I agree with the playstyle... like the main series, weapon mastery is the top priority. Maybe due to the timer, focusing on more damage is being more rewarded. You can' t just run around and outplay the monster in MHN.
Yes and prolonged fights puts you in more risk of getting hit if you havent mastered the weapon. Getting hit means spending real money for potions. Upgrading weapons lessens that risk
@@PauwerPlays Yes. getting hit is a large lose. Not only you will need to use pots, a lot of time is wasted if you got knockdown. I think they need to kinda nerf knock backs and tripping.
Yeaah! when i get knocked by while using the lance, i lose so much time trying to small hop towards the monster again haha

Sheathing would waste even more time 😂 Less knock back but also more i-frames when getting up would be better haha!

I can totally relate to this. Naturally I wanted to get big and strong. My main build is Black Diablos bow.
However I was always interested in LS because of the more in-depth mechanics.... but never really invested.
Then Chargeblade came out and the mechanics were so interesting I couldn't resist. Since I main Raw... I built all of the elemental Chargeblades and gear according.
Today my favorite thing to do is to challenge 7 and 8 star monsters with grade 5 and 6 chargeblades. The fights are semi-long and you get to practice the entire move set.
...and as he said that comes with taking damage and potion use. I spend my first 4 or 5 daily potions challenging myself with the Chargeblade and then I go back to Ole' Faithful... the Cera Coilbender to finish out the day safely.
Had the same experience! Started out with raw sns then transitioned to elemental lances. Now trying to build up my elemental charge blade armory haha! It takes so much potions to learn a new weapon haha
I think the Japanese meta ranked in order is strongly favoured towards LS, then Bow/GS, LBG and SnS/DB/Lance

Great video! Disassemble is a great idea, I think in a game like this where updates can change how you like your build it's only fair to be able to recoup your time investment in some way... but I guess they want you to have an incentive to keep playing.
I'm really intrigued by the self imposed challenge of using underleveled weapons, that's my favorite type of "difficulty setting" in games.

That's the real big thing, they need to make refining parts more accessible or available to buy.

I'd like to see Japanese hunters take down strong monsters with underleveled melee weapons in Gyro. I feel like it sobmuch easier with lockon but it's a game mechanic so why not use it?

@PauwerPlays In order to play that way, though, I'd have to craft alternate weaker elemental blades because my main elementals are pretty high already.
Did you ask him is it because the Boltslicer is his favorite that he leveled it? The rest of his longswords were gr 8 and lower while Zin blade was gr10.

I’m all for beating monsters with skill… but I’ve had hunts where I land all my hits perfectly without taking a hit and my DPS just isn’t enough. So how can a lower grade weapon beat a higher star monster 😗
That's why they like poison weapons. Poison damage scales depending on monster difficulty
disassemble for refund of parts and zenny, even if its half the materials and zenny used. ive been wanting this for a while, im glad others want it too. we can downgrade in the mainline games so this would be a huge QoL update here too. besdies fixing the lag/stuttering, this is my number 1 thing i want
Yep lag can lead to us getting damaged. Hope they have a fix for it soon!
Here in the philippines, internet speed is number one problem. Niantic intentionally fix the time speed even if it is lagging. That is the reason why is it practical for us Filipinos to max the weapon.
Yes that's our biggest problem here haha. Some areas are unplayable because of poor data signal
I agree beating monsters grades above the recommendation is fun, but some weapons just cannot do it imo. SnS and Lance to me suffers the most, my builds can never kill anything past their recommended rank (G7 for 7 star, G5 for 5 star etc.)
Ive used the g7 lance to take out 8 stars and now grade 8 to take out 9. Its all about the counters
im using grade 3-4 weapons trying to take down 6stars and higher. 😢 i need mats for dps

I wish they would let us break down (disassembly) old weapon and Amors because that was force on us either build new weapon/amors set or throw out materials that would be so wasteful, times that spend on hunts to get it. Maybe return some material back in using (melting) like in the monster world games but instead of getting new material just let us break down weapon/armor and get back the materials.
They want us to keep grinding 😢

I’ve been crafting and slowly upgrading armor pieces with critical eye, critical boost and wex for when that happens.
@CTomCooper you I and a few of us have. It's OK with some weapons atm. Kulu,barioth and odo setz. But even then. 100% critboost 5 is what I'd love to get ahold of sometime soon.
The Japanese hunting style reminds me of when I was in Wrestling here in America. My teacher would say Wrestling is not about strength. I knew this to be partly incorrect. I was at the bottom of my class strength wise. I was also seeing a personal trainer for Wrestling. In addition to the Wrestling classes everyone else was doing. Strength is one part of the equation for leverage. I was trying harder than most of my class, which made me not the worst Wrestler. Though, my strength handicap made it so I never won a single match against another person.
Oh wow wrestling! I guess they are two different sports. Judo matches ends once you get the opponents back to touch the ground so you can compensate heavily with skill alone.
@@PauwerPlays In High School Wrestling you got a point if you were the first in a match to bring your opponent to the ground. Though, you had to pin them on the ground for so many seconds for the referee to declare it a win. I think 1 point was given for a first down and three for a pin. Though, it was decades ago.
Hmm what an interesting take. I kinda hunt a mix of both worlds he experienced. Im used to working with lower grade weapons aided by armor that boosts attack and element equally. Defense-wise, i practice the old "git gud" policy like playing a souls game. 😅
Yes sir! I dont prioritize upgrading armor as well but with the new deco update, i might have to invest in them now haha

the grind is endless. keep playing. exactly thats why i :) yes. yes chat feature! often play with friends and do not find them! you know what gets annoying? when i deleted 150 armor refining parts by mistake. i still have spare 150 weapon parts and have all weps on g10-4-5 after 365/days of daily
As a Gunlance main from the very beginning… i need the boom stick so frickin‘ bad in this game 😩😂 But i guess it will be one of the weakest weapons overall, like in the other monster hunter games. But i also hope it will has some cool fluid move styles :)

I go the strong weapon route because in my place fellow hunters are nowhere to be seen..... So defeating them solo must need a strong weapon.
And I go range with bowguns so I can save my potions 😅😆

For me or remote paintball instead of the stupid qr code thing, trading of rare parts for gathering and small monster parts.
Yes remote paintball would be so nice. Qr scanning is a huge hassle. You have to do it for each paintballed monster haha
@@PauwerPlays we used to not need to scan qr sad change. It's a downgrade in quality of life. Also wish we can change trade rare parts for the wing drake hide and sharp claw

I don't know but none Japanese player or any player has post videos of hunting monster 8+ whit a low grade weapond all you see is player whit max weapons hunting grade 8 and 9 monsters so better luck next time whit that unlees there's a video words means nothing good day 😉
The youtuber i showed took out an 8 star rathalos with a grade 5 weapon. He also takes down other high rank monsters using a lower pink rathian longsword. You can check out his channel
