  • Gav and Dan know that liquids always look mesmerizing in slow motion. Liquids that are self illuminating, though? Even better.
    This was filmed in a room full of loud high frequency noise, so audio has been crushed slightly so your ear holes don't fall out.

      You guys should do one where you take the flint out of a lighter, wrap it in the spring that's in the lighter, then heat it up with an open flame, then you throw the whole thing at the ground and it sprays sparks across the ground, it's awesome

    I don't know if anyone mentioned it but the first lead shot for guns was made with the same principle shown here. Lead was melted and poured through sieves from a high height to separate the stream into small drops which solidified on its long journey and landed in a water tub. Perfect spheres. French guy invented it I think.

    • @victorialeon6701
      @victorialeon6701 6 лет назад +8

      Arokace okay the mantis shrimp has a punch that is the acceleration of a 22 caliber bullet. Has 1500 newton's of force behind its punch. In fact the punch causes a shock wave that the universe can't handle so it creates a cavitation bubble that emits sound heat and light. It's bad ass.

    Idea pitch for you guys, but not really original: molten salt explosions, a la The Backyard Scientist. Melting salt and pouring it into water creates very cool explosions (albeit dangerous). Pouring it into things like fruits makes them explode in spectacular fashion. You guys are fans of massive scale, so I feel even though it's been done, you guys could do it on a larger scale. The only thing better than explosions is BIGGER explosions. Since Dan is an explosives expert, the potential for gargantuan awesomeness is there! Cheers from Canada!

    +The Slow Mo Guys can you do a video about led lights. I mean those which are in led stripes or so where you can see a yellowish square. I ever wondered if they light immediately or just slowly getting brighter. I would love to see this on your channel! ;)

    Hey, slow mo guys, can you record a sonic boom in slow motion?

    • @SomeLoops
      @SomeLoops 7 лет назад

      tigeress da dog I don't think you can, really. It will just take longer for the shockwave to reach the camera, but that won't change the effect.

    • @wroughtiron6031
      @wroughtiron6031 7 лет назад +2

      I mean, won't the slow motion camera capture the shockwave expanding?

    WOW, this is my favourite macro shot you guys have ever done. NAILED the focus, the fact that you had it on such a low aperture you can tell if either of you were off by as much as an inch the whole focus would have been completely off. Good work.
