I love Scuderi! Her version of this is sung beautifully and simply (though the climatic high note sounds a shade under pitch), and she shows that you don't need a huge voice to sing this music. She sounds like the young girl who sings this aria.

I had read about Madame Scuderi in Encyclopedias of Opera, but until Tosca's Kiss never heard her recordings, or was aware of her great artistry. Her deep love and dedication to her music was apparent, in the film. She had indeed lived for her art! Her recordings are few but excellent. Madame Scuderi and other Divas of her Period are examples that Operatic acting, the wedding of words, music ,drama, did not begin with Callas. There were Diva's like Scuderi before her.
Sara Scuderi, soprano "La mamma morta" recorded 1949. stupenda qualità di voce, dolcezza e aggressività sono fortemente apprezzabili nella sua espressività densa e quasi palpabile. mangifica!
Peccato che abbia inciso così poco! Una voce Bellissima molto espressiva e un suono di una nitidezza davvero insoljta ! La Scuderi meritava di più! Celeberrima la sua tosca alle terme di Caracalla con Beniamino Gigli nel 1938! É stata poi una dei protagonisti del fin documentario 'il bacio di tosca dove a 80 suonati regala al pubblico un vissi d'arte da far invidia a una trentenne! Straordinaria!

Hanno fatto un film "il bacio di Tosca" sulla sua vita alla casa di riposo e in una scena canta il vissi d'arte!
