I have failed multiple times because of teammates in the 8* raid. It feels easier, but teammates not pulling through everytime, so it is a good thing that they made it like that. I can hunt 9* monsters with my ice weapons, so I feel like i am doing my part in the hunt, but sometimes i die like 4 times trying to complete it because the whole time i was reseting because teammates werent pulling through and dying a ton or just leaving
Yep ive experienced that too. Its sooo frustrating when they leave so youre kinda forced to leave too and reset. Very wasteful if you happen to use a potion in that hunt they abandoned
He’s been easy in mainline games too. Its attacks are very telegraphed and with long animations and they have surprisingly small hitboxes. He’s definitely way easier than KD but it’s in line with how it is in the main game.
@@fayhd5277 Yea, arguably fairly easy- *cough* 4U max expedition quest Teostra *cough* --Ah, man, sorry. I don’t know what came over me just then. My gut feeling says it’s something I’m better off not recalling. Ah well.
It became easier because kushala already prepared us from EDI,we already got the knowledge on how to perform well with teostra plus they gave us a lot of time to prepare for teostra's weakness,1st is kushala's weapons then coral pukei and mizu events so most of us already got the kryptonites for teostra and insert on how OP gunlance is😅.Imagine if teostra came first🔥
I always found Teostra to be among the easier elder dragons in the mainline games (with Chameleos) but it really feels like they nerfed it really hard in now. So yeah it's easier to hunt and we dont use that much potions but maybe they could have given him the trail of blast mines when he lunges/runs at someone, or maybe the flaming aura (but that would probably just make everyone hunt him with ranged weapons...).
i love me a good challenge but in a game with limited free healing ill take an easier monster any day especially one that is dependent on other players. saves a lot if frustration and potions like you mentioned. kushala daoras annoying wind coupled with his uninteresting weapons and armor (at least for my use) discouraged me to engage with him. i think for me he steps just a bit too far into too hard/cumbersome territory that keeps me from farming his gear.
Same i love a good challenge but i also dont want to spend on potions haha! Teostra has been a fun balance for me and it makes it worth it to farm since breaking parts has also been easier
Meanwhile Kushala Daora’s wind barrier, gust breath, tornado projectiles and mega hurricane are absolute TORTURE in comparison. And don’t even get me started when Kushala transitions into the 2nd phase. Either you’re immune to wind pressure, are far enough away, or you just get 1 shot without any counter play….
He feels easy simply because Kushala's wind aura will cause a flinch & he will go right after you. Teo has been easy in main line games too. Honestly fighting him after Kushala is such a refresher. I've been able to break all 3 parts on 8 stars with the right team mates
He really does feel easier but I’m not going to complain, haha. For blast equipment, I think compared to Kushala you’ll likely have to grind Teo more. That is for some armor pieces reaching 8 might be a must for some sets to unlock that second skill. Moreover, blast in particular is a tedious skill to farm for since it’s tied at the moment to driftsmelts. As events have been scheduled Niantic has (sigh) tied both Teostra’s debut event with the driftstone type b event…which of course has blast. Kushala frostwind already comes with crafting three armor pieces, and that pairs well immediately with a high end ice weapon. Blast in comparison takes more grinding, with status sneak attack, blast powder and blast element being applicable skills. Also I’m wondering if blast element and powder are effectively the same skill with the same status build up effect per individual level increase. I have to say, after 42 instasmelts I got 2 blast element skills on my basarios greaves and chest for my Teo CB set. I’ll be waiting for another type b driftstone event in the future to hopefully complete blast at skill 5. That requires upgrading three teo armor pieces for smelting. As far as I’m concerned this is my last set in the game for me since all my other elemental sets are practically fully fleshed out with only weapons to max out. So I’m ok with whaling on smelts within constraints and a future event for one specific thing.
Yep Teostra needs more grind to get blast skills. The teo blastpowder feels good too but to unlock the armor pieces driftslots for end game will be a pain haha!
@@PauwerPlays Then there’s upgrading the weapon itself, lol. In my case, max grade 7 will have to do for some time. Although I’m glad that we’re not really pressured to use blast at the moment to do any particular hunts. The other elements cover ground for all current monsters, so it really is an end game challenge.
Good reason why he feels easier is his massive weakspot, the head, that doesn't move as much as KDs Get 1 hammer bro and one or two Mizu/CPP LBG users who have good aim, he's practically stun locked the entire fight, including knocking him out of Supernova, the one with the severing weapon + Mizu LBG user will be free to wail on the tail for the extra R5 as well, which can be done prior to Phase 2 as well
It's a shame 8star Teo is impossible to me. So far I have 1 win out of 6 attempts (but that was a dang good party). I'll admit, 6star felt super easy, but 8star..... My random parties just don't do enough damage and quit mid-hunt. I bring a 9star ice lance, but I guess I'll start bringing an 8star water lance and be satisfied with repelling instead of flat out failing.
It really sucks if a hunt abandons the hunt. Youre forced to reset as well. But yes going for repels if youre having a hard time slaying teostra will still be worth it. I got a horn from a repel since my group left and i stuck with it.
Honestly, I think Teostra feels easier because Niantic implemented the HR100 requirement for 8-star ED hunts. Even the Kushala hunts were much easier after the adjustment without the deadweight dragging the teams down, imo.
@@Carkeez Good point. I think were Teostra one grade higher in some HATs, it’d be a different story. I have a legiana CB at grade 10 level 2 with max frostwind, and 9* Black Diabloses in HATs are…uuuugh…Let’s just say you have to hope to have a good team of ice users or ice and paralysis users with high enough grade weapons.
it feels 10x easier than kushala, but matchmade teammates are also 10x more bad in this than in kushala. luckily the LBG has spread so i wont make it, BUT ive been eyeing the teo lance
@@PauwerPlays Somehow, I’d imagine for 9-10 star hunts Teo or Elders in general could have some extra thing to be tough. GU introduced that sort of thing I believe with Kush and Teo affecting the visibility of the players screen if the monsters were very high in rank. were Teo to have his heat damage effect in his second phase in certain instances or animations, I would not be surprised.
Should I overgrade my zinogre long sword to grade 8.4 for future mizutsunai's event, my diablos charge blade to grade 9.4 or my black diablos bow to grade 9.1
Zinogre is a strong thunder elemental weapon and it uses its own r6 material. I would upgrade depending on what you need. If you struggle against monster weak to thunder, then the zinogre long sword is a safe bet.
Man yet to beat teostra with grade 10.5 ice legiana bow. Maybe teammates are the issue don t know but stopped trying.frustrating to go 3 times and barely finish first part not worth my potions or time. I find diora much easer and have completed that ma y times with maxed zingore bow.
When teostra has flames on, ranged attacks become ineffective. You have to rely on a water melee weapon teamate to extinguish the flames fast so you can do damage as well. I suggest maybe switching to a melee weapon for now
I'm a new player, just playing under 2 months but I'm HR 122. Yeah he's easy to hunt, but he's also so tanky. (Maybe because my Water bow is only 8.2 and my Ice Bow is 7.3). Kushala is much harder to hunt and more agile.

Same, I've failed much more Teo raids than Kushala because of this
He's predictable. He fights the same on world. Difference is, this game mechanics make him extremely easier
Yep movement in now is pretty limited so we get to stick closer to teostra as well. The projectile attacks dont pose much of a problem
@PauwerPlays until you make an oddball mistake and run straight into his attacks .
The only time it screws you is when your command input doesn't want to register.
@RaiyZa_ Or let's say you think you're close enough to do an atk and they make you slide straight for him.

Yep! Teostra just uses the projectile attacks a lot and not so much fast lunging attacks

how does water help with repelling but ice not?
@Caipi2070 teostra has two states fire and blast armor. Water extinguishes fire state while ice repels the blast powders
