sent to it and shut off when there is no signal being sent.

@@BACustomPCs The description for this mount says it requires extra spacers for curved monitors, do you have any other suggestions specifically for a curved monitor or should I just buy this mount and the spacers separately?
@@Rafnyc99 There is a flush square cut out on the back of this monitor for VESA mounts, so you may not need spacers. If you do, I'm sure that a washer or two will work just fine, and they are super cheap.
I'm not sure what you mean by rotating it to get a 16:9 aspect ratio, but the curve is symmetrical on each side if you divide the screen down the middle, if that's what you mean. It seems like the curve is the most aggressive in the very center.
@@bibliusz777 The only times you would ever experience the black bars on the sides were if you were playing a game that didn't support 21:9 or if you were watching a 16:9 or smaller video in full screen. That being said, the monitor does have a PBP function in the menu so you can use it as two monitors. I haven't tried it out yet, but I don't believe the monitor is quite wide enough to create two 16:9 images. I believe it would create black bars above and below the two screens. I'll be trying it out and all the other functions in my full review posting in about a week.
@W8yniac . It happens a bit in Rocket League, but only noticeable if I'm looking closely. I didn't notice it in Fortnite, but I only played a few games to test out the new aspect ratio. I really notice it when I'm editing videos bc my software uses a dark mode and that makes it easier to see the flicker. But most of the time there is no flicker, such as browsing the web or things like that. Only in FPS driven software like games or editing software. If you turn G-sync off it goes away completely.
@@JohnBlessingPaligap Sure, so you right click on your desktop and click on Nvidia Control Panel in the dropdown list. Once that is open, there should be a list on the left side. Under "display" click on "Set up G-SYNC." Check either box that say "enable G-SYNC" for full screen or windowed and full screen, whichever you prefer. Make sure you have the correct monitor selected if you are running multiple monitors. That should enable G-sync or "adaptive-sync." I hope this helps!

Yes, it's actually slightly less that 16.5" tall at the lowest setting, so you should have a little bit of head room there.

I'm curious about how much ghosting/smearing this monitor may have. I have a sceptre 2560x1080 200hz monitor and the ghosting is atrocious. I was considering replacing it with this monitor assuming the ghosting isn't nearly as bad.
Ghosting isn't too bad with this monitor. I'll be doing some ghosting tests in my full review that's going up this weekend.

In order to get to 144hrz refreshrate u need to plug in ur laptop to ur monitor via Displayport cable, otherwise it isnt able to generate the 144hrz !
Also you need to go after that to ur Nvidia Settings (asuming you have a GeForce GPU) and set it manually also to 144hrz refreshrate.
What GPU u are using? I have RTX 3070 and I dont know will it hafe power to push high frame rate....
I use a 2070 FE and it does really well for most games. Your 3070 will have plenty of power for this resolution and framerate for the vast majority of games.

@@riadyang5582 There's a chance you'd notice a difference coming from 240Hz, but at the same time you would also QHD resolution over the 1080p. Give/take situation I suppose.

At anything 100hz and higher I'm getting really bad screendoor/horizontal scanlines on orange and cyan colors, any colors with no, low or high green intensity does not have this effect.

why did you chose this monitor, over same spec AOC ultrawide ? i am also looking to buy 1 of the 2 cant decide which one to buy XD
They both use the same panel from Samsung, but, overall, when this launched in September last year it was just $399, which was cheaper than any other monitor with the same specs. I figured I'd give it a try and turns out it was a good call since they went out of stock for awhile after they initially launched, then came back and the price rose a bit. You'll get the same functionality with this as the AOC, but features in the UI might be a bit different.
Are you still using the same monitor? Is it anygood ? Plz tell me which one to buy I literally cant decide , i had a AOC 27 inch before but had a stuck pixel after few months of use thats why i dont wanna buy aoc anymore so yeah if the ones ur using is anygood i will buy that ?
@@SachIn-hg9os I can't speak for the AOC, but I use the Gigabyte monitor everyday and have really enjoyed it. Like I said, both use the same panel from Samsung, so the specs will be identical, just different features and UI. Get whichever one is best for your budget!

What settings did you end up using?
As far as picture mode I have left it in standard and any color settings I've adjusted through Nvidia Control Panel. I've mostly left stock settings and I've left G-Sync (FreeSync Premium) off. I explain why in my full review coming out very soon.

Why does this video have black bars baked in, why not upload it in 21:9 natively, especially since it's about a UWQHD monitor?
I use an anamorphic lens on my camera that naturally gives it a wider angle, creating the black bars when recording in a 16:9 format. I like the "cinematic" look lol

No ghosting that is extremely noticeable. I have a somewhat high DPI on my mouse and moving around at higher speeds it looks normal. About what I saw with the Viewsonic in the video. I'll make sure to do a ghosting test in the follow up vid. I've seen a few reviews of the G32QC and it seems like this panel as well as the overall build quality has improved from that monitor. But I know that's still a pretty good monitor, people seem to love it.
G34WQC also has that PIP PBP feature right? How's it ? Can you use it sorta like having 2 monitors? but without any black space between them? Can you fullscreen each of them? or will there be black space on top and bottom?
@@Jason-pb2vo It does have PIP and PBP settings in the on board menu, but I haven't tried them out yet. I'll make sure to include that in the follow up as well!

@@joyreyes6065 If the videos you are watching have a 16:9 aspect ratio, which the vast majority of youtube videos have, then yes, you will get black bars on the sides in full screen mode. If you search for videos with a 21:9 aspect ratio, then you will not get the black bars in full screen mode.

Can MSI notebook and G34 WQC work together with 3440x1440 resolution? because i cant have that reslotuion i have only 2560x1440. pls help
You can set a separate resolution for this monitor if you want to use it as a second monitor to your laptop. If you mirror your laptop's screen to this monitor, the resolution will be 3560x1440 for both screens. Everything can easily be set up in Windows display settings.
How do you adjust the height? I got mine today but I can’t figure it out to adjust the height
The monitor should just slide up and down on the neck of the stand by pushing up or down on the screen. Watch how I do it in the video, should be really easy to do.
Anyone noticed any flickering with this monitor, suffering bad with my current va panel and wanna choose different within my budget, seems to be game menus loading screens etc that I see it
Do you have G-Sync enables with your current monitor? With this monitor, the only time I get any flickering is *occasionally* when I have G-Sync enabled. It seems to be pretty common side effect of G-Sync with VA panels.
is it fast enough for competitive fps gaming?
If you're a casual competitive player like I am then yes, but it's not something a serious esports player would use.
i know this is an old video but when i turn the monitor off there’s a white blinking light at the bottom am i doing something wrong or is that normal. i just recently got the monitor
It's normal. I believe the light means that the monitor is off but on standby. There's no need to physically turn it on or off, as it will automatically come on when it detects a video signal being sent to it and shut off when there is no signal being sent.

@@tommyniedermann300 It is capped when using an HDMI cable unfortunately. If you switch to using a DisplayPort cable then you can get the full 144Hz
G-sync works?
G-sync works well but adds a subtle flicker to some programs. It's not that bad but if you're looking for it, it can be a bit annoying.
Does it support PBP/PIP split screen input from a single source GPU?
Yes, you can run two displays from a single GPU but you must use two of the four display inputs (2 HDMI, 2 Displayport).

@@BACustomPCs The description for this mount says it requires extra spacers for curved monitors, do you have any other suggestions specifically for a curved monitor or should I just buy this mount and the spacers separately?
@@Rafnyc99 There is a flush square cut out on the back of this monitor for VESA mounts, so you may not need spacers. If you do, I'm sure that a washer or two will work just fine, and they are super cheap.

It's really not bad with this monitor. I'd say it's about what you'd expect from a 144Hz VA, not super noticeable. I'm including it in the review.
can u rotate it left, so that it's used as 16:9, is the curve symmetrical?
I'm not sure what you mean by rotating it to get a 16:9 aspect ratio, but the curve is symmetrical on each side if you divide the screen down the middle, if that's what you mean. It seems like the curve is the most aggressive in the very center.
@@BACustomPCs i mean dividing it, so that instead of 2 black areas on the sides there is one on the left with 16:9 ratio
@@bibliusz777 The only times you would ever experience the black bars on the sides were if you were playing a game that didn't support 21:9 or if you were watching a 16:9 or smaller video in full screen. That being said, the monitor does have a PBP function in the menu so you can use it as two monitors. I haven't tried it out yet, but I don't believe the monitor is quite wide enough to create two 16:9 images. I believe it would create black bars above and below the two screens. I'll be trying it out and all the other functions in my full review posting in about a week.
Can you use it with the Series X?
Both Xbox Series do support this resolution @ 120Hz.

Yeah, naturally it will have some but it isn't bad imo

Any menu flickering with GSync on?
just a little bit. Nothing crazy but I'll put it in the upcoming review as well.
@W8yniac . It happens a bit in Rocket League, but only noticeable if I'm looking closely. I didn't notice it in Fortnite, but I only played a few games to test out the new aspect ratio. I really notice it when I'm editing videos bc my software uses a dark mode and that makes it easier to see the flicker. But most of the time there is no flicker, such as browsing the web or things like that. Only in FPS driven software like games or editing software. If you turn G-sync off it goes away completely.
What setting is everyone using
I've kept mostly stock settings on the monitor and any color/gamma settings I've changed in Nvidia control panel.
So it's not G-sync compatible after all... false advertising or support was pulled for g-sync.
It supports AMD Freesync which is supported by Nvidia via adaptive sync in the Nvidia control panel. I'm running it right now.

@@JohnBlessingPaligap Sure, so you right click on your desktop and click on Nvidia Control Panel in the dropdown list. Once that is open, there should be a list on the left side. Under "display" click on "Set up G-SYNC." Check either box that say "enable G-SYNC" for full screen or windowed and full screen, whichever you prefer. Make sure you have the correct monitor selected if you are running multiple monitors. That should enable G-sync or "adaptive-sync." I hope this helps!
