If you rebuilt the gun and something is still wrong then there's a good chance you have dried clear built up on the inner passages. Don't know how you clean your gun but if you got a little bit of thinned out clear coat into one of the holes that supply the air to the cap (not on the air cap itself, but inside the gun typically behind the nozzle, there are two or more holes) and if either one ever had some material backflow inside, especially clear coat, then that would be the culprit. One other thing you can also try is get yourself a 10x jewelers Lupe and inspect the tip of your nozzle, needle and air cap horns up close for deformations or dents/scratches. Definitely could be a source of turbulence. Also after you spray basecoat, look at the horns on the air cap and see if both sides have the same amount of paint dried around the holes. Saw you video on Black Widow HTE... i've painted 3 show cars and a driver back in the day but would like a better gun than thw $20 throw away i sprayed them with from HF
A tip I saw you used a tack rag as you used the static gun we got one recently and they told us that to tack off first and then just pass the gun by itself like if you were spraying the plan because tack rags create static believe it or not
Yea the tack rag creates static if you move fast with it. I try to go pretty slow with it. My booth is so dam big and old I'm afraid to blow withouts tack rag might stir up some dust. But I'll give it a try. Thanks for the tip JaminG😎🤜🏼🤛🏼

I tried my dv1 again. For waterborne base it's really good. I cleared with it as well. Ended up fan in 1.5 turns and 24 psi. I did not play with psi, started high and seemed ok so just went with it. I used one at paint training for base so I decided to try it again. Water can handle a slow gun as it always lands wet.

Exactly man. Hopefully this sparks up enough comments of people experiencing the same thing so we can prevent someone from making the same mistakes that we did and spending their hard-earned money on this expecting something different.
Dv1 clear was my 2nd worst investment 🤣 it got demoted to wetbed real quick. That’s funny because the c3 cap is the only reason I have used it for basecoat 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@thetriggerman954 I tried the base cap for clear (not the b-plus cap) it does speed it up a bit. 2 holes apiece instead of 3. One full turn on the fan. It’s better but I don’t think the gun is capable of chugging clear😂 even 1.5 .. I tried 🤣 it’s a good gun for mirrors and motorcycle parts🤣
Had it for a couple years, heard that c2 cap changed it! Didn't speed it up at all.but, I do use it for candies like rr and 46v.works good for those where it needs to be atomized well and not much build
Everybody likes to run a 1.2 or 1.3 way too small everything I have is 1.4 everybody wants to use HVLP for clear sometimes I think clear and it slows the gun so slow it's terrible
@@thetriggerman954 I figured you did ! I have watched a few of your videos a couple days ago. I was making paint videos in 2007 with old digital cameras. My rep told me it's not good for our clear coat over here the way our clear coats are formulated. That's why we have to buy it from overseas because it's more suitable for their products over there. My rep advise me against it so that's not anything that I would purchase. And I doubt they would send me one to try. So we might be out of luck on that one
I just do not understand how the market got so flooded with guns, and so many of them are expensive as fk. It's not rocket science, it's a shaped block of metal with holes in it. I get paying more for a gun that transfers paint better, and maybe saves you money that way, but $800+ come on..
I guess because now days more people are painting than back in the day bigger market, professional and DIY and everyone thinks the grass is greener with the newest shiney gun. Chasing that GLASS 4 THAT ASS 😱😱
You need to do your pull-ups a little longer with your right arm so you get a little more reach ... awful close to the side of the hood ... came out beautiful though ... good to see you wear your cover ...
I spray my paint at a a lower than normal pressure and usually 1.4 2 bar or 28-30 psi fory clear but i set my gun to wide open and i dont pull my trigger all the way back so it is slower my being me i pay attention to every inch of detail in my paintjobs
A SATA 1.4 could never be to slow. It's only because your clearly project for almost 2 hours anything would feel slow doing that 😂 and yep 10k soon 🙏🏼😱

Are you in the UK? Because the CC is made to work with their clears, spray guns direct will sell you the CC but they recommend against it for the clear coats here and having used the CC nozzle set in my x5500's I would say they're right, it's mediocre for our systems

Thank you for watching my man Have a blessed weekend 🙏🏼🥳

Iwata ws400 is my favorite i was a sata guy for 25 years and the iwata changed me
Iwatas came and took a lot of the Sata guys lol in the early 2000,s that's what everyone had you were either a SATA guy or an Iwata guy

Hey Trigger, hope your day went well. I hear you man on that DV1 clear gun. I bought one about 2 years ago and have only used it once, like you said "It's a turtle" hahaha. I only sprayed a hood as well. It's in storage now. The DV1S mini gun is faster man, for real. Looks really good but just too slow. Have a blessed weekend bro.
Hey what up Justice yeah man mine was in a shoe box for the last year, and as I'm replying to you the gun is now back in that same shoe box lol my LPH 300 small gun with a 1.2 is faster than that gun. Have a great weekend my man 🍻🍺🍻🍺

Good I'm sure it works for many 🙌🏼
Never used one .....i know they're expensive as hell too ! Hood turned out nice
Trust me you ain't missing nothing brother lol Thank you for watching 💪🏼
I demoed that gun you do have to move slower. I think my iwata w400 atomizes better. Thanks for the video.🤙🏽
You have to move slower? 🤔 I didn't even notice that 😂
Great video ... DV1 should be ashamed
😉❤️
The rep at the paint store was trying to sell me on the DV1 gun, tax in would cost me more than the base. Going to rewatch your porphis videos, maybe that is a better gun for me than the inokraft drizzle D1.
Do you ever swap out the gun tips or since you have multiple guns you swap the gun?
@@runningman00900 no I don't swap out gun tips ever.
Aren't you on the west coast? Very early on your side.
When you made your drizzle d1 video, you sprays both base and clear with the same tip?
@@runningman00900 I'm in Florida. 8am. And yes with the D1 same gun and tip for both base and clear.
I'm 1700 miles north. It's 50 degrees outside today!

The Porphis PRD 717
@@thetriggerman954 thx man appreciate the reply
I use a 1.4 tip in my DV1. It helps speed it up
Yeah a few subscribers recommended it and I tried it recently, it did help a little.
You looked like you were touching the bonnet with your jacket mate , what you doing trigger man 🤣😂🤣👍🏻
Well lucky for me I wasn't touching it 😉

@@thetriggerman954 you’re still the man 👍🏻
Totally agree, why did they do a hvlp clear coat gun, not as good as a pro light
Stupidest shit ever. Went backwards 😔
They gotta try to reinvent the wheel. When they don't, it's time for the hype. Make it shiny and expensive. Some will buy it no matter what.
Is that the C2 Plus cap, or the original cap that it came with?
It's the C2 cap
Wow that’s super slow! Definitely not a HS gun.
🐢💨🐢💨🐢💨
With my guns use a 1.3 works for me just used to it I guess.Back in the Lab Trigger yes another great clip.Phil in Sydney.it's amazing some expensive guns well depends are NO better then the more cheap guns I think.Cheers.
You're absolutely correct 💯
Cheers Trigger have a great weekend my friend.
I'll stick with my spectrum HTE for base and back widow HTE for clear,, I'm not paying over 200 dollars for a spray gun
Smart man
I have a dv1 clear I hate as well. I turn the fan in to speed it up. I mostly hate how the clear atomizes.
I turn the fan in some as well. And still 💩
I tried my dv1 again. For waterborne base it's really good. I cleared with it as well. Ended up fan in 1.5 turns and 24 psi. I did not play with psi, started high and seemed ok so just went with it. I used one at paint training for base so I decided to try it again. Water can handle a slow gun as it always lands wet.
Good information to know man thanks
No problem 👍 😎
That car looks amazing finshed
Thank you Stephen 😎🫵🏼🫵🏼
Hahahahahaha my boy trig did it again he always got glass 4 Dat azz
Thanks brother got to keep it glassy for them. 😎🤜🏼🤛🏼
Hi. What static gun are you using?
Uniceltec ecogun amzn.to/4bCM3R6
I got 4 *DV1*s
sold one of them! Bought them all from devblliss rep! The guns that say for demo purposes olny'' got them all cheap $350 each one" now i wish i haven't''! This guns are slower than a grandma walking the st!! 😵💫😵💫
Exactly man. Hopefully this sparks up enough comments of people experiencing the same thing so we can prevent someone from making the same mistakes that we did and spending their hard-earned money on this expecting something different.
So the black widow is supposed to be copy of this, or at least it says so on the HF website. I think it was slow but not like this here
Naw man I have that gun and it's faster than this
Still not cheap lol.. thats why I looked at the porphis to get back into painting again part time
You ain't wrong for looking into the Porphis. 🙌🏼💪🏼
3M performance gun would kill this job in half the time.😁
A spray bottle would kill this job in half the time 🙄😬
Dv1 clear was my 2nd worst investment 🤣 it got demoted to wetbed real quick. That’s funny because the c3 cap is the only reason I have used it for basecoat 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hmmm dedicated wet bed gun now that my friend is a great idea 💡💡 😱😱

@@lukeowens3544 that's when you know you're a bad ass painter when you have a $800 wet bed gun 😎😱🤦🏼♂️🙄
@@thetriggerman954 putting it to use and still keeping it ready to rock the c3 cap🤘
This gun is very slow, thought I got a defective one.seems to use more material than all my other clear guns
Yes uses more material for sure and yours isn't defective it's just a 🐢🐢 if you read through the comments you'll see it is what it is.
Had it for a couple years, heard that c2 cap changed it! Didn't speed it up at all.but, I do use it for candies like rr and 46v.works good for those where it needs to be atomized well and not much build
@@Sumkindawonderful good idea 💡
Everybody likes to run a 1.2 or 1.3 way too small everything I have is 1.4 everybody wants to use HVLP for clear sometimes I think clear and it slows the gun so slow it's terrible
Certain guns I run certain tips with. You just have to know the gun and which tip it performs better with. It's not a one size fits all.
You need a 1.4 dv1 ... or a Satajet 90 1.3sl or an RP 2000. Those guns are fast !
I have everything that you just mentioned. Take a look at the channel 😉💪🏼
@@thetriggerman954 I figured you did ! I have watched a few of your videos a couple days ago. I was making paint videos in 2007 with old digital cameras. I laugh now because i probably could have had a big channel if i kept it up. This was before people even had iphones and androids so filming in a shop was a little tough back in the day.
hey trigger can you get the sata 1.3cc cap for clearcoat? I want to hear your thoughts on it
My rep told me it's not good for our clear coat over here the way our clear coats are formulated. That's why we have to buy it from overseas because it's more suitable for their products over there. My rep advise me against it so that's not anything that I would purchase. And I doubt they would send me one to try. So we might be out of luck on that one
Trigger are you on the gram I got a question about Dupont clear wonder if you can get hands on that in Florida?
Yea I'm on there triggerman954
And yes
@@thetriggerman954 just added you and sent a message
how is the dv1 base with sealer? is it a slow poke too?
Nah that gun is on point. Very nice gun and moves too.
🤷🏼♂️ now you see why I hate big trucks 😭 go go gadget arms 😂
I spray my paint at a a lower than normal pressure and usually 1.4 2 bar or 28-30 psi fory clear but i set my gun to wide open and i dont pull my trigger all the way back so it is slower my being me i pay attention to every inch of detail in my paintjobs
That's why you are the man 💪🏼
Yeah way to slow for me sometimes I feel like my Sata 1.4 I is too slow. Almost to 10k followers! Hell yeah!
A SATA 1.4 could never be to slow. It's only because your clearly project for almost 2 hours anything would feel slow doing that 😂 and yep 10k soon 🙏🏼😱
@@thetriggerman954 hahaha yeah after about an hour of clearing non stop as fast as you can you’ll want a fire hose. You should have seen the seen the guy who died. He was painting cars for 28 years then boats for 16 years. He would go faster then me get super close and not even look he just knew it was good. You’ll get to 10k in no time!
TRIGGERMAN iam so glad you showed me that I was going to get one later on think I be getting a Sata jet 1 3 CC or IWATA SERIES LS 400 1.3 DIGITAL 😊
Are you in the UK? Because the CC is made to work with their clears, spray guns direct will sell you the CC but they recommend against it for the clear coats here and having used the CC nozzle set in my x5500's I would say they're right, it's mediocre for our systems
Finally somebody knows what the hell they are talking about. I've been saying that for the longest but people think I'm crazy. My Sata rep told me the gun will not spray our materials that great over here. And if I purchase it it's against his recommendations.
Its a dang good gun, But Its SLOW, did i say S---L--O--------W! I used mine the other day, coming from the Sagola 4600, And hahaha, i was robot spraying and Lordy it was DRY spray from hell, (I was spraying white, so i was blind) and saw it and about died laughing... The DV1 reminds me of the HF Blackwidow 2.0 gun as in speed wise. Booth will give you a stellar finish, but speed it key in production (Which i am not in..) Im more of finish so doesn't matter, but i would rather have speed...but speed can bitecha! Kicking butt on the content sir, Next im in FL, ima come shoot with ya....PewPew
