@@prob6999 I mean its the truth. this isn't a track car and shouldn't be reviewed as such. plus we all know he is linked with traxxas so this is borderline embarrassing for the brand.
I'm sure I'm not the first, but I think a track comparison between this, and the Kraton 8S really needs to happen. Maybe a father/son grudge match?? :-D Something like a 2 out of 3 and a coin toss for who starts in which truck?
@@MarkSantaMaria would still make for a fun, entertaining video for everyone! Would be neat to see which was the better track weapon, right out of the box!
Can you adjust the rear toe? The same thing with my 8s Kraton at the Amain track had lots of push. I gave it less toe-in on the rear and more toe-out on the front. I also added more preload to the rear springs and it started to break the rear end loose around their tacky track. Was so much better.
When he brought the XMaxx I was hoping he would do a race/comparison that thing would be at home on a big loose damp dirt track. I think a slash 4x4 vxl would do great on that track!
I recently had to raise my rear roll center on my Xmaxx to push the nose down a bit. It understeers pretty bad from 60% throttle and up. I wonder if that’s translating over to the XRT as well.
Did i read that right, the battery packs is only 25c? seems a bit low for that car. I found that with some cars, you have to go into the bend with speed and just lift the throttle, no brake, to get it to turn faster, but there might be to much grip for that to work. Thanks for the video.
As bad as that looks we have to remember is on a 10th scale track. Get this on a nice size out door 8th scale track and it will probably look fine. Wish they came out with this years ago. If they just had the LCG chassis as an option I would of kept my x-maxx. Just loved the look of the huge beast but the crappy handling got tiring real quick.
I am saving up for either the XMAXX or the XRT. I am around 300$ in and am wanting your opinion. I have neither nor have driven either, so I am relying on you for what you think on these cars! I have experience with the rustler 4x4 vxl and love it. So is the xrt like the rustler?
@@leegorman3329 thats a 1/8 scale truck... if you want a 1/5 scale, its either the 8s kraton/outcast or xmaxx/xrt. i have a 6s kraton exb. which i love. but now i really want an xrt. looks way better (durability/reliability wise) than a kraton or outcast.
But in my opinion I would mess with the slipper clutch to try and fix that push. But with all that weight you would think that the brake pads would wear out pretty quickly! Good driving Mark I think that with a little teching you could get that thing to its full potential and would be a fair race truggy.
This shows the radical difference between a racer and a basher driving. Us basher would have floored it and jumped the pipe and been proud of the wipe outs. 😂😂😂👊🏻
Can you not improve the turn-in by increasing the toe-out up front OR by increasing the front and rear shock pre-load OR by adding more negative camber up front?
I've been to that track a few times around 20 years ago. I don't live in that area anymore luckily though lol. I am glad to see indy is still open and running. Really nice people there. I bought a clod buster off a guy there last time I went, yes, it was that long ago 😂
adjust the brake curve and steering with the tqi module maybe?? wish traxxas would release a bec for their big boy models already adjusting servo voltage would be nice
Most of that push can be sorted with proper diff and shock setup. That’s about all you can do since the servo is proprietary and there are no sway bars available for that truck and there is very minimal suspension adjustability. Just goes to show an XRT has no racing pedigree since it can’t possibly be optimized for racing since there is hardly anything you can do to adjust and tune the suspension. You know what DOES have a lot more adjustability to make it handle? Kraton 8S. You want camber? Sure. You want caster? Absolutely. Roll center? Yep. Sway bars? You got it. Plentiful servo options? Oh yeah. Factory adjustable ESC? Ding ding. Edit: oh and the Kraton 8S is cheaper too and comes with a metal geared servo!
That rig looks so smooth the suspension is amazing. It looks great too that green. I plan to pick one up in the spring for sure. Winter is just around the corner now so I’ve got at least 5-6 months to save before we get truly good weather again lol 🇨🇦🧐🤣
There is a company on Ebay (gulftechnologic) that sells silicone driveshaft boots, and I have to say, they are the most underrated add-on. I hated that squeak from the axles. With the boots, you can put a little grease on joints and have them sealed up to keep dirt out. Looks cool, no more squeaking, and a insane increase in the life of the CVDs. I have a set on my X-maxx and XRT. Definitely recommend 👌
I have the same charger and don't own a single traxxas battery lol. Just have to enter settings manually for other packs. The capacity, charge amperage, and balance/fast/storage type of charge.
That was my thought too, kinda reminded me of running my brushed 775 swapped E-Revo against the 2wd Slashes owned by a couple friends in one's back yard. I found that the fastest way around the corners (which were just trees) was to, as Doc Hudson put it "Pitch it hard, break it loose, and throttle out!"
super neat truck, but it kind of seems un imaginative from traxxas. Like i can buy a xrt, longer shocks, and bigger tires and then i have a Widemaxx with a cooler body?
It's just like the xmax. Buy it run it until servo goes out and replace with a stronger servo. Probably put a stiffer spring in the servo saver too. If you want to use it for the track. If not keep it the way ot is and bash it as it is advertised.
