This bridge type camera is so underrated! The lens itself seems to be very sharp, even on par of some of the L series Canon lenses but with similar price you get an amazing capable camera. The video reviews on RUclips shows fantastic quality.
Did I understand you saying that for sports photography, I can choose “Shutter Priority” and the camera can (if I so choose) select both the Aperture AND ISO automatically? That would be a VERY useful feature.
Correct. When you choose shutter priority, you choose the shutter speed while the camera selects the appropriate aperture value. In addition, you could have the ISO set to Auto. You could also shoot in manual mode with a fixed shutter speed and aperture values while allowing your camera to choose the appropriate ISO value. Thanks for watching!
Hello, BUILT DIESEL MAFIA. It works extremely well. I would go as far as saying that it gives you better quality than cropping in post. Thanks for watching!
I’m asking as I’m watching, instead of loading up questions at the end (and so I don’t forget). You mentioned the shutter types (Auto, Mechanical, and Electronic), but which type of shutter would be best for specific scenarios? And why might the camera choose one type over the other when in “Auto” shutter select mode? Thanks for any clarification!
Hello, Danny McNeal. If you are photographing fast-moving subjects, using flash, or photographing under artificial lighting you want to shoot with the mechanical shutter. While you can achieve much faster shutter speeds with an electronic shutter you run the risk of what's called rolling shutter where you would get a jello effect. Now a benefit of the electronic shutter is that your camera could be completely silent which will work better if you are a wildlife photographer or working on set taking stills for a movie. Also, If you want to take photo during the day time with the aperture set wide open the high shutter speed from the electronic shutter will keep you from having to use an ND filter. Hopefully that clarifies it a bit. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for all this useful information, I am wondering about using this camera to live stream on RUclips. Will it shut off after a 1/2 an hour or can it run indefinitely ? Does the HDMI output a clean signal in high resolution?
Hello, Aerials402. The Sony Cybershot RX10 IV has clean HDMI out and can record continuously (unless the internal temperature gets too high). To use this camera for livestream, I would recommend looking into El Gatos Camlink 4k. This will allow you to capture the clean signal out from your camera's HDMI port into your high speed USB 3 port (Type A). Thanks for watching.
Thanks for getting back to me and I have heard about the El Gato website, looking at the website Adorama for purchase of the camera . Have you heard of them and what do you think , or know of any reputable sites to purchase from ??
hi, i am very thankful to you, i just bought my sony RX 10 mark 4 camera, i have a question can i use this camera for continuous video recording ? then the life of my camera is damage or not? how many hours i use this camera? thanks
Thank you Digital Goja for the informative presentation. Question - do all of the earlier versions of the RX, including the Mark I and II, have the mechanical leaf shutter with high speed shutter speed with flash? Thank you. Ken
Yes, the same like ATG's Sony DSC-RX1. Meaning one can use any flash or monolight to sync to 2,000. That is why Sony has to disconnected the DSC-RX1 due to it has the same sensor on Nikon D2. Plus your flash or monolight doesn't overheated or shutdown.
Thanks for your feedback Olga Celle. It's something to think about. If you are curious to see how animal eye detect AF works on a Sony you could check this video we did ruclips.net/video/lXaYAJZNs6k/видео.html. Thanks for watching!
If you want to view the effect that your settings have on the image, make sure to enable Live View Display in your cameras menu (Camera Settings 2, Purple Tab) Thanks for watching!
Hello, Mark Barlow. It really depends on what you are looking to do. I would recommend looking at variable ND filters this are extremely versatile and usually give you a 2 to 8 stop range. The camera also has a built-in 3 stop ND filter accessible through the menu. Keep in mind that good variable ND filters come at a cost and each have their own effect on overall image quality. Thanks for watching!
I have problem of using an external microphone with 3.5 pin as I set audio level on 1 but still, I get surrounding sound while shooting video any solution
Hello, Raju Dave. Are you trying to capture Dialogue? You may want to consider an external field recorder or Sony's XLR-K2M audio adapter which provides two XLR inputs with phantom power. These won't eliminate external noise but when used with a good mic and positioned properly will help provide you with better quality audio. If you're mic level is set to 1 or the minimum maybe it's not saving the setting or you are in a very loud environment.
You have no problem using other flashes as long as you got MIS to Standard Hotshoe Adapter. Your choices in ATG Auto2 or manual setting on high end flashes (Canon 600EX II-RT/600EX-RT/580EX II; Nikon SB5000/SB-910/SB-900/SB-800/SB-26/SB-25 & Vivitar 285HV) We have no problem & sync up to 2,000 with Metz 60CT-4 & Quantum QFlash T2 by ATG.
I noticed that the aperture goes up real fast as you start to zoom. Looks like you can only use a low aperture at the wide angle setting. At 50-70mm, what is the aperture?
Hello, I heard that the noise could appear, even at low iso (200 ISO) How do you think is the maximum limit not to be exceeded in low light ? i'm french, so excuse my language !
Thats not how battery banks work. mAhr is how much energy is stored in the battery not how much power it provides. A 2000 mAhr might actually work better than a 16000 one if the 2000 one charges at 10 watts (5 volt at 2 amps) and the 16000 only does 7.5 or 5 watts. The camera manual says shooting takes about 2.4 watts so most reputable battery banks will work. A 2000 battery just wont last any near as long as a 16000
Why do all cameras have video? I never have and never will take videos with a camera. Is there a camera out there that is more geared to just photography? I have the Nikon D7500 and the Sony RX10 M4
Hi, there are many cameras geared more towards photography, some of them are Sony A7R III and IV, Canon EOS 5D Mark IV, Canon 90D, etc. Your Nikon camera is also among them.
If you are good enough try the Hasselblad H6D or lower affordable camera like Nikon DF. Or buy a used Sony DSC-RX1. The sensor is the same as your D7500, making RX10 series tiny.

Hi Haz, we agree, Sony is making some great cameras and lenses and in a few years, we see them as the market leaders.
Thanks Haz for your comment, i'm really convinced in buying this camera.
My favorite bridge camera. The balance of lens and image quality rivals that of larger DSLR setups IMHO.
We love it too!

Very useful video, thanks. One minor issue that you did not mention, the clear image zoom is not available if you are shooting in RAW mode
Thank you for the feedback Gordon!
@@DigitalGojaUSA I had to discover that for myself as well.

I am a proud owner of the Sony RX 10 mark 4 and it's a wonderful equipment that I have since I do quite a lot of wildlife photography
What settings do you use for birds in flight?
You've printed 30 X 40 and images just as good as 1/2 sized sensor from Olympus OM-D E-M1X?
Thank you very much for all the information about the camera. It is the best video explaining all these features on the net. Go ahead you are the best
Wow! Thanks Juan Jose Arasa! You are so welcome!
Thank you for this very informative video. Clear explanations!
You are welcome! Glad to hear that this was helpful. Thanks for watching!
But is the clear image zoom really that good? Surely ut does degrade the image.
Hello, BUILT DIESEL MAFIA. It works extremely well. I would go as far as saying that it gives you better quality than cropping in post. Thanks for watching!
@@DigitalGojaUSA I'm going to give it a go and see. I mea. That would be sweet to have if needed for sure.
My new RX10 IV will be delivered on Tuesday-thanks for a great video!
Thanks Danny McNeal! We wish you the best with your new camera. Take care.
Fantastic video -- lots of great tips 👍
Thanks so much!
Nice review! I'm buying this camera next week 😁😁😁
I have a question: Is it possible to take silent shots in continous shooting at its maximum speed?
Hi, it should be possible, this camera has a silent high-speed electronic shutter.
I’m asking as I’m watching, instead of loading up questions at the end (and so I don’t forget). can you give insight in video and voice recording it will be a great help to us
Thank you.
Very good concept and delivery.
Thank you Kevin!
Would you carry this camera along side the A73 ?
It is a good combo!
Is there a way to print directly from the camera to the printer ?
Hi, megan do! If the printer has a USB port you will be able to do it.

Where do I find the light meter on The Sony RX-10 iv?
Hi, it should be available in the Multi-Pattern mode.
Hi great video...I'm going to be getting one of these cameras soon....what ND filter do you recommend as there seems to be various types...thanks :-)

Hi i have purchased a Sony RX10 IV and want to connect a Nissin i60a flash unit but am struggling to get it to work
Hi Kevin, only OEM Sony flashes can work correctly with it.
Nice FAQ session Adam.
Thank you!!
If you select the auto shutter setting, what criteria does the camera use to switch between mechanical or electronic?
Hi Gary, it changes based on the shooting conditions and shutter speed.
Hi any idea if they will bring back playmemories? Was tempted by this camera but may go for mk3 instead as I like the idea of the apps
Hi Terry, we have not heard anything about it.
Digital Goja :(
does it do back focus?
Yes it does!
@@DigitalGojaUSA Would you care to show us how to set that up?
Sony should also make an aps-c version of this camera.
That would be great, but I could only imaging how big and expensive the camera would be. Thanks for watching!

What happened to Playmemories on this camera?
Hi, Richard! Sony has removed the playmemories mobile app from all of there "pro" series cameras including the DSC-RX10 IV, A7R III, and A7 III.
I think a "pro" user would want the applications that this would provide. This is crippling these cameras so you'll have to buy their camcorders.
There is a rumor of a firmware update coming that is addressing this in the a7 series any way.
What a review 2X600? Are you serious? I guess you are I tested. Thanks you for the tip.
Thanks digi Goja, ill buy stuff in your store
Thank you Jeremy!!!
Can you get good bokeh effect?
Yes you can, by lowering the aperture.
I noticed that the aperture goes up real fast as you start to zoom. Looks like you can only use a low aperture at the wide angle setting. At 50-70mm, what is the aperture?
At those lengths, the aperture should be around 3 - 3.3.
Hello,
I heard that the noise could appear, even at low iso (200 ISO)
How do you think is the maximum limit not to be exceeded in low light ?
i'm french, so excuse my language !
Hi, under 800 the noise is not noticeable, however, it all depends on how much light is out there.
many thank's for your answer ;-)
Bonjour, existe-t-il une cage pour ce bridge? Merci
