- Sara Scuderi (December 11, 1906 - December 24, 1987) was an Italian opera singer. She sang widely in Italy and Europe (most notably in the Netherlands)

Sara SCUDERI was a great Soprano : I met her in MILANO when she was almost 79 and I can say her charming singing was still amazing , her Voice still beautyfull and her interpretation overwhelming .
You should wacht the TOSCA’s KISS Movie (Dustin HOFFMANN) : there she acts and sings ..... I love her !!

She was elegance, a master of subtle phrasing, musical discipline, and a seemingly effortless vocal production. One doesn't find excess in her outpouring of emotion. I can imagine she was very interesting to watch onstage. Her "Mi chiamano Mimi" demonstrates what vocal artistry is possible when one "paints" with a fine brush..... Thanks so much for this compilation.

Ascoltare e riascoltare per capire quella che fu la grande scuola di canto italiano, con voci schiette, dizione perfetta e sentimento puro!
Meravigliosa. La conobbi alcuni anni prima della sua scomparsa. Era ospite della Casa di riposo per artisti Giuseppe Verdi e le piaceva accennare soesso alcune arie con ottimi fiati, tecnica ed espressione... E aveva superato i 75 anni. Una vera artista.

Her voice: beautiful. Her musicality: outstanding. Her upper register: sub par. I guess that's the reason for her not becoming a great star.
@vdarte That's sad truth. Any reasonable and audible voice nowadays is classified as heavy/dramatic.

Maybe not a great star for people who confuse what is impressive with what is important.
What upper register? The highest note on these complete recordings are the high B flats and the one B natural in "La mamma morta" and they are all exactly where they shoud be, firm and secure. A limited upper register sure did not impede Ponselle, Flagstad, and Tebaldi from becoming great stars.
@@macksawyer1844 They most definitely are not where they should be. They are extremely flat.
